Operation
With its two nozzles, the Bazooka® Pump fills automatic tapers, nail
spotters, flat boxes, corner applicators, and the MudRunner® 40%
faster than traditional pumps. The Bazooka® Pump also features a
high capacity tube that holds 60% more compound.
To fill and automatic taper, attach the tool-less Bazooka gooseneck to
the discharge tube by engaging the quick release clamp. To fill boxes
and nailspotter, use the filler attachment and simply insert firmly into
the discharge tube. MudRunners and Corner Applicators attach directly
to the discharge tube.
Place the Bazooka® Pump in a standard five gallon pail, with the foot
outside the pail, making sure the joint compound is well mixed and
lump free. Stabilize the pump by stepping on the foot. A new or fresh
Bazooka® Pump may need to be primed before use by pouring 1/2 cup
of water into the outlet. Once the Bazooka® Pump is full of joint
compound no further priming is needed. Proceed with filling the tool by
pumping the comfort-grip handle until the tool is full. Variable speed
control lets you choose how fast to fill. The 2-speed adjustment is
found under the easy-to-move carry handle.
Maintenance
The Bazooka® Pump can be disassembled by disengaging the two clasps at the top of the Bazooka® Pump and
pulling the tube away from the main Bazooka® Pump body. The plunger can then be removed by disengaging
the quick release pin and sliding the plunger through the Bazooka® Pump housing.
The Bazooka® Pump can now be cleaned by using a water hose or water and a brush to remove the joint
compound from the Bazooka® Pump housing and plunger. On the bottom of the tube, pop off the EX Clean foot
valve to aid in cleaning. Then, after the tool is clean, lightly oil with Ames® Bazooka® Oil or any light machine oil.
To keep your Bazooka® Pump in top working order, you may need to replace the screen, gasket or o-ring on
your Bazooka® Pump. These items should be checked when you clean your Bazooka® Pump.
