Product Description

Designed for a wide variety of soundreinforcement applications,the Tannoy Di6 is a high
performance,ultra compact surface mount weather resistant loudspeaker. A full bandwidth
loudspeaker designed for commercial, professional and residential applications where environment
durability and highquality sonic performance are required. Indoor or outdoor, these speakers are
ideally suited to stereo or monaural background or foregroundmusic systems in such applications as
diverse as themeparks, retail premises, restaurants and cafés, corporate audio visual, residential
developmentsand houses of worship.

Equipped with Tannoy’s uniqueand exclusive point source ICT™ 165mm (6.50") drive unit, the Di6
delivers an acoustic performance of outstanding clarity,definition and detail. The point source
configuration of the Tannoy ICT™driver’s mid-bass and tweeter sections ensures a wideand
controlled dispersion foroptimum coverage; this whileavoiding themassive lossof energyin the
vertical plane, at the crossoverfrequency,inherentin two-way discrete designs. TheICT™
(Inductive Coupling Technology)drive unit also addressesthe twomost common component failures
experienced in backgroundmusic andsound reinforcement systems, the tweeter and the crossover
reliability. The useof a wireless electromagnetictweeter means thatno crossoveris required in the
design; this thereforeensures thatan ICT™ unit is exceptionally reliable andthereforeideal for
applicationswhere constant heavy usage is the norm. This aluminiumhigh frequency dome hasa
deep drawn skirtthat sitson theinside of thelowfrequency voice coil in the samemagnetic gap.
Theskirt is like a single shorted turn that is induced with highfrequencyinformation generatedby the
lowfrequency voicecoil, which is fed a full bandwidth signal. The mineral loadedpolypropylene
cone material and nitrile rubbersurround further enhance durability and long-term reliability.

Available in textured black or whitepainted finish with matching rubbertrims, the outstandingly durable
andscuffresistant, highimpact polystyrene (HIPS)Di enclosureis weather resistant, rated IP64to
EN60529 (IEC529); a constructionfully optimisedfor consistent performance in adverse
conditions indoors or out.

Modificationis possible by application of alternativecolour trims.Twostandard colourtrim options
areavailable from stock; enabling black or white product to be supplied factory pre-fitted witheitherred
or blue trims.

Other trim colours can also be created to suitspecific requirements, but onlyas a special order
customisation subject to minimum orderquantities. Primarilyaimed at corporate branding
applications, this aestheticflexibility will also enablecolour coordination forlarger installs.

Transformer version - the Di6t

The Di6tmodel option is equipped with an internallymountedlow insertion loss line transformerfor 70Vor
100V distributed sound applications. Wattage taps areeasily configurable to the followingsettings via an
easily accessible rotary tapping switch, whichisbottom panelmountedunder therubber trim.
70V: 30W / 15W / 7.5W / 3.75W / OFF & LowImpedance operation
100V:30W / 15W / 7.5W / OFF & LowImpedance operation
