CULTIVATOR ATTACHMENT WARRANTY
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other conditions and warranties in respect of this product which the consumer may have taken under the Trade Practices Act 1974 or by any legislation of a State or Territory of Australia. This product is warranted by Talon Tools Australia (ABN 12 099 520
939)(the “Company”) to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 24 months from the date of original purchase. The Company during the period of the warranty, will at its option, and sub­ject to the conditions stated herein, repair or replace without charge this product or any component part, which upon examination by an Authorised Service Agent or by the Company is found to be defective.
Warranty conditions
This warranty will not apply:
(i) where this product has been subjected to misuse, abuse, accident or want of care; (ii) where this product has been used for a purpose for which it was not designed or is not suited; (iii) where the service of this product has been undertaken by a person not authorised by the Company to carry out such work or where parts that have not been approved by the Company have been used; (iv) where this product has been used for industrial or commercial purposes.
Should service become necessary during the warranty period, the purchaser should contact an Authorised Service Agent or the Company. In order to obtain warranty service, the purchaser must present the store receipt showing the name of the retailer and the date of purchase together with a completed Warranty Card. The period of the warranty begins from the original date of purchase, notwithstanding any subse­quent repair or parts replacement. No additional warranty or guarantee other than set out in this document, whether written or verbal, is authorised to be made on the Company's behalf. The purchaser shall be responsible for delivery or causing the product to be delivered to the Company or the Authorised Service Agent and the purchaser shall be responsible for all charges in connection with re-delivery of the product and/or the delivery of parts. Damage in transit is not covered by this warranty and purchasers should remove from the product any liquids (if applicable) before sending and pack the product securely to pre­vent damage.

Normal wear parts or components are subject to separate terms as follows: Normal wear parts, compo­nents or service required when performing normal and regular maintenance of this product are not covered by warranty unless it is found to be defective by an Authorised Service Agent or by the Company. Normal wear parts include, but are not limited to:

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

WARNING! When using gas tools, basic safety precautions, including the following, should always be followed to reduce
the risk of serious personal injury and/or damage to the unit.
Read all these instructions before operating this product and save these instructions.

READ YOUR USER MANUAL AND ALL SUPPLE­MENTS (IF ANY ENCLOSED) THOROUGHLY BEFORE OPERATING YOUR UNIT.
1. Wear close fitting, tough work clothing that will provide protection, such as long slacks or trousers, safety work shoes, heavy duty work gloves, hard hat, a safety face shield, or safety glasses for eye protec­tion and a good grade of ear plugs or other sound barriers for hearing protection.
2.
Store in a safe place. Open fuel cap slowly to release any pressure which may have formed in fuel tank. To prevent a fire hazard, move at least 10 feet (3 meters) from fuelling area before starting.

Turn unit off before setting it down.
4.
Always hold unit firmly with both hands, the thumb and fingers encircling the handles.
5.
Keep all screws and fasteners tight. Never operate your equipment when it is improperly adjusted or not completely and securely assembled.
6.
Keep handles dry, clean and free of fuel mixture.
7.
Keep stringhead as close to ground as practical.
Avoid hitting small objects with stringhead. When cut­ting on a slope, stand below stringhead. NEVER cut or trim on a hill or slope, etc. if there is the slightest chance of slipping, sliding or losing firm footing.
8.
Check area you will be trimming for debris that may be struck or thrown during operation.

when starting or running engine. Before starting engine, make sure stringhead will not come in contact with any obstacle.
10.
Stop engine before examining cutting line.
11.
Store equipment away from possible flammable materials,
such as gas-powered water heaters, clothes dryers, or oil-fired furnaces, portable heaters, etc.
12.
Always keep the debris shield, stringhead, and engine free of debris build-up.
13.
Operation of equipment should always be restricted to mature and properly instructed individuals.
WARNING: Gasoline is highly flammable, and its vapours can explode if ignited. Take the following precautions:
1. Store fuel only in containers specifically designed and approved for the storage of such materials.
2. Always stop the engine and allow it to cool before fill­ing the fuel tank. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank, or add fuel, when the engine is hot. Never operate the unit without the fuel cap securely in place. Loosen the fuel tank cap slowly to relieve any pressure in the tank.
3. Mix and add fuel in clean, well-ventilated area outdoors where there are no sparks or flames. Slowly remove the fuel cap only after stopping engine. Do not smoke while fuelling or mixing fuel. Wipe up any spilled fuel from the unit immediately.
4. Avoid creating a source of ignition for spilled fuel. Do not start the engine until fuel vapours dissipate.
5. Move the unit at least 10 feet (3m) from the fuelling source and site before starting the engine. Do not smoke, keep sparks and open flames from the area while adding fuel or operating the unit.
6. Never start or run the unit inside a closed room or building. Breathing exhaust fumes can kill. Operate this unit only in a w
ell ventilated area outdoors.
WARNING: Keep children, bystanders, and animals 50 feet (15 meters) away. If approached stop unit immediately.

e sure your cord set is in good condition. When using a cord set, be sure to use a cord that is hea
vy enough to carry the current that your unit
will dr
aw. An undersized cord set will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. See the oper
ator’s manual for the unit that will power
this attachment for the recommended cord size.
3. Inspect all extension cords and the unit power connec­tion periodically. Look closely for deterioration, cuts or cracks in the insulation. Also inspect the connections for damage. Replace the cords if any defects or dam­age appear.
4. Do not use the unit in the rain.
5. Do not handle the plug or unit with wet hands or
standing on any wet surfaces.
6. Do not leave the unit plugged in when not in use,
changing attachments or while being serviced.

2. Wear safety glasses or goggles and ear/hearing pro-
tection when operating this unit. Wear a face or dust mask if the operation is dusty.
3. Wear heavy, long pants, boots and gloves. Do not
wear loose clothing, jewellery, short pants, sandals or go barefoot. Secure hair above shoulder level.
4. Use the unit only in daylight or good artificial light.
5. Use the right tool. Only use this tool for the purpose
intended.
6. Do not force unit. It will do the job better and with less
likelihood of injury at a rate for which it was designed.
7. Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the
unit towards you.
8. Do not overreach, take extra care when working on
steep slopes or inclines. Always keep proper footing and balance.
9. Always hold the unit with both hands when operating.
Keep a firm grip on both the front and rear handle or grips.
10. Keep hands, face, and feet at a distance from all mov-
ing parts. Do not touch or try to stop the tines when they are rotating. Do not operate without guards in place.
11. Do not operate the engine faster than the speed
needed to do the job. Do not run the engine at high speed when not in use.
12. Always stop the engine/motor when operation is
delayed or when walking from one location the anoth­er.
13. Stop the engine/motor for maintenance, repair, to
install or remove the tines. The unit must be stopped and the tines no longer tur
ning to a
v

y.
14. The tines become very sharp from use. Always wear hea
vy gloves when handling, removing, installing or
cleaning the tines.
15.
If you strike or become entangled with a foreign object, stop the engine/motor immediately and chec
k for damage. Have damage repaired before attempting further operations.
16.
Stop the unit IMMEDIATELY if you feel excessive vibr
ation. Vibration is a sign of trouble. Inspect thor­oughly for loose nuts, bolts or damage before contin­uing. Repair or replace affected parts as necessary.
17. Stop and switch the unit to off for maintenance, repair, or for changing attachment or other attach­ments.
18. Keep unit clean of vegetation and other materials which may become lodged between the tines and gearbox or guard.
19. Use only genuine Talon replacement parts and accessories for this unit. These are available from you authorized service dealer. Use of any non Talon parts or accessories could lead to serious injury to the user, or damage to the unit, and void your war­ranty.
1. Do not operate this unit when tired, ill, or under the
influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
2. All guards and safety attachments must be installed
properly before operating the unit.
3. Inspect the unit before use. Ensure the tines are
installed correctly and secure.
4. Clear the area to be cultivated before each use.
Remove all objects such as rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, or string which can be thrown or become entan­gled in the cultivator attachment.
5. Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, partic
ularly small persons, and pets.
6. Allow the unit to cool before storing or transporting. Be
sure to secure the unit while transporting.
7. Store the unit in a locked up or high and dry place to
prevent unauthorized use or damage, out of the reach of children.
8. Clean the tines with a a strong brush or clamp cloth.
Wipe the tines with a light machine oil to prevent rust.
9. Never douse or squirt the unit with water or any other
liquid. Keep handles dry, clean and free from debris. Clean after each use, see cleaning and storage instructions.
10. Keep these instructions. Refer to them often and use
them to instruct other users. If you loan someone this unit, also loan them these instructions.

INSTALLING THE ATTACHMENT
NOTE: To make installing or removing the attachment
easier, place the unit on the ground or on a work bench.
1. Turn the knob (A) counterclockwise to loosen (Fig. 1A).
2. While firmly holding the attachment (B), push it straight into the Quick-Change coupler (C) until the release button (D) appears in the primary hole (E) of the Quick-Change coupler. (Fig. 1B)
3. Turn the knob (A) clockwise to tighten. (Fig. 1C)
All attachments are designed to be used in the primary hole unless otherwise indicated in the specific attach­ments operators manual. If the incorrect hole is used, it could result in injury, or damage to the unit.
1. Move the cultivator to the work area prior to starting the engine/motor.
2. Start the unit.
3. With the engine running and the tines off the ground, depress the throttle control to increase the engine speed.
4.
Holding both of the shaft and handle grips firmly, slo
wly lower the cultivator until the tines make contact
with the ground. (See Fig. 2)
5.
As cultivating action begins, pull back on the cultivator so that the tines can penetrate the ground.
6. Once the ground has been broken, continue at a mod-
erate pace until you are familiar with the controls and the handing of the cultivator.
TINE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
All 4 tines should be replaced at the same time because they will wear evenly through normal use. Work on one side at a time.
1. Unplug the power cord before cleaning or performing
maintenance or removing or installing tine.
2. Remove the clevis pin clips (A) and clevis pins (B).
(See Fig. 3A)
3. Remove the tines (C) and felt cushions (D) from the
shaft (E). (See Fig. 3B)
4. Clean and oil the shaft.
5. The tines are stamped with the letter “R” or “L” to iden-
tified their position on each side of the gearbox when facing the front of the unit.
6. Replace the tines (C) and felt cushions (D) onto the
shaft with the hubs on the tines facing each other.
7. Ensure the tips on tines are allgned in the same direc-
tion with each other before reinstalling the clevis pins and pin clips.
8. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side.
NOTE:When installed correctly, there will be an “R” and “L” tine on each side of the gearbo
x and the tips on the tines line up in the same direction. It is important that the tines are installed correctly
.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
1. Keep machine, attachments and accessories, including where appropriate the battery, in safe working condi­tion. If appropriate, remove the battery to protect it from frost and properly charge it if necessary.
2. Check shear bolts, engine mounting bolts and other bolts at frequent intervals for proper tightness to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
3. Inside a building store the machine away from ignition sources. Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure.
4. Always refer to the user Manual instructions for impor­tant details if the cultivator is to be stored for an extend­ed period.
5. Do not attempt to repair the machine unless you have the proper tools, and instructions for disassembly and repair of the machine.
