WARRANTY INFORMATION

BLOWER VACUUM WARRANTY
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other conditions and warranties in respect of
this product which the consumer may have taken under the Trade Practices Act 1974 or by any legislation
of a State or Territory of Australia. This product is warranted by Talon Tools Australia (ABN 12 099 520
939)(the “Company”) to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 24 months from
the date of original purchase. The Company during the period of the warranty, will at its option, and subject to the conditions stated herein, repair or replace without charge this product or any component part,
which upon examination by an Authorised Service Agent or by the Company is found to be defective.
Warranty conditions
This warranty will not apply:
(i) where this product has been subjected to misuse, abuse, accident or want of care;
(ii) where this product has been used for a purpose for which it was not designed or is not suited;
(iii) where the service of this product has been undertaken by a person not authorised by the Company
to carry out such work or where parts that have not been approved by the Company have been used;
(iv) where this product has been used for industrial or commercial purposes.
Should service become necessary during the warranty period, the purchaser should contact an Authorised
Service Agent or the Company. In order to obtain warranty service, the purchaser must present the store
receipt showing the name of the retailer and the date of purchase together with a completed Warranty
Card. The period of the warranty begins from the original date of purchase, notwithstanding any subsequent repair or parts replacement. No additional warranty or guarantee other than set out in this document,
whether written or verbal, is authorised to be made on the Company's behalf. The purchaser shall be
responsible for delivery or causing the product to be delivered to the Company or the Authorised Service
Agent and the purchaser shall be responsible for all charges in connection with re-delivery of the product
and/or the delivery of parts. Damage in transit is not covered by this warranty and purchasers should
remove from the product any liquids (if applicable) before sending and pack the product securely to prevent damage.
Warranty exclusions
Normal wear parts or components are subject to separate terms as follows: Normal wear parts, components or service required when performing normal and regular maintenance of this product are not covered
by warranty unless it is found to be defective by an Authorised Service Agent or by the Company. Normal
wear parts include, but are not limited to:
Returns based on the above listed normal wear parts will not be accepted under this warranty as they
are considered consumable items and are at the expense of the purchaser.

32. This appliance should be supplied via a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more
than 30 mA.
33. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or
hazards occuring to other people or their property.
34. Always direct the cord to the rear away from the appliance.
35. If a cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the
supply cord from the mains immediately. DO NOT
TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING
THE SUPPLY.
EXTENSION CORDS
Make sure your extension cord set is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy
enough to carry the current your product will draw. An
undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting
in loss of power and overheating. To reduce the likelihood
of disconnection of appliance cord from the extension
cord during operation, loop the extension cord through the
cord holder and secure on cord clip as shown in Figure A.
1. Always wear safety goggles or other suitable eye protection.
2. Always wear long pants, shoes and gloves. Do not
wear loose clothing, jewelry, short pants, sandals, or
go barefoot.
3. Always wear a respirator or face mask when working
with the blower in a dusty environment.
4. Always inspect the area before starting the appliance
to remove debris and hard or sharp objects that can
be blown or cause damage during operation.
5. Never operate this appliance when you are tired, ill or
under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication.
6. Use only 240 A.C. voltage supply as shown on the
nameplate of the appliance.
7. Always run the appliance with the tubes attached to
the unit.
8. This appliance is intended for household use.

When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed to ensure maximum safety and optimum
performance, Read the User manual before assembling and operating this appliance. Failure to comply with instructions
may result in fire, electrical shock or personal injury.
Meaning of symbols marked on the product
Read the user manual before using the machine
Whenever the machine is in use, safety goggles
must be worn to protect against flying objects. Ear
protection must be used to protect the operators

WARNING : To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or
injury:
1. Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from
outlet when not in use and before servicing.
2. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
3. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is
not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged,
left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
4. Do not pull or carry the cord, use cord as a handle,
close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges
or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord
away from heated surfaces.
5. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the
plug, not the cord.
6. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
7. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with
any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and
anything that may reduce air flow.
8. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body
away from openings and moving parts.
9. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
10. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
11. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids,
such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be
present.
12. Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting motorized nozzle.
13. This appliance is provided with double insulation and
should be repaired by qualified technicians who use
only identical replacement parts. See instructions for
Servicing of Double-Insulated Appliances.
14. Unplug before connecting nozzle.
15. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking,
such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
16. Do not use without vacuum bag in place.
17. Keep cord clear of operator and obstacles at all times.
Do not expose cord to heated surfaces, oil, water, or
pull around sharp edges, corners, or close door on
cord.
18. Avoid unintentional starting. Be sure the switch is in the
“OFF” position while connecting and disconnecting to a
power supply. Do not carry plugged-in appliance with
finger on the switch.
19. Place switch in the “OFF” position and disconnect
appliance from power supply when not in use and
before servicing.
20. Never operate the appliance in wet or damp conditions
or around swimming pools, hot tubs, etc. Do not use to
blow snow.
21. Inspect appliance for any damage to the housing, cord
or plug. Keep all fasteners tight.
22. Do not use if the switch does not turn the appliance on
and off properly.
23. Keep bystanders especially children and pets, away
from the area of operation. Never allow children to
operate the appliance. Turn off unit immediately if you
are approached.
24. Always inspect the area before starting the appliance
to remove debris and hard or sharp objects that can be
blown or cause damage during operation.
25. Never blow debris in the direction of bystanders or
solid objects. The force of the air can cause objects to
be blown or ricochet which can harm people. Never
place objects inside blower tubes.
26. Never operate with any air openings blocked. Keep air
openings free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may
reduce air flow. Do not plug anything into openings or
blower tubes.
27. Never use the appliance for spreading chemicals, fertilizer, or any other substances that may contain toxic
materials. Do not use appliance as a sprayer of flammable liquids.
28. Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use in unventilated areas or where dust or explosive vapors can build
up.
29. The vacuum function is intended for vacuuming leaves
other garden debris and dirt only. Do not misuse this
tool to vacuum: rocks, plastic bag, sand or metal.
30. The appliance is not suitable for use by children or
infirmed persons. Never allow children or infirmed persons to use the machine under any circumstances. Do
not leave the appliance where such persons can gain
access to it and operate the unit.
31. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly
qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

1. Always work moving away from solid objects such as
walls, large stones, automobiles and fences.
2. Clean spaces with corners by starting in corners and
moving outward to straight areas to prevent an
accumulation of debris which could fly into face.
3. Be careful when working near plants. The force of air
could damage young plants.
4. Uses for your blower:
• Sweeping debris or grass clippings from
driveways, sidewalks, patios, parking lots.
• Gathering grass clippings, straw or leaves into
piles.
• Removing debris from corners, around joints and
between bricks.

To operate machine slide the on/off switch forwards (A).
To stop, return switch to “OFF” position (B). (Fig. 4)
GARDEN BLOWER OPERATION
1. Set the mode change-over lever to the DOWN position (blower mode)
2. Hold the appliance and sweep from side with the nozzle a few inches above the ground or floor. Move the
appliance slowly,while accumulating a pile of debris.
3. Use the appliance as a blower for trees.shrubs,flower
beds and hard to clean areas.
4. Use the appliance as a blower around buildings and
for other normal cleaning.
5. Use the appliance as a blower for walls,overhangs
and screens.
6. Your machine is designed to easily blow leaves and
garden debris from patios, driveways, paths, lawns
and from under hard to reach places where debris
may accumulate.
Before using your tool review all safety instructions
on page 1 and 2 of this user manual.
To set your unit in garden blower mode, first switch
machine off, then move the mode control slide to
“BLOWER”. (Fig. 5)
DO NOT operate the blower with other people or animals
in the immediate vicinity. Allow a minimum of 30 feet (9
meters) between operator and other people or animals.
1. Place left hand on front handle and right hand on rear
handle. Operate switch using fingers of right hand.
Switch unit on to begin blowing.
2. Wear a dust mask when operating in dry or dusty
areas.
3. Always work by moving away from solid objects such
as walls, large stones and fences. Never blow debris in
the direction of bystanders, plants, glass etc.
4. Avoid working into confined corners or spaces as the
force of air could cause debris to fly upwards into face.
5. Stand at a distance that will allow you to control the
direction of blown debris.
6. The AB2400V is fitted with a variable speed switch to
help control air speed under different use situations.
Low speed can be used when blowing material off
smooth surfaces or in an enclosed area where more
control is required. High speed should be used when
blowing debris off grass or other rough surfaces.
GARDEN VACUUM OPERATION
Your machine will collect a wide variety of garden debris
including leaves, grass clippings and small twigs. Leaf
material will be broken down to reduce its volume and
minimise bag emptying.
DO NOT vacuum hot ash, cigarettes or cigars, rocks,
glass, tin cans or other hard or sharp objects. Damage to
your machine or personal injury may result.
1. Before using your tool review all safety instructions on
pages 1 and 2 of this user manual.
2. To set your unit in garden vacuum mode, first switch
machine off, then move the mode control slide to
“VAC”. (Fig. 6)

• VACUUM/BLOWER TUBE ASSEMBLY
1. Loosen the two screws(2) with a screwdriver. Do not
remove the screws completely so that the nuts on the
opposite sides won't get lost. (Fig 1)
2. Insert the nozzle all the way into the nozzle opening.
3. Tighten the two screws firmly.
4. When removing the nozzle loosen the two screws and
pull out the nozzle.
WARNING! Do not connect the power supply before
attaching the nozzle.
• COLLECTION BAG ASSEMBLY/REMOVAL
CAUTION! Do not use the appliance in the vacuum
mode without the collection bag in place.
1. Attach the collection bag tube(5)to the collection bag
opening (6)of the motor housing. At this time, attach
the collection bag tube so that the tabs of the dust
bag tube will enter the holes(8)of the motor housing.

2. Attach the collection bag loop(9) to the hooked
part(10) of the lower part of the nozzle. (Fig.2B)
3. When removing the collection bag detach its loop from
the nozzle and pull the dust bag tube off the motor
housing while pressing the flaps(11) on both sides of -
the tube simultaneously. (Fig. 2C)
• SHOULDER STRAP INSTALLATION
1. Attach the metal fixture (13)of the shoulder strap(12)to
the hole of the upper part of the handle. (Fig 3A & 3B)
2. The length of the shoulder strap is adjustable so adjust
it to a convenient length.

3. Wear a dust mask when collecting dry or dusty material.
4. Place your left hand on the front handle and your right
hand on the rear handle. Operate switch using fingers
of right hand. Switch unit on to begin vacuuming.
5. Always work by moving in from the edge of a pile of
debris. Keep the vacuum nozzle 50-100mm above the
material being collected to allow proper air flow. (Fig. 6)
6. Swing unit from side to side to vacuum debris.
COLLECTION BAG EMPTYING
To empty collection bag, undo zipper and shake.
For a more thorough clean turn bag inside out and shake.
Re-install bag as outlined on page 3. If bag becomes wet
immediately remove from machine, dry thoroughly before
re-installing.
1. Place switch in “OFF” position and unplug the power
supply before the appliance is serviced, cleaned or
maintenance is performed.
2. Keep air intake clean and air vents free of debris to
avoid overheating the motor.
3. Clean with a damp sponge and mild soap. Do not
squirt with water, hose with water or other liquids.
4. No lubrication is necessary as the motor is equipped
with lifetime lubricated bearings.
5. If the tool does not operate, turn switch to “OFF” posi-
tion and disconnect from power supply first, then from
tool. Check power supply for blown fuses or tripped
circuit breakers. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
There are no owner serviceable parts inside.
SERVICING DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCE
In this double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No grounding
means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor
should a means for grounding be added to the appliance.
There are no owner serviceable parts insidel. A doubleinsulated appliance is marked with the words, “DOUBLE
INSULATION” or “DOUBLE INSULATED”. The symbol
(square within a square) may also be marked on the appliance.
Any service must only be carried out by a qualified technician at an authorized service centre.
• WET OR MOIST MATERIAL
Moist or freshly cut (green) material may collect in the
vacuum/blower inlets of your machine.
Avoid picking up this type of material or material which
has moist soil mixed with it. Soil can compact within the
inlets and fan housing causing a reduction in performance.
To avoid the possibility of clogging alternate between dry
and moist material to keep inlets and tubes clear.
• STORAGE
1. Clean unit before storing.
• Free debris from air intake.
• Clean plastic parts with a mild soap and sponge
dampened with warm water.
• Do not spray blower with water.
2. Store indoors in a dry area out of reach of children.
3. Do not leave extension cord lying on the ground once
you have finished using the appliance. It can become
a tripping hazard.
