Since the installation environment affects the printer, install the printer on a mounting stand or a desk at a place suitable for the printer operation.
The following gives the ranges of temperature and humidity acceptable for printer operation.
z Acceptable environment
– Temperature: 10°C to 32.5°C – Humidity: 20% to 80%
z Recommended environment
– Temperature: 17.5°C to 27°C – Humidity: 50% to 70%
Do not install the printer in the following places:
z In a location subject to direct sunlight.
z Near an air conditioner, or where it is subject to direct cool or warm drafts,
or radiated heat.
z Where it is subject to exhaust discharged directly from a PC or printer.
z Where the temperature or humidity changes significantly. (Take care so that
the printer is not subject to condensation.)
z Where it is subject to excessive dust or corrosive gases.
z In a location such as a laboratory where chemical reactions occur.
z Where an ultrasonic humidifier is being used.
z In a poorly ventilated location.
z Near equipment which generates electrical noise and strong magnetic fields.
z Where it is subject to vibration or shocks.
z Anywhere that cannot withstand the weight of the printer (about 29 kg for
the printer with consumables, and about 35 kg for the maximum printer configuration including the options).
xii
z In an uneven place or mounting location that is not level.
z Where it may slide or where it is sloped.
z Please do not install the printer on more than one stand.

Checking the Power Source

Check the power source for the printer.

Input Power Requirements

Printer model EU:
z Supply voltage: 220 – 240 VAC
z Frequency: 50 Hz ±2 Hz
z Input Current: 6 A
Printer model US:
z Supply voltage: 120 VAC ±10%
z Frequency: 60 Hz ±2 Hz
WARNING
Connect the printer to a dedicated wall outlet in compliance with the specifications of the printer. Connecting the printer to a noncompliant wall outlet may cause fire or electric shock. Use a grounded wall socket to prevent an electric shock. Never use a converter plug.

Power Consumption

The printer’s maximum power consumption is 1,300 W.
When determining the power source for the printer, consider its electric power capacity as well. Should the rated power capacity be exceeded, the ring mains’ circuit breaker may activate.

1.1 Features of the Printer

The Color Printer meets the office needs for clean and prompt output of proposals and plans, eye-catching pictures and graphics of products in presentation, and cost reduction wherever possible.
Shown below are the major characteristics of this printer.
z A4 Monochrome Printing of 31 ppm
This is a color printer which achieved both low price and high speed monochrome printing. It can be used as the first color printer or an additional printer for A4-size printing which is frequently required.
z Oil-less and Easy Maintenance
By making the toner fusing method oil-less, the oil bottle which was one of the consumables became unnecessary, and the model’s usability has further improved.
z Compact, space-saving design
The color laser printer, which can handle sizes up to A4, contributes significantly to saving space in the office. Its compact design does not have large projected parts. You can readily install the printer on a small space on a desk.
z Low running cost
Because the printer uses a monocomponent development system that incorporates the toner cartridge and the developer in a single unit, there are fewer consumables to replace.
z Email Notification Function of Printer Error
In case an error occurs, the error information can be sent to an email address previously designated. As the email addresses, including that of the printer administrator, can be specified according to the importance level.
z Toner adhesion control technology
The control technology of controlling strictly the concentration of the toner which is easy to be influenced is adopted as temperature or humidity. The stability of quality of image is raised sharply.
z Ozone-less system
Original 2 stage electrification system (contact electrification system) is adopted. Eco-friendly structure where ozone is not generated at the time of toner transfer is realized.
z Warming-up time was shortened
With new heating / pressurization system, the return from a sleep mode is also shortening 45 or less seconds and Warming-up time. In case it does not output, we send to you environment which becomes easy to make a sleep mode and can always be speedily used in power saving.

z USB and the network were equipped standardly
Even if it does not purchase a LAN board by addition, a share in an in-house network is possible. A comfortable office work is supported.

1.2 PC Connection

You can use the following two methods of connection between the printer and a PC.
