GENERAL INFORMATION
Thank you for purchasing a Talamex electric engine. The trolling motors are designed and developed by
professional engineering teams. With years of efforts. The power of trolling motor has widely covered 30LBS, 40LBS,
48LBS, 58LBS 66LBS and 86LBS in order to fit various costumers’ requirements and provide different experiences.
Please read and retain this manual before using this electrical motor. The manual contains information that
describes the procedure for safe operation and daily maintenance of your trolling motor. Safe operation will prevent
from personal injury and product damage.

WIRING AND BATTERY RECOMMENDATION
Battery Type
Recommended battery(s): 12-volt Deep Cycle battery or Marine battery, battery should has at least 55 ampere hour
rating or higher. To extend running time an additional battery can be used. See section on battery connection
method.
Cable Size
If extending the standard battery cable supplied with the product, recommends the use of 13m㎡ wire (6-gauge
wire, AWG).
Warning: Be sure all switches are in the OFF position before connecting to battery or batteries.
Electrical arcing near the battery could ignite hydrogen gas and cause the battery to explode.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Do not allow children under 16 to operate the electric outboard motor.
Do not modify the unit in any way or add accessories not intended for this product.
Never fully submerse the unit, if unit is accidentally submersed disconnect battery and leave to dry.
Warning: Always disconnect power from the motor when replacing propeller, removing debris
around the prop, charging batteries, transporting boat or when the motor is not in use.
FIRST TIME RUNNING
BATTERY CONNECTION METHOD
Before connecting the motor’s cables to the battery, ensure switch is in the OFF position and stand clear of the
propeller. Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminal and the black cable to the negative (-) terminal, making
sure the terminals are clean before doing so. A clean connection will minimize power wastage and give you
maximum power from the battery. (A). The battery should be kept in a well-ventilated location. We recommend
using a special deep cycle marine battery for optimum performance.

ATTACHING THE MOTOR TO YOUR BOAT
Attach the motor to the stern of the boat and tighten both mounting bolts securely while taking care not to
over-tighten. To adjust the angle of the motor after attachment, hold the motor head with one hand and depress
the positioning pin at the top of the mounting bracket with your other hand. Press and hold the positioning pin until
the desired angle has been reached, next release the pin and ensure the mechanism locks securely. (B)
Warning: Before the installation, make sure the area between the boat wall and the motor bracket is
clear.

DEPTH ADJUSTMENT
Hold the motor shaft with one hand, loosen the depth adjustment screw and set the motor to the desired depth,
then retighten the adjusting screw securely. (C)

Warning: The motor can only be used in water deeper than 0.8m.
STEERING
To adjust steering counter-force, simply loosen or tighten the counterforce bolt. The ideal setting is one where the
counterforce bolt is just tight enough so that the boat will steer in the direction you are aiming without need for
continual correction.
SPEED CONTROL
The speed control, featuring five forward and three reverse speeds, is integrated into the handle. Turn the handle
clockwise to move forward and anti-clockwise to go backwards. When you don’t want to move, set the handle into
neutral. No power will be used in this setting. (D)
Warning: Remember always disconnect from batteries once the motor leaves water as a rotating
propeller can cause personal injury.
How to (re)place the propeller
Hold the propeller blade and loosen the propeller knob. It can be done counter clock-wise manually without tools.
Pull the propeller straight off. If prop is stuck, grasp one blade with one hand and tap on the backside of the
opposite blade lightly with a rubber mallet, until the propeller comes off. If the propeller pin is bent, replace it. Align
the new propeller with the propeller pin. Reinstall the propeller knob and tighten firmly by hand clock-wise

Do not strike bent prop pin with hammer to remove pin. Damage to motor housing may occur that
would not be covered by warranty."

Battery consumption
Talamex electric engines are equipped with an LED plate. The LED plate shows how long the battery will last.
Level 10 means the battery is full. Level 1 or 2 means the battery need to be recharged

POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION
1: Check for line or weed on propeller.
2: Check battery status.
3: Check terminals on battery.
1: Check propeller for line or weed.
2: Check to see propeller is secure and not damaged.
3: Check shaft to ensure it is not bent. Detach
propeller and run motor visually to ensure shaft is not
shaking. If shaft is damaged contact your retailer.
1: Check all wiring connections.
2: The switch in control box may be burned, contact
your retailer.
1: Loosen counterforce screw, apply lubricant and
readjust.
MAINTENANCE
At the end of the day, wipe the motor down with a cloth soaked in warm water and then rinse
unit with light spray from hose. Always check the propeller is clear of line or weed, regularly
check all nuts, bolts and screws and lubricate all moving parts with an aerosol lubricant. Clean
terminal connections regularly and check for frayed wires or loose connections.
STORAGE
When storing the motor, lubricate all moving parts and screws and store in a wellventilated, dry
area. Do not leave the motor outside in winter for long periods, as this will damage the
permanent magnet in the unit.
WARRANTY
Duration of Coverage
This Limited Warranty provides coverage for one or two years (depends on the specific parts, see next page table)
the only reference for duration of warrant coverage is the serial No., which is imprinted on motor’s control box. The
repair or replacement of parts, or the performance of service under this warranty, does not extend the life of this
warranty beyond its original expiry date.

Conditions That Must Be Met In Order To Obtain Warranty Coverage
Warranty coverage is only available from an authorized dealer to distribute the product in the country in which the
sale occurred. Routine maintenance out-lined in the Operation and Maintenance section must be performed in order
to maintain warranty coverage.
How To Obtain Warranty Coverage
Please deliver the product to an authorized dealer for inspection if the trolling motor is not working properly; proof
of purchase will be required to receive warranty. The dealer will then arrange for the inspection and any necessary
repair. The purchaser in that case shall pay for all related transport charges and/or travel time. If the service
provided is not covered by the warranty, purchaser shall pay for all related labor and material, and any other
expenses associated with that service.
What Is Not Covered
This limited warranty does not cover routine maintenance items, adjustments, normal wear and tear, damage
caused by abuse, abnormal use, operation of the product in a manner inconsistent with the recommended
operation/duty cycle section of the Operation and Maintenance Manual, neglect, accident, submersion, improper
installation (proper installation specification and techniques are set forth in the Operations and First time running
sections in this manual), improper service, use of an accessory or part not manufactured or sold by us, or alteration
or removal of parts.

ALGEMENE INFORMATIE
Dank u voor uw aankoop van een Talamex® elektromotor!
De elektromotoren zijn ontworpen en ontwikkeld door professionele machinebouwteams. Na jaren van inspanning,
zijn er elektromotoren met een vermogen van 30LBS, 40LBS, 48LBS, 58LBS en 66LBS beschikbaar, om te voldoen
aan gevarieerde klanteisen en om verschillende ervaringen te bieden. Lees en houd u zich alstublieft aan deze
handleiding bij het gebruiken van de elektromotor. De handleiding bevat informatie die de procedure beschrijft van
het veilig bedienen en onderhouden van uw elektromotor. Verantwoorde bediening voorkomt persoonlijk letsel en
productschade.

AANBEVELINGEN M.B.T. BEDRADING EN ACCU
Accu Type
Aanbevolen accu’s: 12-volt Deep Cycle accu, accu moet tenminste 5 ampere/uur rating of hoger hebben. Om de
gebruikstijd uit te breiden, zou een extra accu gebruikt kunnen worden. Zie voor meer informatie het hoofdstuk
m.b.t. accu verbindingsmethoden.
Kabellengte
Wanneer u de standaard accukabel, meegeleverd met het product, wilt verlengen, is het gebruik van 13m㎡ draad
aanbevolen. Waarschuwing: Zorg ervoor dat alle schakelaars in de ‘uit positie’ staan, voordat u de
accu met de elektromotor verbindt. Elektrische ontlading in de buurt van de accu, zouden hydrogeen
gas kunnen doen ontbranden waardoor de accu kan ontploffen.
VEILIGHEIDSINFORMATIE
Laat kinderen jonger dan 16 jaar de elektromotor niet bedienen. Pas de motor op geen enkele wijze aan en voeg
geen accessoires toe die niet bedoeld zijn voor dit product. Zorg dat de motor nooit volledig onder water komt, als
dit per ongeluk gebeurt, koppel de accu dan los en laat de motor en de accu drogen.

EERSTE GEBRUIK
ACCU VERBINDINGSMETHODE
Zorg ervoor dat, voordat u de motorkabels met de accu verbindt, de schakelaar in de uit-positie staat en houd
afstand van de propeller. Verbind de rode kabel met de positieve (+) pool en de zwarte kabel met de negatieve (-)
pool, waarbij u moet zorgen dat de polen schoon zijn voordat u dit doet. Een schone verbinding vermindert
stroomverspilling en zorgt voor maximaal vermogen van de accu. De accu moet in een goed geventileerde ruimte
bewaard worden. Een speciale deep cycle marine accu is aanbevolen voor optimale prestaties.

DE MOTOR MET UW BOOT VERBINDEN
Verbind de motor met het achtersteven van de boot en maak beide montagebouten stevig, maar niet te stevig,
vast. Om de hoek van de motor na het monteren te wijzigen, houd de kop van de motor met één hand vast en druk
de positioneringspin aan de bovenkant van de montagehaak in met uw andere hand. Duw de pin en houd deze
vast, totdat de gewenste hoek is bereikt, laat dan de pin los en zorg ervoor dat het mechanisme veilig en stevig
vastzit.
Waarschuwing: Zorg ervoor dat, voor de installaties, de oppervlakte tussen het achtersteven
van de boot en de motorhaak, veilig en leeg is.

DIEPTE BIJSTELLING
Houd de motorschacht vast met een hand, maak de dieptebijstellingsschroef los en stel de motor naar de gewenste
diepte bij. Maak dan de schroef weer goed en stevig vast. (C)

Waarschuwing: de motor kan alleen gebruikt worden in water dieper dan 0,8 meter.
STUREN
Om de stuurkracht aan te passen, dient u simpelweg de stuurdrukschroef vaster of losser te draaien. De ideale
situatie, is er een, waarin de stuurdrukschroef dusdanig vastgedraaid is, zodat de boot in de juiste richting stuurt,
zonder dat u constant moet corrigeren.
SNELHEIDSCONTROLE
Controle over de snelheid, is met vijf voorwaartse en drie achterwaartse snelheden geïntegreerd in de helmstok.
Draai de helmstok met de klok mee om vooruit te varen, en tegen de klok in om achteruit te varen. Als u stil wilt
liggen, zet de helmstok dan in de neutrale stand. In deze stand wordt er ook geen stroom gebruikt.
Waarschuwing: denk eraan om altijd de accu los te koppelen, zodra de motor uit het water
wordt gehaald. Een draaiende propeller kan persoonlijk letsel veroorzaken
.
HOE DE PROPELLER TE VERVANGEN
Hou het propellerblad vast en maak de propellerknop los. Dit kan met de hand, zonder gereedschap, tegen de klok
in gedaan worden. Trek de propeller er recht af. Als deze vast zit, pak één blad met één hand en klop voorzichtig op
de achterkant van het overstaande blad met een rubberen hamer, totdat de propeller loskomt. Als de propellerpin
verbogen is, vervang deze dan. De nieuwe propeller dient met de propellerpin uitgebalanceerd te worden.
Installeer de propellerknop opnieuw en maak deze stevig vast, met de hand en met de klok mee.
Waarschuwing: Zorg ervoor dat de motor losgekoppeld is van de accu, voordat u de propeller
vervangt. Sla niet met een hamer op de verbogen propellerpin, aangezien dit schade aan de
behuizing kan veroorzaken, die niet door de garantie gedekt is.

Talamex® elektromotoren zijn uitgerust met een LED display. De LED display laat zien hoelang de accu nog werkt.
Level 10 betekent dat de accu vol is. Level 1 of 2 geeft aan dat de accu weer opgeladen moet worden.

ONDERHOUD
Veeg de motor, aan het eind van de dag, af met een warme natte stofdoek en reinig de motor vervolgens met
schoon water. Controleer altijd of er geen lijn of planten in de propeller zitten, controleer regelmatig alle bouten,
moeren en schroeven en smeer de bewegende delen met een smeermiddel. Maak de verbindingen regelmatig
schoon en controleer op beschadigde draden of losse verbindingen.
OPSLAG
Smeer, bij het opslaan van de motor, alle bewegende delen en schroeven van de motor en bewaar deze in een goed
geventileerde, droge ruimte. Laat de motor niet voor een langere periode buiten staan in de winter, dit beschadigt
de vaste magneet in de motor.
GARANTIE
Dekkingsduur
Deze beperkte garantie biedt dekking voor een of twee jaar. (afhankelijk van de specifieke onderdelen, zie tabel op
volgende pagina) De enige referentie voor de dekkingsduur is het serienummer, wat geprint staat op de controle
kast. De reparatie of vervanging van onderdelen, of de levering van service onder deze garantie, verlengt de duur
van de garantie niet, ten opzichte van de originele verloopdatum.

Voorwaarden, waar aan moet worden voldaan, om garantiedekking te krijgen.
Garantiedekking is uitsluitend beschikbaar bij een geautoriseerde dealer van het product in het land waar de
aankoop gedaan is. Routine onderhoud, behandeld in de Operatie en Onderhoud hoofdstukken, moet gebeuren om
garantiedekking te behouden.
Hoe garantiedekking te verkrijgen
Lever het product alstublieft in bij een geautoriseerde dealer voor inspectie, indien de motor niet naar behoren
functioneert; een aankoopbewijs dient op aanvraag getoond te worden, om garantie te verkrijgen. De dealer zorgt
dan voor de inspectie en eventuele nodige reparatie. De koper zal in dat geval moeten betalen voor al het
gerelateerd transport en/of reistijd. Indien de verleende diensten niet worden gedekt door de garantie, zal de
koper moeten betalen voor al de arbeid, al het materiaal en alle andere uitgaven in relatie tot die dienst.
Wat niet wordt gedekt
Deze beperkte garantie dekt geen routine onderhoud items, aanpassingen, normale slijtage, schade als gevolg van
misbruik, abnormaal gebruik, gebruik van het product op een manier die niet in overeenstemming is met de
aanbevolen bediening (sectie bediening en onderhoud van deze handleiding), verzaking, onderdompeling, onjuiste
installatie (juiste installatiespecificatie en technieken zijn voorgeschreven in de secties m.b.t. Bediening en Eerste
gebruik van deze handleiding), onjuiste behandeling, gebruik van een accessoire of onderdeel wat niet gemaakt of
verkocht wordt door ons, of wijziging of verwijdering van onderdelen.

ALLGEMEINE INFORMATIONEN
Vielen Dank für den Kauf eines Talamex Elektromotors.
Die Elektromotoren wurden von einem erfahrenen Ingenieur-Team mit jahrelanger Erfahrung konstruiert und
weiterentwickelt. Die Schubkraft der Elektromotoren umfasst eine weite Spanne von 30lbs/13,5daN, 40lbs/18,1daN,
48lbs/21,8daN, 58lbs/26,3daN, 66lbs/30,1daN und 86lbs/39,0daN, um die verschiedensten Kundenanforderungen
zu erfüllen und viel Fahrspaß bieten zu können. Bitte lesen Sie diese Anleitung vor Inbetriebnahme des
Elektromotors und bewahren sie diese gut auf. Das Handbuch enthält wichtige Informationen für einen sicheren
