T02-00034-ABAA
Telemetry Cable/Horn Relay
Installation Instructions
Introduction
The T02-00034-ABAA cable can be used to
connect to the input and output lines of the
auxiliary connector of TM8000 and TM9000
mobile radios.
The cable also provides a line for ignition sense
and a relay driver for switching a 12V relay.
Notice The radio does not meet the IP54
protection standard once the bung covering the
radio’s auxiliary connector has been removed.
Notice The cable may not be suitable for use in high-temperature environments such
as the engine compartment.
Hardware Configuration for Ignition Sense
The radio hardware link LK2 (on the top-side of the radio’s main board) must be fitted for
ignition sense operation. The following table describes the configuration options.
LK2 is fitted by default.

Relay and Relay Driver
The cable is supplied with a relay (rated 12 V/30A,
with built-in suppression diode) and a relay socket
Relay terminal assignment:
–85 87 87a
(including crimp terminals).
Although the product can drive any similar automotive
relay with a 12V coil that draws no more the 500mA in
operation, Tait recommends a type with a built-in suppression diode for EMC purposes but this is not required for
+86 30
correct operation of the product.
The relay driver of the T02-00034-ABAA is controlled by AUX_GPIO4 which must be
programmed as an Active Low output. Refer to the Help of the radio programming
application for more information.
