SECTION #3 SET UP OF THE MACHINE:
Please Identify, confirm and check each of the below main components of the Mini-Con Labeller.
Main Label Head
Controller
Adjustable Height Stand
Figure #1
Label Roll
Label Head
Control Box
Adjustable Height Handles
Locking Casters
1) If necessary, attach the label head to the stand using the enclosed allen screws and nuts. Nuts are inserted into
the channel of the metal extrusion and turned perpendicular. Also, attach Control Box and Label Roll Holder.
2) To set up the machine, place the item to be labeled onto the conveyor belt and put it in the position relevant to
the Label Dispensing Plate (A-6) on figure 4 on page 5 of this manual. The Label Dispensing Plate (A-6) can
be moved across the width of the Conveyor by loosening the Black Knobs (A-4) and sliding the entire Main
Label Head to the desired position relevant to the Conveyor and than tightening the Black Knobs (A-4).
3) The Start Sensor and Reflector must be mounted to the conveyor. As there are many different types of conveyor,
this step will be dependent on the actual conveyor used. The Start Sensor needs to be mounted on the same side
of the conveyor as the Label Head and should be mounted slightly before the product would go underneath the
Label Dispensing Plate (A-6) reflector must be exactly opposite and centered to the Start Sensor.
4) Locate the Adjustable Height Handles which are on the vertical uprights of the stand. This adjustment is used to
put the Label Dispensing Plate at the correct height relative to the product to be labeled. If at this point it is below the height of the product, turn the handles and raise the Label Head so that it is about 1” above the product.
Tighten the Adjustable Height Handles. Put the product directly below the Label Dispensing Plate (A-6) and
loosen the Adjustable Height Handles and lower the Label Head until it is from 0.5mm to 1mm above the product. See Figure 2 on the following page for details. Tighten the Label Head using the Adjustable Height Handles. After the above is completed, move the package to the right of the Label Head and adjust the brush so that
it lightly touches the top of the package.
5) The machine is now ready for the product and the next step will instruct on how to load the pressure sensitive
labels onto the machine.
