SYNERGY MFG. 870 INDUSTRIAL WAY, SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (805) 242-0397
5016 JEEP JK UNLIMITED THREE SEAT BRACKET
GENERAL NOTES:
• These instructions are also available on our website; www.synergymfg.com.
Check the website before you begin for any updated instructions and additional
photos for your reference.
• The installation of this bracket allows removal of the 60 side of the 60/40 split in
the rear seats of a 4dr JK while safely retaining the smaller portion of the rear
bench.
• This is a bolt on installation that can be done with simple hand tools. No cutting,
grinding or welding is required.
PARTS LIST:
1. (1) 501601 JK three seat bracket
2. (1) ½-20 UNF nylock nut
3. (1) ½” flat washer
4. (1) 3/8-24 UNF nylock nut
5. (1) 3/8” flat washer
INSTALLATION:
1) We will begin by removing the larger half of the rear bench seat.
2) There are 9 total attachment points that will need to be removed.
6 fasteners attach the bench to the floor
1 fastener attaching the 60/40 portion together
2 seat belt attachment points.
3) Begin by removing the bench attachments to the floor of the vehicle. Use an
18mm socket for all these attachment points. See images below for reference.

IMG 3.1 – remove the 2 bolts securing the front legs to the floor

IMG 3.2 – remove the 2 bolts on the underside of the bench.
IMG 3.4 – Remove the rear attachment bolt / nut. Again, use the 18mm socket for this.

4) Next, remove the middle seat belt attachment bolt.
5) Lastly, remove the final seat belt bolt and the 60/40 attachment link.
IMG 4.1 – Remove the seat belt nut for the 40 portion of the rear bench. Use a 15mm
wrench for this. At the same time, remove the small 13mm nut linking the two bench
halves together.

6) Now that all the attachment bolts / nuts have been removed, we can remove the
larger half of the rear bench. The attachment point linking the 2 halves together is
a mounted stud, so the seat needs to come up (to clear the rear stud in the floor)
and over to the passenger side of the vehicle for the bench to be removed. The
seat is much easier to remove with an extra set of hands as the seat is rather heavy
and cumbersome.
Once removed, the Jeep should appear as shown in the images
below.

7) Next, install the new 5016 bracket. Position it as shown below.
8) Start all the bolts / nuts. Use a washer under the nylock nuts included in the kit as
shown. Do not tighten hardware until all fasteners have been started.

9) Lift up on the bracket side of the seat to center up the holes in the bracket which
attach to the body. Torque to 45 ft-lbs.
10) Torque the 3/8” nut to 25 ft-lbs
11) Torque the ½” seat belt nut to 50 ft-lbs
12) Reinstall the remaining seat mounting bolts back into the vehicle to seal up the
holes in the floor. Keep all other hardware from the removed seat half in a safe
place for reinstallation later down the line.
