413402 - Low Misalignment Tie Rod End Dust Boot

GENERAL NOTES:

 These instructions are also available on our website; www.synergymfg.com. Check the website before

 This part is designed to be used exclusively for Synergy HD tie rod ends. It can be used on other brand

tie rod ends with modification; however the instructions below cover installation on Synergy ends.

 Installation on Moog, or other similar tie rod ends can be done by cutting off the “snap fit” portion of the

bushing.

 **Note** this dust boot is designed to hold tie rod ends in a “neutral” state. Installing this tie rod end

dust boot in an application where they are generally misaligned will cause premature wear and failure.
These are designed for use on tie rods only; these are not for use in draglink assemblies or other
applications where significant misalignment is seen.

 **DISCLAIMER** Check fit to ensure tie rod end taper engagement is not hindered by this part. Taper

depths vary from vehicle to vehicle and it is critical for tie rod end taper to be fully engaged in knuckle.
Some applications will require 413402-02 Washer Cap to not be installed.

INSTALLATION:

1) With the tie rod end stud in a neutral position, install the rubber bushing. Bushing has a snap fit to it

which is designed to locate on the dust boot retaining lip of the tie rod end. Lip is highlighted below
with a yellow arrow.

2) Install bushing. Press down until it snaps into place.

3) Take the washer cap and apply a decent amount of grease to the inner surface as shown below. Any

quality wheel bearing or chassis grease will suffice.
