Dissassembling the Mechanism, Cylinder, and Base - INSTRUCTIONS
Tools needed: Crescent Wrench, Hammer, Block of Wood
Step 1: REMOVE THE CYLINDER FROM THE
MECHANISM
Before beginning, turn chair upside down. To reduce
damage to your chair, wrap foam or fabric around
your cylinder. Using your Crescent Wrench, rotate the
cylinder ½ turn to loosen. The cylinder can now be easily
removed from the mechanism.
Step 2: REMOVE THE CYLINDER FROM THE BASE
After removing the cylinder from the mechanism, you can now
remove the cylinder from the base. Wrap cylinder with foam or
fabric to reduce scratching and attempt to loosen the cylinder with
your Crescent Wrench. If this does not work, you will need to use
a block of wood and a hammer to pound out the cylinder. Position
your base upside down against a sturdy table or similar object.
Place your block of wood on the bottom of the cylinder and knock
out the cylinder by hammering the block of wood.
