Checking:
Logs will have splits or cracks called checks. This is natural for Cedar Logs. It is the process by which
moisture escapes the logs, causing it to crack across or through the annual growth rings. Checking does
not affect the strength or integrity of the logs. Logs that do not crack could be an indication that there
may be rot inside the core. Checks, or cracks is one way to know that the logs are genuine cedar.
