Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, ammable gases, vapours and
solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.
• The wireless light switch should only be used on a E27 socket with a voltage of 230 V/AC, 50 Hz.
• Check the product for damage before use! If you notice any damage, do not use the product any longer! There is a risk of a lifethreatening electric shock!
• If the product’s casing is damaged, do not use the product anymore! In the event that it is still connected to a source of electrical power, do not touch the product! First shut down all poles of the current source (turn off automatic fuses/ fuses and FI protective systems) and only after this unscrew the product from the lamp. Take the product to a specialized repair shop or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way.
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed. Never disassemble the product! There are no serviceable parts inside.
Keep the product away from strong magnetic elds occurring near machines, electric motors or loudspeakers.
• Be especially careful when children are around. Children could try to insert items into the openings of the device. There is a risk of a lethal electric shock!
• An all-pole disconnection from the mains voltage (such as a surge protector) must be provided as part of the wiring set-up.
• The wireless light switch is only intended for use in dry indoor locations.
• Do not operate the product when it is covered. Ensure there is adequate ventilation at the site of use.
• Never touch the light bulb you want to screw into the wireless light switch with your hands, either during or after use (take note of the cooling time stated by the light bulb manufacturer!). There is a risk of burns and of a fatal electrical shock!
• Do not overload the wireless light switch (take note of the input power in the technical data at the end of the operating manual!).
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
Maintenance, modications and repairs are to be performed exclu-
sively by an expert or at a qualied shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Programming the wireless light switch to recognise a radio transmitter
• Set the switch group on the transmitter, to which you want to program the wireless light switch, if necessary (e.g. for a radio remote control) using the selector switch for the switch group.
• Screw the wireless light switch into an E27 socket. Make sure that the E27 socket’s connecting cable is voltage-free.
• When the wireless light switch has been screwed into the E27 socket, the light bulb (E27, max. 100 W) can then be screwed into the wireless light switch.
• Now, switch on the E27 socket (as usual, with the corresponding light switch), into which the wireless light switch has been screwed.
The red LED “Indicator” starts to ash.
• Press the ON button for the desired switching channel on the radio transmitter, i.e. that to which you want to program the wireless light switch, before the “Indicator” LED stops blinking. The red “Indicator” LED is on. The programming has been completed successfully.
Programming a wireless light switch to recognise several radio transmitters
You can program up to 10 radio transmitters for this
wireless light switch.
• Switch on the E27 socket (as usual, with the corresponding light switch), into which the wireless light switch has been screwed.
• Press the “ON/OFF Learning Code” button, until the “Indicator” LED
starts to ash.
• Press the ON button for the desired switching channel on the radio transmitter, i.e. that to which you want to program the wireless light switch, before the “Indicator” LED stops blinking. The “Indicator” LED is on. The programming has been completed successfully.
Deleting programmed wireless light switches from a radio transmitter
Please observe the operating instructions for the corresponding radio transmitter.
Start-up, Function Test
• Select the correct switch group on the transmitter, if necessary (e.g. on a radio remote control).
• Switch on the E27 socket (as usual, with the corresponding light switch), into which the wireless light switch has been screwed.
You can now test the wireless light switch’s functioning, by pressing
briey the ON button for the corresponding switching channel. The
red “Indicator” LED lights up. The light bulb screwed in lights.
Briey press the OFF button, for the corresponding switching channel on the transmitter, the LED “Indicator” goes out. The light bulb screwed in lights.
The wireless light switch can also be switched on and off manually, by pressing the “ON/OFF Learning Code” button.
Range
• The range of the radio signals, between the radio transmitter and the wireless light switch, is up to 25 m under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the so-called “open space
range” (range the transmitter and receiver are visible to each other, without interfering influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, cei-
lings of rooms etc. between the transmitter and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmis-
sion, no specific range can be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in
a detached house.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
- Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
- Coated/metallised insulated glass
- Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
- Proximity to human bodies
- Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-controlled headphones, radiocontrolled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby phones etc.)
- Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
- The proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric appliances
Care and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and
should never be opened or disassembled for any reason.
• Allow the product, and the light bulb that is screwed in to it, to cool down before cleaning.
• Only clean the product when it is voltage-free!
• Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the casing or impair the operation.
