Intended use
The radio-controlled switch socket is used for the connection of an electrical consumer load. The radio-controlled remote control is used to switch the radio-controlled switch socket on and off, thereby swit­ching the electrical consumer-load connected to it on and off.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or mo­dify this product. If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper
use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, re, electric shock
etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and espe­cially observe the safety information. If you do not fol­low the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, ammable gases, vapours and
solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other de­vices which are connected to the product.
• Do not use the product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product only emits relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction of life-support systems. The same may also apply to other zones.
• To supply voltage to the radio-controlled switch socket(s), only use a proper mains socket from the public grid.
• The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of chil­dren. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around. Children might try to push objects through the openings of the ra­dio-controlled switch socket’. There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never touch the product when your hands are wet or damp. There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Do not connect the radio-controlled switch sockets in series.
• The radio-controlled switch socket is de-energised only when it has been disconnected from the mains socket.
• Do not overload the radio-controlled switch socket. To this end, please pay attention to the approved connection information in the technical data.
• If the product casing is damaged, discontinue product usage! Do not touch the radio-controlled switch socket or the connected device while it is still connected to the mains voltage! First, switch off the mains socket to which the radio-controlled switch socket is connect­ed (switch off at the circuit breaker or the ELCB). Only then can you remove the radio-controlled switch socket from the mains socket. Take the product to a specialist workshop or dispose of it in an en­vironmentally friendly way.
• Always disconnect the radio-controlled switch socket from the mains socket if the device is not going to be used for a while.
• For safety reasons, always disconnect the radio-controlled switch socket from the mains socket during a thunderstorm.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a warm one. The condensation that forms might dam­age the product. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock! Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and putting it to use. This may take several hours.
• Never pour liquids over electrical devices and never place objects
lled with liquid on top of or next to them.
• Avoid operating and storing the product in close proximity to mag-
netic elds, e.g. close to machines or loudspeakers.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connec­tion of the device.
Maintenance, modications and repairs are to be performed exclu-
sively by an expert or at a qualied shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the battery.
• The battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batte­ries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into
re. Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of
explosion!

Inserting/replacing batteries (remote control)
1. Remove the battery compartment cover (3) on the back of the remote control.
2. Insert a new coin cell of type CR2032 into the battery compartment. The plus pole has to point upwards (see imprint “+” on the coin cell). Slide the coin cell into the battery holder until it reaches the end.
3. Close the battery compartment.
The battery needs to be replaced if the range of the
remote control is signicantly reduced or the control
lamp (4) no longer lights up when the keys are used.
Description of the keys (remote control)
• One of the four switch groups can be selected using the switch
group selector switch (6). For each of the four switch groups, three respective channels are available. Accordingly, the remote control features twelve channels.
• The operating keys (5) are divided into two columns:
- Left column = ON (on)
- Right column = OFF (off)
• Using the three top keys of the left column, you can activate chan-
nels 1 to 3 individually.
• Using the three top keys of the right column, you can deactivate
channels 1 to 3 individually.
• Using the key ALL ON at the bottom of the left column, you can
activate channels 1 to 3 simultaneously.
• Using the key ALL OFF at the bottom of the right column, you can
deactivate channels 1 to 3 simultaneously
The control lamp (4) lights up with every key stroke.
Programming
1. Set the desired switch group (I, II, III or IV) on the remote control using the switch group selector switch (6).
2. Plug the radio-controlled switch socket into a common household mains socket. Make sure that the radio-controlled switch socket is switched off. The on/off switch (2) must not light up.
3. Hold down the on/off switch on the radio-controlled switch socket
until it starts to ash.
4. Press the operating key (5) of the desired channel on the left side of the remote control.
5. The on/off switch lights up permanently. The programming process has been completed successfully.
You may also use the keys on the right side of the remote
control for programming. In this case, the light in the on/ off switch goes out.
6. Proceed as described above to assign the other channels.
A radio-controlled switch socket features 8 memory spac-
es for different channels or remote controls.
The remote control can control an unlimited number of compatible radio-controlled switch sockets.
Resetting the channel assignment
a) All channels
1. Hold down the on/off switch (2) on the radio-controlled switch
socket until it starts to ash.
2. Release the on/off switch briey, and then push and hold it down again until it goes out.
3. The radio-controlled switch socket is now reset to factory settings.
b) Individual channels
1. Set the desired switch group (I, II, III or IV) on the remote control using the switch group selector switch (6).
2. Hold down the on/off switch (2) on the radio-controlled switch
socket until it starts to ash.
3. On the remote control, press the operating key (5) of the channel that you wish to reset. During this process, it is not important whether you press the key of the left or right column.
4. The light of the on/off switch goes out. The assignment of the selected channels has been reset successfully.
Function test
1. Set the desired switch group (I, II, III or IV) on the remote control using the switch group selector switch (6).
2. Plug the radio-controlled switch socket into a common household mains socket.
3. Press the respective operating key (5) on the left side of the remote control. The on/off switch (2) on the radio-controlled switch socket lights up. The radio-controlled switch socket has therefore been activated.
4. To deactivate the radio-controlled switch socket, press the respective operating key on the right side of the remote control. The light of the on/off switch on the radio-controlled switch socket goes out.
Commissioning
The power consumption of the connected electrical
consumer load must not exceed 2000 W/8.7 A (resis­tive load) or 460 W/2 A (motor load). In the event of an overload, the internal thermal fuse of the radio­controlled switch socket will trip. The thermal fuse is not self-resetting. Should this happen, the radio­controlled switch socket can no longer be put into operation.
To ensure proper functioning, the distance between
two radio-controlled switch sockets should be at least 1 m.
1. Plug the radio-controlled switch socket into a common household mains socket. Make sure that the radio-controlled switch socket is switched off. The on/off switch (2) must not light up.
2. Switch off the electrical consumer load that you wish to operate via the radio-controlled switch socket, using its mains switch.
3. Connect the mains plug of the electrical consumer load to the radio-controlled switch socket.
4. Switch the electrical consumer load on using its mains switch.
5. Now switch the electrical consumer load on and off using the remote control. To this end, please refer to the chapter “Description of the keys (remote control)”.
You can switch the electrical consumer load on/off manu-
ally via the on/off switch (2) on the radio-controlled switch socket.
Range
• The transmission range of the radio signal, between the remote control and a radio-controlled switch socket, is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the range when the transmitter
and receiver are visible to each other, without disrupting the power.
In practice, however, there are walls, rooms, ceilings etc.
between the transmitter and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different inuences on the radio transmission,
no specic range can be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a
single family house.
• The range can be reduced due to:
- Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
- Coated or vapour-deposited insulating glass panes
- Proximity to metallic and conductive objects (e.g. heating ele­ments)
- Proximity to human bodies
- Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT tele­phones, mobile phones, radio-controlled headphones, radio­controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby surveillance systems etc.)
- Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power supply units, computers
- Proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating compu­ters or other electrical devices
Care and cleaning
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alco-
hol or other chemical solutions, since these could damage the casing or even impair operation.
• Before you start cleaning the product, disconnect it from the voltage supply and from the connected consumer load.
• Never submerge the product in water.
• The product contains no parts that require servicing. Therefore, do not open/dismantle it.
To clean the product, a clean, dry and soft cloth is sufcient. Do not press on the casing too strongly as this may cause scratch marks.
• Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired and soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.

Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be
disposed of in the household waste. At the end of its ser­vice life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them sepa-
rately from the product.
b) Batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordi-
nance) to return all used batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated batteries are labelled with this symbol to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipali­ty, our stores or wherever batteries are sold.
You thus full your statutory obligations and contribute to the protec­tion of the environment.
