TherearefourrequirementsforachievingtheperformanceoftheUltraATA/133.
1.ThedevicemustsupportUltraATA/133mode.
2.ThemotherboardandsystemBIOSoranadd-onIDEcontrollercardmustsupportUltraATA/133mode.
3.TheoperatingsystemmustsupportDirectMemoryAccess(DMA)suchasMicrosoftWindowsXP, Windows2000,WindowsNT,WindowsME,Windows98SE/98andWindows95B(OSR2).
4.TheIDEcablemustbeATA/133(80-wires/40-pin)andthelengthofthecableshouldnotexceed18inches (44.1cm).
TheperformanceoftheUltraATA/133canonlybeachieved,whenalltheaboverequirementsaremet.

InstallingtheUltraATA/133IDERAIDcontrollercardintoyourcomputer
1.Turnoffyourcomputerandallexternaldevicesconnecttoit.
2.Disconnectyourcomputerfromthepowersources.
3.Openthecomputercase.Refertoyourcomputerusermanualformoredetails.
4.FindanavailablePCIslotandremovetheslotbracket.Savethebracketscrewforlateruse.
5.AligntheUltraATA/133IDERAIDcontrollercardhorizontallywithrespecttothePCIslotandinsertit intotheslotfirmlyandevenly.Takecarenottoforceitintotheslot.Onceyouhaveproperlypositionedthe UltraATA/133IDERAIDcontrollercardintotheslot,fastenittothecomputercasewiththebracket screwyouhavesaved.
6.ConnecttheHDDLEDconnectorfromthecomputercasetotheHDDBusyLEDconnector(JP2)onthe UltraATA/133IDERAIDcontrollercard.
7.ConnectanyUltraATA/133devicetotheconnector(s)oftheUltraATA/133IDERAIDcontrollercard withtheATA/133(80-wires/40-pin)IDEcable.The BLUE connectoroftheATA/133IDEcablemustbe connectedtotheIDEconnectorontheUltraATA/133IDERAIDcontrollercard.
8.Closethecomputercase.Makesuretoreconnectalltheexternaldevicestoyourcomputer.
