1 Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Mit dem Baby Care BC-108 haben Sie ein Qualitätsprodukt aus dem Hause SWITEL erworben.
Bitte lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch, um alle Möglichkeiten kennen zu lernen.
Öffnen Sie das Gerät in keinem Fall selbst und führen Sie keine eigenen Reparaturversuche aus. Bei
Gewährleistungsansprüchen wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Fachhändler.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Gerät ist für die Übertragung von Sprachsignalen, wie z.B. Kindergeräuschen entwickelt worden.
Warn- oder Signaltöne von Atmungs- oder Herztonüberwachungsgeräten können NICHT übertragen
werden.
ACHTUNG: Die Verwendung des Gerätes kann die persönliche Beaufsichtigung eines Kindes
oder einer anderen pflegebedürftigen Person NICHT ersetzen. Jede Haftung außerhalb der
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen ist ausgeschlossen.
Sicherheitshinweise
• Das Gerät ist nicht für einen medizinischen Einsatz geeignet.
• Verwenden Sie die Geräte mit einem Sicherheitsabstand von mindestens einem Meter.
• Verwenden Sie nur hochwertige Batterien.
• Verwenden Sie aus Sicherheitsgründen nur die mitgelieferten original Netzteile. Bei der
Verwendung von nicht passenden Netzteilen können die Geräte in Brand geraten.
• Achten Sie beim Betrieb mit einem Netzteil auf den einwandfreien Zustand der Kabel und
Stecker. Abgeknickte oder durchgescheuerte Kabel können Kurzschlüsse erzeugen. Achtung!
Brandgefahr.
• Sorgen Sie während des Betriebs für eine ausreichende Belüftung aller Komponenten. Legen
Sie keine Kissen oder Handtücher auf die Geräte.
• Verwenden Sie die Geräte nicht in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen.
• Die Geräte sind für den Betrieb in geschützten Räumen mit einem Temperaturbereich von 10 °C
bis 30 °C ausgelegt. Die Geräte dürfen nicht in Feuchträumen wie Bad oder Waschküche
aufgestellt werden. Vermeiden Sie die Nähe zu Wärmequellen wie Heizkörpern, und setzen Sie
das Gerät keiner direkten Sonnenbestrahlung aus.
• Ist die Gebrauchszeit der gesamten Anlage abgelaufen, entsorgen Sie diese bitte
umweltfreundlich gemäß den gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
Reichweite/Kanalwahl
Die max. Reichweite beträgt bis zu 120 Meter. Sollte sich in diesem Umkreis ein weiteres Babyphon
mit dem gleichen Kanal befinden, werden eventuelle auch diese Signale empfangen. Wählen Sie in
diesem Fall einen Kanal. Hinweise zu den Funkfrequenzen finden Sie im Kapitel Technische Daten.
Batterien
• Verwenden Sie bei Batteriebetrieb nur hochwertige Batterien.
• Batterien nicht ins Feuer werfen oder ins Wasser tauchen.
• Sollten Sie die Geräte über einen längeren Zeitraum nicht benutzen, entnehmen Sie bitte die
Batterien. Das längere Lagern mit eingebauten Batterien kann zum Auslaufen der Batterien
führen.
• Alte oder defekte Batterien nicht mit dem normalen Hausmüll entsorgen. Sie sind gesetzlich
verpflichtet alte Batterien und Akkus an geeigneten Sammelstellen zurückzugeben.

Aufstellort
Stellen Sie die Geräte nicht in die unmittelbare Umgebung von anderen elektronischen Geräten wie
z. B. Mikrowellen oder HIFI-Geräten, da es sonst zu gegenseitiger Beeinflussung kommen kann. Der
Aufstellort hat einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf einen einwandfreien Betrieb.
Stellen Sie die Geräte auf eine ebene und rutschfeste Fläche. Normalerweise hinterlassen die Füße
keine Spuren auf der Aufstellfläche. Wegen der Vielzahl der verwendeten Lacke und Oberflächen
kann es jedoch nicht ausgeschlossen werden, dass durch die Gerätefüße Spuren auf der
Abstellfläche entstehen.
Reinigung und Pflege
Die Gehäuseoberflächen können mit einem trockenen, weichen und fusselfreien Tuch gereinigt
werden. Niemals Reinigungsmittel oder gar aggressive Lösungsmittel verwenden. Außer einer
gelegentlichen Gehäusereinigung ist keine weitere Pflege erforderlich.
CE-Zeichen
Das Babyphone stimmt mit den grundlegenden Anforderungen der R&TTE-Directive überein. Dies
wird durch das CE-Zeichen bestätigt.

Das Elternteil wird mit einer 9V Blockbatterie betrieben (nicht im Lieferumfang). Das Babyteil kann mit
dem mitgelieferten Netzteil oder einer 9V Blockbatterie (nicht im Lieferumfang) betrieben werden.
Achtung: Um die Entstehung elektromagnetischer Felder zu verringern, empfehlen wir die
Verwendung von Batterien.
3.1 Inbetriebnahme Babyteil
3.1.1 Batterie im Babyteil einsetzen
1. Das Batteriefach befindet sich in der Rückseite.
2. Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach mit einem kleinen Schraubenzieher.
Hinweis: Aus Sicherheitsgründen ist das Batteriefach mit einer Schraube verschlossen, damit
das Fach nicht durch das Baby geöffnet werden kann. Somit ist gewährleistet, dass das Baby
nicht mit den Batterien in Berührung kommen kann.
3. Verbinden Sie das Batteriekabel mit der 9V Blockbatterie und achten Sie dabei auf die richtige
Polung.
4. Legen Sie die Batterie in das Batteriefach und schließen Sie das Batteriefach.
Die Batterie sollte ausgetauscht werden, wenn bei Batteriebetrieb die entsprechende Kontrollleuchte
rot leuchtet.
3.1.2 Betrieb mit Steckernetzteil
Stecken Sie den kleinen runden Stecker in die vorgesehene Buchse auf der Rückseite des Babyteils
und das Netzteil in eine Steckdose (230V/50Hz). Achten Sie auf eine ausreichende Belüftung des
Steckernetzteils.
3.2 Inbetriebnahme Elternteil
1. Das Batteriefach befindet sich in der Rückseite.
2. Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach mit einem kleinen Schraubenzieher.
3. Verbinden Sie das Batteriekabel mit der 9V Blockbatterie und achten Sie dabei auf die richtige
Polung.
4. Legen Sie die Batterie in das Batteriefach und schließen Sie das Batteriefach.
Die Batterie sollte ausgetauscht werden, wenn die entsprechende Kontrollleuchte
leuchtet.

4 Bedienung
4.1 Das Babyteil
Platzieren Sie das Babyteil in der Nähe des Babys. Beachten Sie den Mindestabstand von einem
Meter. Für eine optimale Übertragung sollte das eingebaute Mikrofon in Richtung des Kindes zeigen.
Wählen Sie nun am Kanalschalter
einen der beiden Kanäle A oder B. Das Eltern- und
Babyteil müssen auf den gleichen Kanal eingestellt sein.
Das Babyteil ist nun betriebsbereit und das eingebaute Mikrofon überträgt ständig die Geräusche
Ihres Kindes.
Die Kontrollleuchte
leuchtet bei eingeschaltetem Babyteil immer grün. Beim Batteriebetrieb
leuchtet die Kontrollleuchte rot, wenn die Batterie ausgetauscht werden sollte.
Um das Babyteil auszuschalten, schieben Sie den Kanalschalter
auf die Stellung AUS.
Hinweis: Überprüfen Sie vor jedem Einsatz die einwandfreie Funktion beider Geräte.
4.2 Das Elternteil
Wählen Sie am Kanalschalter
einen der beiden Kanäle A oder B. Das Eltern- und Babyteil
müssen auf den gleichen Kanal eingestellt sein. Das Elternteil ist nun betriebsbereit. Regeln Sie die
gewünschte Lautstärke mit dem Schieberegler auf der rechten Seite.
Die Kontrollleuchte leuchtet
grün, wenn die Batteriekapazität ausreichend ist. Leuchtet die
Kontrollleuchte rot, sollten Sie die Batterie austauschen.
Um das Elternteil auszuschalten, schieben Sie den Kanalschalter
auf die Stellung AUS.

5.1 Fehlersuche
Keine Funktion Überprüfen Sie die Stromversorgung (Batterien oder Netzteil) beim Eltern-
und Babyteil.
Keine Übertragung Verringern Sie den Abstand des Babyteils zum Baby. Beachten Sie aber
den Mindestabstand von einem Meter.
Verringern Sie den Abstand Eltern- und Babyteil.
Überprüfen Sie den Kanalwahlschalter. Eltern- und Babyteil müssen auf
dem gleichen Kanal arbeiten.
Übertragungsstörungen Wählen Sie den anderen Kanal am Eltern- und Babyteil.
Verringern Sie den Abstand Eltern- und Babyteil.
Überprüfen Sie den Batteriezustand.
Pfeifton Vergrößern Sie die Entfernung zwischen Eltern- und Babyteil.
Verringern Sie die Lautstärke am Elternteil.

société SWITEL. Veuillez lire attentivement en entier le présent mode d’emploi afin de découvrir
toutes les possibilités offertes par votre appareil. N’ouvrez en aucun cas l’appareil vous-même et ne
tentez pas d’effectuer vous-même des réparations. Veuillez vous adresser à votre revendeur en cas
de droits découlant de la garantie.

Usage conforme
L’appareil est conçu pour la transmission de signaux vocaux tels que, par exemple, des bruits
effectués par un enfant. Les sons d’avertissement ou les signaux sonores d’appareils de surveillance
de la respiration ou des battements du cœur ne sont PAS transmis.
ATTENTION : L’utilisation de l’appareil ne peut PAS se substituer à une surveillance en
personne d’un enfant ou d’une personne nécessitant des soins. Toute responsabilité en
dehors des prescriptions légales est exclue.
Consignes de sécurité
• L’appareil ne convient pas pour une utilisation médicale.
• Utilisez les appareils en respectant une distance de sécurité d’au moins un mètre.
• Utilisez uniquement des piles de bonne qualité.
• Par sécurité, utilisez uniquement les blocs d’alimentation originaux fournis. Les appareils
risqueraient de prendre feu si vous utilisez des blocs d’alimentation inadéquats.
• Lorsque vous faites fonctionner l’appareil avec un bloc d’alimentation, veillez à ce que le
câble et la fiche soient en parfait état. Les câbles courbés et usés peuvent provoquer des
courts-circuits. Attention ! Risque d’incendie.
• Durant le fonctionnement, veillez à assurer une aération suffisante de tous les composants.
Ne placez pas de coussin ou des serviettes sous les appareils.
• N’utilisez pas les appareils dans des zones menacées d’explosion.
• Les appareils sont conçus pour une utilisation dans des locaux abrités avec une plage de
températures allant de 10°C à 30°C. Les appareils ne doivent pas être installés dans des
pièces humides telles que la salle de bains ou la buanderie. Évitez de placer l’appareil à
proximité de sources de chaleur telles que les radiateurs et évitez une exposition directe au
soleil.
• Lorsque l’installation entière arrive en fin de vie, veuillez l’éliminer en respectant
l’environnement conformément aux dispositions légales.
Portée/Sélection de canal
La portée max. atteint jusqu’à 120 mètres. Si un autre interphone bébé ayant le même canal se
trouve dans ce rayon, il se peut que votre appareil reçoive également ces signaux. Sélectionnez dans
ce cas un autre canal. Vous trouverez des informations sur les fréquences radio au chapitre des
caractéristiques techniques.

Piles
• En cas de fonctionnement avec des piles, utilisez uniquement des piles de bonne qualité.
• Ne pas jeter les piles au feu, ni les plonger dans l’eau.
• Veuillez retirer les piles des appareils si vous n’utilisez pas ces derniers durant une période
prolongée. Les piles risquent de couler si vous les laissez en place longtemps dans
l’appareil.
• Ne pas jeter les piles usées ou défectueuses en même temps que les ordures ménagères
normales. Vous êtes tenu par la loi de déposer les piles usées et les batteries dans des
endroits de collecte appropriés.
Lieu d’installation
N’installez pas les appareils à proximité directe d’autres appareils électroniques tels que par ex. les
fours à micro-ondes ou les chaînes hi-fi car cela pourrait provoquer des perturbations mutuelles. Le
lieu d’installation a une grande influence sur le parfait fonctionnement.
Placez les appareils sur une surface plane et antidérapante. Normalement, les pieds ne marquent
pas la surface sur laquelle l’appareil est posé. La multitude de vernis et surfaces utilisés ne permet
cependant pas d’exclure l’éventualité de traces laissées par les pieds de l’appareil sur la surface sur
laquelle il est posé.
Nettoyage et entretien
Vous pouvez utiliser un chiffon sec, doux et non-pelucheux pour nettoyer les surfaces du boîtier. Ne
jamais utiliser de produits nettoyants ou de solvants agressifs. Aucun entretien n’est nécessaire
hormis le nettoyage du boîtier de temps en temps. Les pieds en caoutchouc de l’interphone bébé ne
sont pas résistants à tous les produits nettoyants. Par conséquent, le fabricant ne peut être tenu
responsable d’éventuelles détériorations survenant aux meubles ou autres.
Marquage CE
L’interphone bébé est conforme aux exigences fondamentales de la directive R&TTE, ce qui est
attesté par le marquage CE.

Le module parents fonctionne avec une pile carrée de 9 V (non fournie). Le module bébé peut
fonctionner avec le bloc d’alimentation fourni ou une pile carrée de 9 v (non fournie).
Attention : Afin de réduire la formation de champs électromagnétiques, nous recommandons
l’utilisation de piles.
3.1 Mise en service du module bébé
3.1.1 Mettre la pile en place dans le module bébé
1. Le compartiment de pile se trouve sur la face arrière.
2. Ouvrez le compartiment de pile à l’aide d'un petit tournevis.
Remarque : Par sécurité, le compartiment de pile est fermé au moyen d’une vis afin que le bébé
ne puisse pas l’ouvrir. De cette manière, vous pouvez être assuré que le bébé n’entrera pas en
contact avec les piles.
3. Raccordez le câble de pile à la pile carrée de 9 V en respectant la polarité adéquate.
4. Placez la pile dans le compartiment de pile et refermez le compartiment.
Lors du fonctionnement ave une pile, il convient de remplacer la pile lorsque le voyant de contrôle
correspondant est allumé en rouge.
3.1.2 Fonctionnement avec le bloc d’alimentation
Branchez la petite fiche ronde dans la prise prévue à cet effet sur la face arrière du module bébé et le
bloc d’alimentation dans une prise de courant (230V/50Hz). Veillez à assurer une aération suffisante
du bloc d’alimentation.
3.2 Mise en service du module parents
1. Le compartiment de pile se trouve sur la face arrière.
2. Ouvrez le compartiment de pile à l’aide d'un petit tournevis.
3. Raccordez le câble de pile à la pile carrée de 9 V en respectant la polarité adéquate.
4. Placez la pile dans le compartiment de pile et refermez le compartiment.
Il convient de remplacer la pile lorsque le voyant de contrôle correspondant
est allumé.

4 Utilisation
4.1 Le module bébé
Placez le module bébé à proximité du bébé en respectant une distance minimale d’un mètre. Afin
d’obtenir une transmission optimale, le micro intégré doit être dirigé vers l’enfant.
Sélectionnez sur l’interrupteur de canal
l’un des deux canaux A ou B. Le module parents et
le module bébé doivent être réglés sur le même canal.
Le module bébé est à présent opérationnel et le micro intégré transmet en permanence les bruits de
votre enfant.
Le voyant de contrôle
est toujours allumé en vert lorsque le module bébé est activé. Lors
du fonctionnement avec une pile, le voyant de contrôle est allumé en rouge si la pile doit être
remplacée.
Pour éteindre le module bébé, mettez l’interrupteur coulissant de canal
sur la position
ARRÊT.
Remarque : Vérifiez avant chaque utilisation que les deux appareils fonctionnement parfaitement.
4.2 Le module parents
Sélectionnez sur l’interrupteur de canal
l’un des deux canaux A ou B. Le module parents et
le module bébé doivent être réglés sur le même canal. Le module parents est à présent opérationnel.
Réglez le volume comme vous le souhaitez à l’aide de l’interrupteur coulissant sur le côté droit.
Si l’appareil fonctionne avec une pile, le voyant de contrôle
est allumé en vert lorsque la capacité
de pile est suffisante. Vous devez changer la pile si le voyant de contrôle est allumé en rouge.
Pour éteindre le module parents, mettez l’interrupteur coulissant de canal
sur la position
ARRÊT.

5 Informations importantes
5.1 Recherche de défauts
Ne fonctionne pas Vérifiez l’alimentation électrique (piles ou bloc d’alimentation) sur le module
parents et sur le module bébé.
Pas de transmission Réduisez la distance entre le module bébé et le bébé, en respectant quand
même la distance minimale d’un mètre.
Réduisez la distance entre le module parents et le module bébé.
Vérifiez l’interrupteur de sélection de canal. Le module parents et le module
bébé doivent fonctionner sur le même canal.
Transmission perturbée Sélectionnez l’autre canal sur le module parents et sur le module bébé.
Réduisez la distance entre le module parents et le module bébé.
Vérifiez l’état des piles.
Sifflement Augmentez la distance entre le module parents et le module bébé.
Diminuez le volume sur le module parents.
Bruit de fond Vérifiez l’état des piles.
Vérifiez l’interrupteur de sélection de canal. Le module parents et le module
bébé doivent fonctionner sur le même canal.
Réception étrangère Réglez l’appareil sur l’autre canal.

L'apparecchio è concepito per la trasmissione di segnali vocali, quali ad esempio rumori di bambini. I
segnali di allarme o segnali acustici di apparecchi per il monitoraggio di attività respiratorie o
cardiache NON possono essere trasmessi.

Informazioni di sicurezza
• L'apparecchio non è adatto per applicazioni medicali.

• Durante il funzionamento è necessario provvedere ad una sufficiente ventilazione di tutti i
componenti. Non appoggiare ma dei cuscini o asciugamani sugli apparecchi.
• Non utilizzare mai gli apparecchi in zone esposte al pericolo di deflagrazioni.
• Gli apparecchi sono concepiti per funzionare in ambienti protetti in un campo di
temperatura compreso tra 10 °C e 30 °C. Gli apparecchi non devono essere utilizzati in
ambienti umidi, come ad esempio in bagno o nella lavanderia. Evitare possibilmente fonti di
calore, quali ad esempio riscaldamenti, termosifoni, ecc. e non esporre gli apparecchi
direttamente ai raggi solari.
• Una volta che la batteria è completamente esaurita, occorre provvedere ad uno
smaltimento appropriato e conforme alle prescrizioni vigenti per la protezione ambientale.
Raggio d'azione/selezione canale
Il massimo raggio d'azione corrisponde a 120 metri. Nel caso in cui entro questo raggio dovesse
trovarsi un ulteriore apparecchio che trasmette sullo stesso canale, eventualmente possono essere
ricevuti anche questi segnali. Selezionare in questo caso un canale. Le informazioni riguardanti le
frequenze di trasmissione sono da apprendere al capitolo dei dati tecnici.

Batterie
• Per il funzionamento a batterie si raccomanda di utilizzare esclusivamente delle pile
pregiate.
• Non gettare mai le batterie nel fuoco e non immergerle nell'acqua.
• Nel caso in cui gli apparecchi non venissero più utilizzati per un periodo prolungato, si
raccomanda di rimuovere le batterie. Una custodia prolungata con le batterie inserite può
causare una fuoriuscita di acido dalle stesse.
• Le batterie vecchie o difettose non devono mai essere smaltite nei normali rifiuti urbani. Le
batterie e gli accumulatori vecchi, conformemente ai decreti di leggi vigenti, devono essere
smaltiti in centri di raccolta appositamente previsti.
Luogo d'installazione
Non disporre gli apparecchi nelle immediate vicinanze di altri apparecchi elettronici, quali ad esempio
forni a microonde o impianti stereofonici, poiché in questa circostanza non sarebbero da escludere
delle interferenze reciproche. Il luogo d'installazione ha un influsso determinante per garantire un
funzionamento perfetto ed irreprensibile.
Disporre gli apparecchi sopra una superficie piana e non scivolante. Normalmente i piedini di gomma
dell'apparecchio non lasciano alcune tracce sulla superficie d'appoggio. A causa degli innumerevoli
tipi di smalto utilizzati sulle superfici, non è, tuttavia, possibile escludere sempre, che sulla superficie
d'appoggio rimangano delle tracce dei piedini di gomma dell'apparecchio.
Pulizia e manutenzione
Le superfici del contenitore possono essere pulite con un panno pulito, asciutto e privo di peluria. Non
utilizzare mai dei detergenti o delle soluzioni aggressive. Oltre ad una pulizia occasionale del
contenitore dell'apparecchio non è necessaria alcuna particolare manutenzione.

L'unità genitori viene alimentata con una batteria da 9V (non compresa in dotazione). L'unità bebè
può essere alimentata attraverso l'alimentatore di rete fornito oppure una batteria da 9V (non
compresa in dotazione).
Attenzione: per ridurre la formazione di campi elettromagnetici, si raccomanda di utilizzare batterie.
3.1 Messa in funzione dell'unità bebè
3.1.1 Inserimento delle batterie nell'unità bebè
1. Lo scompartimento della batteria è situato nella parte posteriore.
2. Aprire lo scompartimento della batteria servendosi di un piccolo cacciavite.
Nota: per motivi di sicurezza lo scompartimento della batteria è chiuso con una vite, affinché
non possa essere aperto dal bebè. In tal modo si previene qualsiasi contatto del bebè con le
batterie.
3. Collegare il cavo con una batteria da 9V rispettando la corretta polarità.
4. Introdurre la batteria nello scompartimento e chiudere il coperchio.
La batteria dovrebbe essere cambiata non appena si illumina la rispettiva spia di controllo
rossa, per la capacità della batteria.
3.1.2 Funzionamento con l'alimentatore di rete
Inserire la piccola spina circolare nella boccola (13) appositamente prevista nella parte posteriore
dell'unità bebè e l'alimentatore di rete in una presa di corrente (230V/50Hz). Accertarsi che
l'alimentatore di rete sia sempre ben ventilato.
3.2 Messa in funzione dell'unità genitori
1. Lo scompartimento della batteria è situato nella parte posteriore.
2. Aprire lo scompartimento della batteria servendosi di un piccolo cacciavite.
3. Collegare il cavo con una batteria da 9V rispettando la corretta polarità.
4. Introdurre la batteria nello scompartimento e chiudere il coperchio.
La batteria dovrebbe essere cambiata non appena si illumina la rispettiva spia di controllo .

4 Impiego
4.1 L'unità bebè
Piazzare l'unità bebè in prossimità del bebè. Rispettare una distanza di almeno un metro. Per
garantire una trasmissione ottimale il microfono dovrebbe essere rivolto verso il bebè.
Selezionare a questo punto nel selettore canali
uno dei due canali A o B. L'unità genitori e
l'unità bebè devono essere sintonizzate sullo stesso canale.
L'unità bebè a questo punto è disponibile per il funzionamento e il microfono integrato trasmette
continuamente i rumori del bebè.
La spia di controllo
si illumina sempre in verde con l'unità bebè inserita. Durante il
funzionamento a batteria, la spia di controllo si illumina in rosso, non appena è richiesta una
sostituzione della stessa.
Per spegnere l'unità bebè, spingere il selettore canali
sulla posizione OFF.
Nota: Ogni volta, prima dell'uso, si raccomanda di accertarsi del funzionamento perfetto di ambedue
le unità.
4.2 L'unità genitori
Selezionare nel selettore canali uno dei due canali A o B. L'unità genitori e l'unità bebè
devono essere sintonizzate sullo stesso canale. A questo punto l'unità genitori è disponibile per il
funzionamento. Regolare il volume desiderato tramite il comando a cursore situato nella parte destra
dell'apparecchio.
La spia di controllo
si illumina in verde, quando la capacità della batteria è sufficiente. Se la spia
di controllo si illumina in rosso, si dovrebbe cambiare la batteria.
Per spegnere l'unità genitori, spingere il selettore canali
sulla posizione OFF.

1 General safety information
With the Baby Care BC-108 you have purchased a quality SWITEL product. Please read these
operating instructions carefully in order to learn about all the options. Under no circumstances open
the unit yourself and do not try to carry out your own repairs. For any claims under the warranty,
please refer to your dealer.

Intended use
The unit is designed for transmitting speech signals such as noises made by children. Warning or
signal tones from breathing or heartbeat monitors CANNOT be transmitted.
NOTE: The use of this unit CANNOT replace the personal supervision of a child or other
person requiring care. No liability that falls outside the statutory regulations can be accepted.
Safety Information
• The unit is not suitable for medicinal applications.
• Maintain a safe distance of at least one metre when using the unit.
• Use only high-quality batteries.
• For safety reasons, use only the original power supplies provided. The unit may set on fire if
unsuitable power supplies are used.
• When using a power supply, make sure that the cable and plug are in perfect condition. Kinked
or chafed cables can cause a short-circuit. Caution: Fire hazard.
• Ensure that all components are adequately ventilated during operation. Do not place pillows or
towels on the units.
• Do not use the units in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
• The units are designed for use in protected rooms with a temperature range of 10 °C to 30 °C.
The units must not be installed in damp rooms such as a bathroom or laundry room. Avoid
proximity to sources of heat such as radiators and do not expose the unit to direct sunlight.
• If the useful life of the complete equipment has expired, please dispose of it carefully in
accordance with the statutory requirements and in a manner friendly to the environment.
Range/Channel selection
The maximum range is up to 120m. If there is another Babyphone working on the same channel
within this radius, signals from this may also be received. In this case, choose another channel. You
will find information on the radio frequencies in the chapter entitled Technical Data.
Batteries
• Use only high-quality batteries in battery mode.
• Do not throw batteries into the fire or immerse in water.
• If you are not using the units over an extended period, please remove the batteries. Long-term
storage with the batteries fitted can cause the batteries to leak.
• Do not dispose of old or defective batteries with the normal household waste. You are legally
obliged to return all batteries and rechargeable batteries to suitable collection points.

Position
Do not set up the units in the immediate vicinity of other electrical equipment such as microwaves or
hi-fi systems, as this may result in mutual interference. The location has a decisive influence on
trouble-free operation.
Place the units on a flat and non-slip surface. The feet do not normally leave any marks on the
surface. However, due to the large number of varnishes and surfaces in use, it may not be possible to
prevent marks occurring on the surface due to the feet of the unit.
Cleaning and care
The surface of the case can be cleaned with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Never use cleaning agents,
particularly aggressive solvents. No attention is necessary apart from cleaning the case occasionally.
CE mark
The Babyphone complies with the basic requirements of the R&TTE Directive. This is confirmed by
the CE mark.

3 Setting up
The parent unit is operated by a 9V block battery (not included). The baby unit can be operated by
the power supply provided or by a 9V block battery (not included).
Note: In order to reduce the production of electromagnetic fields, we recommend the use of batteries.
3.1 Setting up the baby unit
3.1.1 Fit batteries in baby unit
1. The battery compartment is located on the rear.
2. Open the battery compartment with a small screwdriver.
Note: For safety reasons, the battery compartment is locked by means of a screw so that the
baby cannot open the compartment. This ensures that the baby is unable to come into contact
with the batteries.
3. Connect the battery cable to the 9V block battery, taking care to ensure that the polarity is
correct.
4. Place the battery in the battery compartment and close the compartment.
The battery should be changed if the appropriate indicator light shows red during battery
operation.
3.1.2 Operation with plug-in mains power supply
Insert the small round plug into the socket provided on the rear of the baby unit and plug the power
supply into a mains socket (230V/50Hz). Ensure that the plug-in mains power supply is adequately
ventilated.
3.2 Setting up the parent unit
1. The battery compartment is located on the rear.
2. Open the battery compartment with a small screwdriver.
3. Connect the battery cable to the 9V block battery, taking care to ensure that the polarity is
correct.
4. Place the battery in the battery compartment and close the compartment.
The battery should be changed when the appropriate indicator light comes on.

4 Operation
4.1 The baby unit
Position the baby unit near to the baby. Please observe the minimum distance of one metre. For
best transmission, the integral microphone should be pointing towards the child.
Now select one of the two channels A or B with the channel switch
. The parent and baby
units must be set to the same channel.
The baby unit is now ready for use and the integral microphone will continuously transmit any noise
made by your child.
The indicator light
will always show green when the baby unit is switched on. In battery
mode, the indicator light will show red if the battery needs to be changed.
To switch off the baby unit, slide the channel switch
to the OFF position.
Note: Check that both units are working properly each time before using.
4.2 The parent unit
Select one of the two channels A or B with the channel switch . The parent and baby units
must be set to the same channel. The parent unit is now ready for use. Set the required volume with
the slider on the right-hand side.
The indicator light
shows green when there is sufficient battery capacity. You should change the
battery if the indicator light shows red.
To switch off the parent unit, move the slide switch
to the OFF position.

Nothing happens Check the power supply (batteries or mains power supply) for the parent
and baby units.
Move the baby unit closer to the baby. Please observe the minimum
distance of one metre however.
