Introduction:
First of all, many thanks for purchasing this Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA. The Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA protects your computers against power failures and harmful surges in the power supply.
To ensure this product operates correctly, we advise you to carefully read this manual first. If despite this manual you still experience problems during installation or operation of this product, go to www.sweex.com and look under the heading service & support.
In order to fully enjoy the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA, it is important to observe the following
• Do not expose the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA to extreme temperatures. Do not place the device in direct sunlight or in the direct vicinity of heating elements.
• Do not use the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA in extremely dusty or moist surroundings.
• Protect the device against powerful shocks or jolts – they may damage the internal electronics.
• Never attempt to open the device yourself – it will cause the warranty to lapse.
Contents of the box
Prior to using the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA, check if all required parts are present. The following parts must be present in the box:
• Manageable UPS 1000 VA
• 2 x Feeder supply cable for external equipment
• 2 x spare fuses
• CD-ROM with software and manual
If one of the above parts is missing, please contact the retail outlet where you purchased the device.

*The time span during which the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA can supply power to equipment connected to it once power fails, always depends on the total load on the UPS.
Hardware Installation
1. Ensure that the computer you want to connect to the UPS is switched off.
2. Connect the power supply cable of the computer to the power outlet of the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA.
3. Connect the UPS to the mains network.
4. Switch on the UPS by pressing the button at the front of the device.
5. Switch on the computer again.
Note:
• Do not connect the USB cable before the software has been installed.
• The Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA has been designed to protect computer systems. Connecting other electrical devices is not recommended and entirely at one’s own risk.
• The UPS needs to be charged for a period of ± 8 hours in order to reach its full back-up capacity.

Software Installation
Insert the Sweex CD-ROM in the CD-ROM player. A menu appears automatically. Click the button to install the drivers.
The installation procedure is started. In the first window, click “Next”. Enter your details:
Enter your name or computer name. Under “Company Name”, enter a random name. Do not leave it blank. Under “Serial Number” enter the code starting with “PL-...” which you can find on the protective cover of the Sweex CD-ROM. Please use capitals. Click on “Next” and follow the subsequent steps to complete the installation.
Connect the USB cable between the computer and the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA. Windows will install the UPS automatically. Click “OK” to confirm a restart of the computer.
Front view
The front of the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA features 3 LEDs and a button.
• The blue LED indicates that the mains power supply is ok.
• The orange LED indicates that the UPS is charging.
• The red LED is lit in the event of a power failure. The UPS now supplies power to all devices connected to it.
• The button underneath the LEDs is the power switch.

Charging the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA
The UPS starts charging once connected to the mains network. The orange LED will be lit. The UPS will also charge when switched on via the power switch.
Setting the Sweex Manageable UPS 1000 VA
The UPS settings can be adjusted via PowerManagerLite. The icon to start PowerManagerLite is located in the bottom right of your screen. Double-click this icon with your left mouse button or click it once with your right mouse button and select “Start Monitor (W)...”.
The PowerManagerLite ma in screen appears.
Click on the various icons to change the settings.

All products under the Sweex brand are warranted for a period of three years. We do not grant support or warranties for any software and/or (rechargeable) batteries included. Settlement of guarantee only takes place via the dealer where you have purchased the product in question.
