LC100040 Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter
Introduction
First of all we would like to thank you for buying the Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter. This USB Adapter allows you to set up a wireless network easily and in no time at all. The Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter complies with all international standards for wireless communication such as IEEE 802.11b/g and CE.
The Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter is compatible with all major operating systems such as Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The USB Adapter has a maximum transmission speed of 54 Mbps. This is more than sufficient for a wireless Internet connection. Depending on the circumstances the USB Adapter has a maximum range of 30 metres indoors and up to 50 metres outdoors.
The Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter has auto fallback. This means that data transmission automatically switches back if a wireless LAN device does not satisfy the 802.11g standard, for example. The auto fallback also offers a solution if there are obstacles in the line-of-sight of the wireless LAN. For security reasons the Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter is compatible with the WEP 64/128 protocol. This means that data must first be encrypted before being submitted, making it virtually impossible for anyone to listen into any of the communications.
For the correct operation of the Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter we advise you to first read this manual carefully. If after reading the manual you still encounter problems with the installation or operation of the Sweex Wireless LAN USB Adapter you can find more information on our website on http://www.sweex.com.
