Fergus the 4x4 Instructions
Installation Instructions
1. Check using the parts list that all components have been delivered.
2. Plan the final position of the play equipment, ensuring there is sufficient space
NB: Please consider the extent and HIC of surfacing (see surfacing plan).
Ensure that bow and stern are faced away from thoroughfares and desire lines
(in the direction of movement).
3. Sort and identify parts before assembly, only ground fixing (THF045) is
required at this stage
4. Excavate the foundation holes in accordance with the plan and play level,
ensuring the hole is dug to achieve a horizontal finish to the bottom of the
hole.
5. Place 4x4 ground fixing in to the foundation hole and level top plate.
6. Check the unit will sit at the correct level and position as per the elevations
and plans provided before tightening bolts now fill the foundation holes to the
required depth with concrete. Float off upper surface to enable run-off away
from ground fixing uprights.
7. Leave foundation to fully set before continuing to install the 4x4 body (at least
2-3 days, setting times may vary)
8. Fix 4x4 deck panel (SSB086) to top frame of mechanism, DO NOT tighten
bolts or attach covers until assembly is complete.
NB: Use the panel fixing general sheet supplied to select the correct bolts from
the fixing kit (be advised that a few surplus fixings are generally included).
We suggest fixing countersunk bolts first as on occasion another panel may
be layered on top of them. It is important not to fully tighten the fixings until all
panels have been assembled and the unit is stood within the foundation holes.
