Hard Drive Installation Prerequisites

When sel ectin g HDDs, H DD manu factu rers al ways ur ge use rs to cho ose ente rpris e/sur veill ance gr ade dri ves for 2 4/7 sur veill ance op eratio ns to ens ure sys tem sta bilit y. The s urveil lance h ard dri ves on ou r Appro ved Vend or List ( AVL) are e ngine ered to w ork con tinuo usly, wi thsta nd hig h-temp eratu re fluc tuati ons and e quipm ent vib ratio ns found i n any typ ical su rveil lance a pplic ation . To redu ce erro rs occu rred on yo ur RAID d ata and t he chan ce of the r ecord ing per forma nce bei ng affe cted, it is h ighly re comme nded to u se HDDs l isted o n our App roved Ve ndor Li st (AVL ) to ensu re reli abili ty. Inserting Hard Drive into Drive Tray
1. Op en the fro nt pane l of the EM R syste m.
2. Pre ss the re lease b utton ( indic ated by t he blue a rrow) on the b ezel, t he beze l panel s hould o pen aut omati cally and ge ntly pu ll out th e hard dr ive tra y.
3. Pl ace the ha rd driv e into th e drive t ray. Make s ure the h ard dri ve’s int erfac e
conn ector i s the ope n side of t he driv e tray a nd its la bel sid e facin g up. Adj ust the dr ive’s l ocati on unti l the mou nting hole s in the dr ive tra y are ali gned wi th thos e on the ha rd driv e. Secu re the dr ive wit h four sup plied f lat hea d screw s.

Insert the LAN Cable to the LAN Port to a local network where your IP Camera reside.
(Connection to analog cameras is also available via an IP encoder).
Connect an external monitor capable of 32 bit or higher color quality to the VGA port to view the
VMS interface.
Insert mouse, keyboard to the USB for operating VMS on the SMR system.

Diff erent n etwor k setti ngs can b e appli ed to 2 LAN s if there a re 2 LANs o n the sys tem. It is re comme nded to s elect “ Auto de tect” , since t he syst em will d etect i f there i s any DHC P server a vaila ble. If y es, it wi ll assi gn an IP ad dress .
You al so can sel ect “Us e fixed I P” to inp ut the IP a ddres s of this N VR and ma ke this N VR as a DHC P ser ver. After s elect ing, in put the r eleva nt infor matio n and che ck “Ena ble DHC P servi ce on thi s
NVR” t o confi rm the se tting .
