2: INTRODUCTION
This ball point pen is a high definition video recorder with built in memory. With simple operation, elegant design, small size, it is easy to carry. It is an essential utility in business, education, security, media, justice, tourism, and health along with numerous other fields.
3: OPERATION:
A: Parts Description:
A: 1 Microphone and camera:
Camera (1) is used to obtain a high quality image or video recording.
Microphone (2) a miniature hidden microphone records sound in the surrounding area.
A: 2 On/Off-Video/picture button
Operating button (3) Press the button for power on, start recording, stop recording and still image operation.

A: 3 Mode Indicator:
Mode indicator (4) Blue light and red light indicates working mode and status of DVR pen.
A: 4 Reset:
Use the reset (5) if the video recorder stops responding; use a suitable non-metallic tool to push the reset button that is recessed in the body of the pen.
A: 5 USB Connection:
The standard USB connection (6) is used to connect to your computer or with the supplied wall charger: Also used to transfer picture and video files to your computer.
B: ON/OFF:
Press button (3) for 2 seconds to start the device. The pen is now on and in the PHOTO mode Blue light on. To turn the pen off press and hold the button (3) for 4 seconds and the device will save any recorded files and turn off.
C: TAKING A PHOTO:
Press button (3) for power on, the device enters into standby mode for photography and the Blue light is on. Press button and release button (3) and this will take a photograph.
D: RECORD VIDEO & AUDIO:
D: 1 Entering the video mode:
Turn the pen on by depressing button (3) the Blue light will turn on, now press button (3) again for 2 seconds and a Red light will come on you are now in Video standby mode.
D: 2 Start video record mode:
Press button (3) for 2 seconds to start recording video and audio. The RED light will be flashing
slowly. When the red light is flashing press the button (3) for 2 seconds to stop recording video and audio and save the file to memory. The Red light will be on to indicate video record standby mode. In order to ensure the safety and the size of the file the system will automatically save the video file every 50 minutes and then continue recording.

D: 3 Stop video record mode:
In the video mode, Red light on. Press the button (3) for 2 seconds to exit the video record
mode. The Red light will be off and the Blue light will be off.
NOTE: Make sure there is adequate light in the area surrounding the camera and that the camera is not blocked by other objects. Keep the camera upright and stable while recording to achieve the best possible video quality. Objects being recorded should be more than 50cm from the camera and take care not to block the microphone to achieve the best possible audio.
E: DVR PEN AS A PC WEB CAM:
When the power is on by pushing button (3) and using the supplied USB extension and charging you can connect the DVR Pen to your PCs USB port and your DVR Pen cam be used in Web Cam mode. In this mode your camera can be used as a PC Web Cam you can video chat with your friend’s online, take photos, ect.
NOTE: Depending on your computer systems configuration, your computer may not detect the device as a camera but as a removable disk drive, you will need to install the device drivers from the supplied device software mini compact disk.
F: CONNECTING THE DVR PEN TO YOUR PC:
In standby mode or with the Pen off, connect your DVR pen to your PCs USB port. Navigate to
my computer (On most operating systems) the DVR pen will show up as a removable disk drive click on the assigned drive number and you will see REC click again on 100MEDIA and you will find your saved video and picture files.
NOTE: DEPENDING ON YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM THE PRECEDING INSTRUCTIONS COULD VARY
SLIGHTLY.
G: CHARGING THE DVR PEN:
Connect your DVR Pen to your PCs USB port to start charging, during the charging process the
red light will flash slowly, when your DVR Pen is fully charged the Red light will stop flashing.
You can also charge your DVR Pen with the supplied standard 110 volt wall socket charger and
adapter cable.
NOTE: ALWAYS TRY TO RUN THE LITHIUM BATTERY IN YOUR DVR PEN TO ITS LOWEST CAPACITY AND FULLY CHARGE THE BATTERY THIS WILL MAKE YOUR BATTERY LAST INDEFINITLY.

H: SET TIME & DATE:
The DVR Pen recorder provides you with a function to display or hide the time and date on your
recorded video. The format is as follows YEAR/MONTH/DAY HOUR/MINUTES/SECONDS.
H1: SETTING THE TIME DATE FUNCTION:
Insert the supplied mini compact disk find executable file WRITETIME04_30 double click on the
file and your PC will automatically update the time and date function to the same time as your PC.
I: TROUBLESHOOTING:
When the storage space on your DVR Pen is insufficient, the blue light and red light flashes
alternately for approximately 5 seconds then automatically saves the recorded file and shuts down. When this occurs copy the recorded video files to your PC then delete the files from your DVR Pen this will free up the memory on the DVR Pen and allow you to continue recording.
