• Safety Pins are constructed using either hardened brass or high carbon steel, with a nickel or gilt plating

• These coatings strengthen the safety pin and help protect against rust and corrosion

• Nickel plating results in a silver colored finish

• Gilt plating results in a gold colored finish

• Black Safety Pins are constructed using either hardened brass or steel which is then specially treated to give the pins a

black matte finish

• The oxidation process makes these safety pins rust resistant

• Coilless Safety Pins are constructed using either hardened brass or high carbon steel, with a nickel or gilt plating

• These coatings strengthen the safety pin against rust and corrosion
