SECTION 1: NETWORKING YOUR DVR
SECTION 1
Networking your DVR
1.1 Features
The DVRM6 has three networking options:
Connection to an internal network. If you are connecting the DVMR6 to a network with a router,
use the Ethernet port under camera input #1. This is also known as the ‘uplink’ port. This will allow the DVR to obtain an IP address from your network’s router or DHCP server.
Direct computer connection. If you are connecting your computer directly to the DVRM6, attach
your network cable to any network port OTHER THAN the one below the Vin1 BNC connector. These inputs are tied to the DVRM6’s internal router. Ensure that your computer is set to automatically obtain an IP address. The DVRM6 will assign your computer a new direct IP address. You may have to recongure the your computer network settings for the adjustments to take place.
Cellular connection. Ensure your DVR has the latest router rmware for the greatest air card
support. We strongly recommend a static IP address for the greatest reliability and ease of use. Currently, we recommend the Sprint U727 and the Verizon U760. Insert the card into either the USB1 or USB2 port.
1.2 Install the client software
Client software for access to the DVRM6 with a Microsoft® Windows operating system is available through the Supercircuits.com DVRM6 product page.
