INTRODUCTION
The MFD10 capacitor tester can reliably test all capacitors from 0.01 µF to 9,999 µF. This
includes all types of start and run capacitors used in the refrigeration and air conditioning
industries. The MFD10 is designed to meet all industrial specifications and service
requirements.

TTERY INSTALLATION
Remove battery cover on back of unit and install three AAA batteries.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Disconnect capacitor from all power sources.
2. If the capacitor has a bleed resistor, it must be detached before testing.
3.
Discharge capacitor. Failure to discharge the capacitor may cause the protective
fuse to open. (P/N MFDFUSE)
4. Attach magnetic leads to capacitor terminals. It is important to ensure good contact
to the capacitor terminals. If using alligator clips, be sure to securely slide them over
magnetic leads.
5. Press button. Capacitor value will show on the LED display. Note that it can
take up to 10 seconds for the capacitor value to show on the LED display.

Note: The unit will read for open capacitors. The unit will read for shorted
capacitors.
