Four of the most commonly used compression gaskets are available in both 50
and 100 foot coils. Gaskets Numbers 1160 and 1051 are designed for forming
easy corner curves with a short radius of 6" standard. Smaller radius curves to 2"
minimum radius can be made with simple notching. All gasket material is made
of refrigeration grade 100% virgin vinyl and is F.D.A. acceptable.
Designed for universal replacement on refrigerators and freezers when original
equipment replacement frame is not available. The illustrated cross sections
show the two most popular frames used where the clearance between the door
and the cabinet body is 5/8" to 3/4". Each gasket is furnished with (4) L-shaped
sections complete with factory welded corners. The magnetic insert strip is
furnished in a roll. Both the gasket and magnetic strip can be easily cut to size.
Gasket material is made of refrigeration grade virgin vinyl (F.D.A. acceptable)
and will provide long life and ease of installation.

Same material and packaging specifications as Universal Kits shown above
except these have been designed to have the exact same gasket profile as the
G.E. models they are replacing.
EXACT SIZE REPLACEMENTS - O.E.M. TO SUPCO GASKET CROSS REFERENCE
All SUPCO Replacement Door Gaskets are made of 100% virgin vinyl, to meet or exceed original equipment manufacturers specifications. Each gasket is packaged in a
reinforced corrugated box to meet shipping and stocking requirements. All gaskets have factory welded square corners to assure proper fit. Magnetic gaskets have
magnets installed prior to sealing. Some magnetic gaskets have magnets installed on only three sides to allow for ease of opening the refrigerator door.
NOTE: (BR) Indicates BROWN colored gasket; (TN) Indicates TAN or BEIGE colored gasket; (BK) Indicates BLACK colored gasket. Bold indicates NEW gasket.

Installation Tips
Pre- Installation Tips for Magnetic Gaskets
• Clean cabinet seal surface and any food reserve left under the old gasket.
• Allow the gasket to reach room temperature before removing from carton.
• When carrying or handling gasket, carry it by the corners to prevent breakage of the internal magnetic tape.
• For those refrigerators using a three-sided magnetic gasket, always install as removed, the balloon side (non-magnetic) to the hinge side
of the refrigerator.
Removing Defective Door Gasket and Installing New
• Before removing defective gasket determine how it is secured by pulling back on the inner edge of gasket. (Figures1 and 2 below).
Below are listed some of the methods employed.
• Procedure A - Retainer Mount - See Figure 1
• You should now be able to close the door and check for alignment. If door alignment is necessary, loosen slightly all the retainer screws
•Procedure B - Panel Mount - See Figure 2
Step 1. Where metal retainers are used loosen screws across top and half way down each side. Loosen only enough to enable
the gasket to be pulled out of the retainer. Start to remove gasket across top, then each side to point where screws are
still secure.
Step 2. Take new gasket and starting at the top of the door, slip the lip of the gasket under the retainer. Continue down each
side until you reach the point where old gasket is still retained.
Step 3. Tighten screws across top and down each side to about 2 screws above the old gasket.
Step 4. Loosen lower screws to remove remaining old gasket.
Step 5. Install remaining secton of new gsket and tighten screws.
and flex the door in opposite direction to ensure proper door seal contact when closed. When properly aligned, grasp edge of door
about mid-point and slowly open door as to not warp, and re-tighten all screws. On some doors the hinge side seal may tend to roll as it
closed against the cabinet shell. In production, petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline)is used on hinge side of the gasket surface to allow door
gasket to slide into place. Petroleum jelly can also be applied on the new gasket to correct such a condition.
Step 1. Where screws or clips are used without metal retainers, the above steps can be followed. However screw or clips have
to be removed step by step where they were only loosened on retainer style. Replace gasket as above and tighten top
screws and top sides before removing lower and bottom screws.
Step 2. Follow procedure A - Steps 4 and 5.
Non-Magnetic Gasket Installation - See Figure 3
• This gasket design is used on mechanical latch type doors and requires the same installation procedures as in either A or B depending
on whether it's a retainer or panel mount.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This carton has been designed for this gasket to minimize deformity and yet provide a
Suitable package that is acceptable for parcel post shipment, plus providing convenience
And ease of storage and handling. Allow the gasket to attain room temperature before
Removing from the carton.
RESTORING DEFORMED GASKETS
If a gasket is found to be deformed after a long storage, heat the deformed sections within
a pan of hot water or with an electric heater, hair dryer, or a 150 to 300 watt light bulb.
Move the source of heat back and forth over the deformed sections to maintain even warming, maintaining a distance three (2)
to four (4) inches between the gasket and heat source. Continue applying the heat until the gasket resumes its original shape.
Also reshaping the warm gasket by hand will speed-up the process.
It should be noted that this same procedure may be used to correct deformed gaskets already installed on a unit providing
caution is used not to damage the inner door panel.
PROPER HANDLING OF MAGNETIC GASKETS
Allow the gasket to reach room temperature before removing it from the carton. When carrying or handling the gasket, carry it
by the corners to prevent breakage of the flexible magnet. SHOULD THE MAGNET BE FOUND TO BE BROKEN, IT WILL NOTIMPAIR ITS EFFECTIVENESS.
When a gasket with magnet on three sides balloons section on the fourth side is installed on the door, be sure the balloon
section is on the hinge side.
