Product Description
The in-wall smart switch is a Z-Wave device designed to work with various types o f light sou rces. It ma y be connected to two-wire or three-wire configurati on so it can op erate wit h or without neutral lead. The switc h can switch ON/OFF connected light source either thr ough Z-Wave devices or through th e wall swit ch connected directly to it.
The switch can be included and operated in any Z -Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices fro m other manufacturers and/or other applications . All non-ba ttery ope rated nodes within the network will act as repeaters regardless of vendor to incre ase relia bility of t he network.
The encryption mode that the switch supports is S2 Unau thentic ated. Whe n the switch is being included into a Z-Wa ve networ k, you can us e your primary controller/gateway to enabl e encrypt ion mode or d isable encryption. (The primary controller/gateway s hall supp ort encry ption mode configuration). The s witch supports OTA and can upda te firmwa re wirele ssly.

Inclusion (adding to a Z-Wave n etwork)
1. Set primary controller/gateway into inclusio n mode (Ple ase refer t o your primary controller ’s manual on how to turn your controller into inclusion ).
2. Power on the in-wall switch and set it into inc lusion mo de. There are two methods to set the in-wall switch into inclusion mode:
2
Page 3
1)Repower on the switch, it will be set into inc lusion mo de automa tically, and waiting to be i ncluded .
2)Tripl e press the a ction button on the switch, it will set the switch into inclu sion mode .
Exclusion (removing from a Z-Wave netw ork)
There are two exclusion methods:
Method 1: Exclusion from the primary controller/g ateway as f ollows:
1. Set th e primary controller/gateway into exclus ion mode (P lease ref er to your primary controllers manual on how to set your controller into excl usion).
2. Triple press the action button, the switch will be set to e xclusio n mode, and w aiting to be excluded, then the switch will be excluded from the network .
Method 2: Factory reset the switch will force it to be excluded from a n etwork. ( please re fer to the part “Factory Reset” of this manual)
Note: Factory reset is not recommended for exclusio n, please u se this pro cedure only if the primary controller/gateway is missing or other wise inop erable.
Factory Reset
Press and hold down the action button for over 1 0 seconds , the switc h will be res et to factory defaults.
Association
Z-Wave de vices con trol othe r Z-Wave devi ces. The relationship between on e device co ntrolli ng another device is called association. In order to co ntrol a different device, the controlling device nee ds to maint ain a list of devices that will receive controll ing comma nds. These lists are called associ ation gro ups and the y are always related to certain events (e.g. button pre ssed). In c ase the eve nt happens all devices stored in the respective association group will re ceive a com mon wirel ess command.

Description
1. When press and hold down “Reset” button for 10S to reset the switch, send "Device Reset Locally Not ificati on CC" to associated devices of this group to report factory re set information.
2. When load state changes, send "Basic Repo rt CC" to associated devices of this group.
3. When over temperature is detected, send “Emergen cy shutoff status" to Lifeline.
Set and unset associations:
(Note: All association information will b e cleared a utomati cally once the switch is excluded from a network.)
Set association by operating primary con troller /gatewa y to send packets to the switch:

Node Information Frame
The Node Information Frame is the business card of a Z-Wave device. It contains informat ion about t he device type and the technical capabiliti es. The inclusion and exclusion of the device i s confirm ed by sending out a Node Information Frame. Besi de this it ma y be needed f or certai n network operations to send out a Node Information Frame.
How to send out Node Information Frame:
When the switch is set to inclusion/exclusion mode ag ain, it wil l send out Node Information Frame, there are 2 kinds of operation as follows:
1. triple press the action button, the switch will be set t o inclusi on/excl usion mode, then send out Node Information Frame.
2. When the switch is under inclusion mode, th ere are two k inds of ope ration:
1) Triple press inclusion/exclusion but ton, the sw itch will b e set to inclusion mode again, and send out Node Information Frame.
2) Power off and power on t he switch , it will be se t to inclusion mode automatically, and send ou t Node Information Frame.

The Bypass is a device designed to work with the i n-wall sm art switc h. It shoul d be used in case of
connecting LED bulbs or energy saving comp act fluor escent la mps. The Bypass prevent s flicker ing of the
LED lights and glowing of the turned off comp act fluorescent lamps. In the case of 2-wire connection , the
Bypass allows to reduce minimum power of loa d require d by the swit ch for corr ect operation. The Bypa ss
provides powering of the switch in case of con trollin g the low loa ds of minimum power down to 5VA (for
