CP2000 Supplemental 3.1 for
Solaris 8 Read Me
This Read Me document is written for users of the Netra™ CP2000 Supplemental 3.1
CD, which is dependent upon the Solaris™ 8 1/01 operating environment and
compatible versions (such as the Solaris 8 4/01 and the Solaris 8 7/01 operating
environments) provided by Sun Microsystems.
Information on hardware, software, firmware, and documentation is located at the
product website:
http://www.sun.com/microelectronics/boards/cp/2060/details.html
http://www.sun.com/microelectronics/boards/cp/2040/details.html
Caution – Packages included in the CP2000 Supplemental 3.1 CD are incompatible
with earlier releases of CP2000 packages. These incompatibilities come from the
changes in private interfaces.
Software Information
Changes to the private interfaces require that you use the pkgrm(1M) command to
remove any existing CP2000 packages on your system before proceeding.
Caution – You must install your system using the Solaris 8 1/01 operating
environment or a compatible version. The CP2000 Supplemental 3.1 CD contains
additional features for the CP2000 Supplemental 3.1 boards, such as watchdog timer
support. For information on how to obtain the CD, please refer to the product
website.

■ Use the serial console
■ Log in as root
■ Insert the unbundled CD (Part # 704-7710-10) into the system CD ROM drive
The CD contains these files:
■ Three directory files, each containing an install_cluster script:

8u4_CP2000_3.1/
8u5_CP2000_3.1/
■ Two README files (pdf and text versions)

■ A copyright file
To install hot swap (not supported for diskless clients):
As root, cd to the directory 8u3_CP2000_3.1/ and execute ./install_cluster
