conditions. The actual run time of your humidifier is dependent on numerous
variables such as:

Fill the tank all the way full, place it on the base, let the water empty into
the base until it stops bubbling, then refill the tank full again. This ensures
maximum water capacity and will extend run time.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
When not using your humidifier for an extended period of time:
1.
Clean, rinse and thoroughly dry the humidifier as directed in weekly maintenance. DO NOT leave any water in the
unit when storing. Leaving water in the unit may render the unit inoperable for the following season.
2. Place the humidifier in the original carton and store in a cool, dry place.
3 Wait for the heating element to cool completely, and then clean the heating element with a damp soft cloth.

4 Remove the tank cap. Do not store with the tank cap in place.

Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available,
replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT
attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is not transferable.
Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. JCS dealers, service
centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and
conditions of this warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or
misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly,
repair or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an authorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not
cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.
What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?
JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied or
statutory warranty or condition.
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a
particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty.
JCS disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or otherwise.
JCS shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use
the product including incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or loss of profits, or for any breach of
contract, fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought against purchaser by any other party.
Some provinces, states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages
or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province,

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric

16. This humidifier requires daily and weekly
maintenance to operate appropriately. Refer to daily
and weekly cleaning procedures. Use only cleaners
and additives recommended by the manufacturer.
Never use gasoline, glass cleaner, furniture polish,
paint thinner, or other household solvents to clean
any part of the humidifier.
17. Excessive humidity in a room can cause water
condensation on windows and some furniture. If this
happens, turn the humidifier OFF.
18. Do not use humidifier in an area where humidity
level is in excess of 50%. Use a hygrometer,
available at your local retailer or through the
manufacturer, to measure the humidity.
19. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or
mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void
your warranty. The inside of the unit contains no
user serviceable parts. All servicing should be
performed by qualified personnel only.
20. Never place housing under water flow, or immerse in
liquids.
21. DO NOT plug in the cord with wet hands, electric
shock could result.
22. DO NOT pour water in any openings other than the
water tank.
23. If you have a warm mist humidifier, allow unit to cool
before refilling water tank or maintenance as the
heater bulb is hot.
24. To prevent damage to surfaces, do not place
humidifier under overhanging surfaces.
25.NEVERoperateunitwithoutwaterinthetank.
26. Do not move unit after it has been used until unit
cools completely.
27. Use both hands when carrying full tank of water.

CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION
NOTE: This is an electrical appliance and requires attention
when in use.
NOTE: If moisture forms on the walls or windows of the
room, turn off the humidifier. The room already has plenty
of humidity and additional moisture may cause damage.
NOTE: DO NOT block air inlet or outlet.
Cord and Plug Installation Safety Instructions:
The length of cord used on this appliance was selected to
reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping
over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary an
approved extension cord may be used. The electrical
rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater
than the rating of the humidifier (refer to the rating
information placed on the humidifier). Care must be
taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be
pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.
HOW WARM MIST WORKS
Your Sunbeam® Warm Mist humidifier is designed to
allow the proper amount of water to flow out of the tank.
Air is drawn in through the grill openings located in the
back of the unit and mixed with steam in the misting
chamber. The warm mist is then dispersed out of the top
of the misting chamber through the outlet grill and into
the room.
NOTE: A humidity level below 20% can be unhealthy
and uncomfortable. The recommended humidity level is
between 40%-50%.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Be sure the humidifier is switched off.
2. Select a location for your humidifier, on a flat level
surface about 4 inches (10cm) away from the wall.
DO NOT place the humidifier on a finished floor or
near furniture, which can be damaged by too much
moisture or water. Place on a moisture resistant surface.
3. Remove the tank from the main housing.
4. Bring the tank to the sink, turn upside down and
twist off the tank cap by turning counter clockwise.
Fill tank with cool, fresh tap water. DO NOT fill with
warm water as this may cause leaking. Replace the
cap on tank FIRMLY. The tank will hold 1 gallon of water.
5. Make sure the safety lock is rotated completely to the
locked position. Place tank back on to the housing.
The tank will immediately begin to empty into the base.
6. Plugthehumidifierintoa120Velectricaloutlet.
MEDICINE TRAY
There is a medicine tray located on top of the mist chamber
grill. To use, pour designated humidifier medication into the
tray and then turn on your humidifier as directed.

• DONOTaddmedicationtothemedicinetraywhenthe
unit is already operating.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT:
1. Press the Power Button (
NOTE: This humidifier is featured with rapid steam.
After powered on, the humidifier will begin to mist
within 1 minute. A boiling noise is normal. To
minimize the noise level, operate the unit at low setting.
* Visible mist under 1 minute was measured using
water at an average temperature of 65°F (18°C).
2. After the unit begins misting, the humidifier will run
at Hi setting (Hi indicator light will illuminate). Press
the Mist Button( ) to switch to the Lo setting and
the Lo indicator light will illuminate.
3. To switch the humidifier off, press the Power Button
until all indicator lights go off.
WARNING: DO NOT move the humidifier with water in
the tank or the humidifier base. The moving action of the
water may activate the water tank’s release nozzle and
overfill the humidifier base. This may cause the
humidifier to function intermittently, or stop emitting
mist. Should this occurs, simply remove the excess water
from the humidifier base.

RESET PROCEDURE
When the water in the tank is empty and the water in the
heating chamber is almost empty, the Automatic Shut Off
will activate to prevent overheating. The humidifier will
stop operation until the water tank is refilled and
humidifier is reset as below:
1. Switch OFF the humidifier and unplug.
2. Remove and refill the water tank, follow the "Daily
Maintenance" and Pre-Operating Instructions to clean
and refill the water tank. Replace the tank onto the unit.
3. Allow 15 minutes for the Automatic Shut off to reset.
4. After 15 minutes, plug in the unit and switch ON the
humidifier to begin operation. Within 1 minute, the
unit will begin to produce moisture. If the unit does
not start working, it is still too hot. Unplug the unit,
wait 15-30 additional minutes, plug the unit back in.
The unit should now be cool enough and operate
normally.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
The following maintenance procedures must be
routinely followed in order to ensure proper,
efficient operation of your humidifier. The unit
WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY if it is not cleaned
properly.
When the unit is in use, daily and weekly maintenance is
recommended. Regular weekly cleaning prevents scale
buildup on the heating element and tray. It also prevents
micro-organisms from growing on the tray and tank. This
ensures that maximum efficiency will be achieved.
We cannot over-emphasize how essential proper
cleaning is to the maintenance and continued use
of your unit and to the avoidance of algae or
bacteria build-up.

Allow to cool before maintenance.
1. Before cleaning, switch OFF the humidifier and
unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
2. Remove the water tank then unlock the humidifier
housing by rotating the safety lock towards the front
of the unit. Lift housing up from the humidifier base
(see Figure 2).

3. Empty water and minerals from the base and place in
the top rack of the dishwasher. This will remove any
sediment and dirt that has accumulated in the base.
NOTE: It is imperative that the base is cleaned properly.
The base is dishwasher safe (top rack ONLY) for easy cleaning.
4. Wipe the heating element clean with a soft cloth after
it has had a chance to cool.
5. Replace housing and engage safety lock. The
Electronic Thermal Control Heating element is lined
with a coating that is designed to provide the easiest
cleaning and prolong the operating efficiency of the
humidifier. DO NOT use any metal or hard objects to
clean the Heating Element. Never use detergents,
gasoline, kerosene, glass cleaner, furniture polish,
paint thinner or other household solvents to clean
any part of the humidifier.
WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
Remove Scale: Allow to cool before maintenance.
1. Repeat steps 1-5 in the Daily Maintenance section.
2. Clean tray, heating element and heating element
shroud by filling tray with water solution containing
8-oz of undiluted white vinegar. Allow tray, heating
element and heating element shroud to sit in water
solution for 20 minutes. Clean tray, heating element
and heating element shroud with a soft brush.
Dampen a cloth with undiluted white vinegar and
wipe out entire tray/base, heating element and
heating element shroud area to remove scale.
3. Rinse with clean warm water to remove scale and the
white vinegar solution before beginning to disinfect
the tank.
4. Wipe the heating element clean with a soft cloth after
it has had chance to cool.
Disinfect tank:
1. Fill tank with 1/2 teaspoon of chlorine bleach and
1/2 gallon (1.9L) of water.
2. Let the solution stand for 20 minutes, swishing every
few minutes. Wet all surfaces.
3. Empty the tank after 20 minutes, and rinse well with
water until the bleach smell is gone. Dry with a clean
cloth or paper towel.
4. Refill the water tank with cool water; replace the
water tank. Repeat ALL Operating Instructions.

La longitud del cable de este artefacto fue seleccionada para

CÓMO FUNCIONA EL AIRE CALIENTE
El humidificador de vapor caliente de Sunbeam® está
diseñado para permitir que fluya la cantidad adecuada de
agua del depósito y pase por la cámara de calentamiento
en donde el elemento de calentamiento del control
electrónico térmico calienta el agua. El aire pasa a través
de las aperturas de la rejilla que se encuentra en la parte
trasera de la unidad y se mezcla con vapor en el
receptáculo nebulizador. El vapor caliente sale por la
parte superior del receptáculo nebulizador a través de la
rejilla de salida y penetra en la habitación.
NOTA: Un nivel de humedad menor al 20% puede ser
nocivo e incómodo. El nivel de humedad recomendado es
entre el 40% y el 50%.
INSTRUCCIONES PREVIAS AL USO
1. Asegúrese de que el humidificador esté apagado.
2. Escoja una ubicación para su humidificador, sobre
una superficie plana y nivelada, separada unas 4" de
la pared. NO coloque el humidificador sobre un piso
o cerca de muebles que puedan ser dañados por la
humedad o el agua. Colóquelo sobre una superficie
resistente a la humedad.
3. Retire el tanque de la caja principal.
4. Acerque el tanque hasta la pileta, délo vuelta y
desenrosque la tapa del tanque girando en sentido
contrario a las agujas del reloj. Llene el tanque con
agua fría del grifo. NO llene con agua caliente ya
queestopuedeproducirunapérdida.Vuelvaa
colocar la tapa del tanque CON FIRMEZA. El tanque
tiene una capacidad de 1 galone de agua.
5. Asegúrese de que la cerradura de seguridad haya
girado completamente hasta la posición de bloqueo.
Ponga el tanque de nuevo en su alojamiento. El tanque

1. Presione el botón de encendido (

encendido, el humidificador comenzará a producir
vapor en 1 minuto. Es normal escuchar un ruido de
ebullición. Para reducir al mínimo el nivel de ruido,
opere la unidad en una configuración baja.
* El vapor visible producido en menos de 1 minuto
fue medido utilizando agua a una temperatura
promedio de 65 °F (18 °C).
2. Después de que la unidad comience la vaporización,
el humidificador funcionará en una configuración alta
(la luz indicadora de configuración alta se ilumina).
Presione el botón Mist (
configuración baja y luz indicadora de configuración
baja se iluminará.
3. Para apagar el humidificador, vuelva a presionar el
botón de encendido hasta que todas las luces se
apaguen.
ADVERTENCIA: NOMUEVAelhumidificadorcuando
tenga agua en el tanque o en la base. La acción de
movimiento podría activar la boquilla de descarga del
tanque de agua y saturar la base del humidificador. Si

PROCEDIMIENTO DE REINICIO
Cuando se agota el agua del tanque y casi se ha terminado
el agua en la cámara de calor, se activará el apagado
automático para evitar el recalentamiento. El
humidificador dejará de funcionar hasta que se llene
nuevamente el tanque y se reinicie del siguiente modo:
1. APAGUE el humidificador y desconéctelo.
2. Retire y vuelva a llenar el tanque de agua, siga las
instrucciones de "Mantenimiento Diario" y de
"Funcionamiento previo" para limpiar y volver a
llenareltanquedeagua.Vuelvaacolocareltanque
en la base.
3. Espere 15 minutos para que el Apagado Automático
se reinicie.
4. Después de 15 minutos, conecte la unidad y
ENCIENDA el humidificador para que comience a
funcionar. En aproximadamente 1 minuto, la unidad
comenzará a producir humedad. Si la unidad no
empieza a funcionar es que todavía está demasiado
caliente. Desenchufe la unidad, espere unos 15 a 30
minutos más, y conecte de nuevo la unidad. Ahora la
unidad debe de estar lo suficientemente fría y
funcionar con normalidad.

humidificador. La unidad NO FUNCIONARÁ
CORRECTAMENTE si no se la limpia de manera
adecuada.
Cuando la unidad está en uso, se recomienda realizar
mantenimientos diarios y semanales. Las limpiezas
semanales regulares evitan la acumulación de sarro en el
calentador y la base. Además impide el crecimiento de
microorganismos en la base. Esto garantiza que se pueda
lograr una máxima eficiencia.
No exageramos cuando hacemos hincapié en la
importancia de una limpieza adecuada para lograr
un mantenimiento y uso continuo de su unidad y
para evitar la acumulación de algas o bacterias.
MANTENIMIENTO DIARIO
Permita que se enfríe antes de realizar el
mantenimiento.
1. Antes de la limpieza, apague el humidificador y
desconecte la unidad de la toma eléctrica.
2. Retire el tanque de agua, luego desbloquee la
cubierta del humidificador girando el cierre de
seguridad hacia el frente de la unidad. Levante la
cubierta de la base de la humidificador
(ver la Figura 2).

3. Retire el agua y los minerales de la base y colóquela en
el estante superior del lavavajillas. Esto eliminará los
sedimentos y la suciedad que se ha acumulado en la base.
LIMPIEZA / MANTENIMIENTO
NOTA: Es sumamente importante que la base se limpie
correctamente. La base se puede lavar en el lavavajillas
(ÚNICAMENTE en el estante superior) con facilidad.
4. Pase un paño suave sobre el calentador para
limpiarlo una vez que se haya enfriado.

Vuelvaacolocarlacubiertadelhumidificadory
ajuste el cierre de seguridad. El Calentador con
regulación térmica electrónica está revestido con una
capa que está diseñada para proporcionar una
limpieza más sencilla y prolongar la eficiencia
operativa del humidificador. NO utilice ningún objeto
duro o de metal para limpiar el Calentador. Nunca
utilice detergentes, gasolina, kerosén, limpiador de
cristales, lustramuebles, diluyente de pintura u otros
solventes para el hogar para limpiar cualquier parte
del humidificador.
MANTENIMIENTO SEMANALE
Extraer el sarro: Permita que se enfríe antes de
realizar el mantenimiento.
1. Repita los pasos 1 al 5 de la sección Mantenimiento
Diario.
2. Limpiar bandeja y el elemento calefactor y de
elemento calentador mortaja llenando la bandeja con
una solución de agua que contiene 8 onzas de
vinagre blanco sin diluir. Permitir bandeja, elemento

3. Enjuague con agua tibia para quitar la escama y la
solución de vinagre blanca antes de comenzar a
desinfectar el tanque.
4. Friegue suavemente el elemento calefactor y sus
alrededores con un cepillo suave.
Desinfectar el Depósito:
1. Llene el tanque con 1/2 cucharadita de blanqueador
clorado y 1/2 galón (1.9L) de agua.
2. Deje reposar las partes en la solución durante 20
minutos, removiéndolas de vez en cuando.
Humedezca todas las superficies.
3. Vacíeeltanquedespuésde20minutos,yenjuague
bien con agua hasta que el olor del blanqueador
haya desaparecido. Seque con un paño limpio o
toallita de papel.
4. Vuelvaallenareltanquedeaguaconaguafría;
vuelva a poner el tanque de agua. Repita TODAS las
instrucciones de funcionamiento.
