OBSTRETICAL PROBE CHECK VASCULAR PROBE CHECK
After applying a small amount of coupling gel,
move the probe along the palm near the thumb.
Here the normally low blood flow approximates
The picture above shows the location for a
good arterial flow signal. Coupling gel is
not visible.
the hard-to-detect fetal heartbeat.
Note: The above results by their nature are qualitative, and assume the user has some prior
experience with Doppler results. Excessive noise with a weak pickup signal can indicate a
cracked probe crystal.
