-SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS -

Refrigerant warning

This appliance is CFCand HFC-free and contains small quantities of Isobutane (R600a) which is environmentally friendly, but flammable. It does not damage the ozone layer, nor does it increase the greenhouse effect. Care must be taken during transportation and setting up of the appliance that no parts of the cooling system are damaged. Leaking coolant can ignite and may damage the eyes.

In the event of any damage:

-Avoid open flames and anything that creates a spark,

-Disconnect from the electrical power line,

-Air the room in which the appliance is located for several minutes, and

-Contact the Service Department for advice.

The more coolant there is in an appliance, the larger the room it should be installed in. In the event of a leakage, if the appliance is in a small room, there is the danger of combustible gases building up. For every ounce of coolant at least 325 cubic feet of room space is required. The amount of coolant in the appliance is stated on the rating label of the appliance. It is hazardous for anyone other than an authorized service person to carry out servicing or repairs to this appliance.

7

Take serious care when handling, moving, and using the appliance to avoid either damaging the refrigerant tubing or increasing the risk of a leak.

Replacing component parts and servicing must be done by factory authorized service personnel so as to minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts or improper service.

Energy-saving tips

Do not leave the doors of your appliance open for a long time.

Do not put hot food or drinks in your refrigerator.

Do not install your refrigerator in direct sunlight or near heat-emitting appliances such as ovens, dishwashers or radiators. Keep your refrigerator at least 12" away from heat-emitting sources and at least 2" from electric ovens.

Keep your stored food in closed containers.

You can store the maximum amount of food items in the freezer when you remove the freezer shelf or drawer. Energy consumption value stated for your refrigerator has been determined by removing freezer shelf or drawer and under maximum load. There is no harm in using a

shelf or drawer that suits the shape and size of the food to be frozen.

Thawing frozen food in the refrigerator compartment will both save energy and preserve the food quality.

3 Installation

Before starting the refrigerator

Check the following before you start to use your refrigerator:

1.Attach 2 plastic spacers as illustrated below. The spacers are intended to keep the proper distance between your refrigerator and the wall to ensure optimum air circulation. (The picture is provided as a representation and is not meant to be identical with your product.)

2.Clean the interior of the appliance

as recommended in the

“Maintenance and cleaning” section.

3.Connect the plug of the appliance to the wall socket. When the refrigerator door is opened, the internal light will turn on.

5.The front edges of the refrigerator may feel warm. This is normal. These areas are designed to be

9

warm to avoid condensation.

Electrical connection

Warning

Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized service center.

This appliance should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord is equipped with a three-pin plug that mates with standard three-prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock.

Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord supplied.

This refrigerator requires a standard 115Volts AC~ 60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong grounded receptacle. Use a 15-amp fuse.

To prevent accidental injury, the cord should be secured behind the appliance and not left exposed or dangling.

Never unplug the refrigerator by pulling the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the receptacle.

Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance.

Disposing of the packaging

The packing materials may be dangerous for children. Keep the packing materials out of the reach of children or dispose of these materials as required by your local community. The packing of your appliance is produced from recyclable materials.

Placement and Installation

If the entranceway of the room where the refrigerator will be installed is not wide enough, call an authorized service center to have them remove the doors of your appliance and pass it sideways through the door.

10

1.Install your refrigerator in a place that allows ease of use.

2.Keep your refrigerator away from heat sources, humid places and direct sunlight.

3.There must be appropriate air circulation around your refrigerator in order to achieve efficient operation. If the refrigerator is to be placed in a recess in the wall, there must be at least 2" distance from the ceiling and at least 2" from the wall. Do not place your product on soft material such as a carpet.

4.Place your refrigerator on an even floor surface. If necessary, use the adjustable front feet to level the appliance.

4 Preparation

Your refrigerator should be installed at least 12" away from heat sources such as stoves, radiators and space heaters and at least 2" away from electric ovens and should not be located in direct sunlight.

The ambient temperature of the room where you install your

refrigerator should be at least 50°F. Operating your refrigerator under cooler conditions is not recommended with regard to its efficiency.

Please make sure that the interior of your refrigerator is cleaned thoroughly.

If two appliances are to be installed side by side, there should be at least 3" distance between them.

When you operate your refrigerator for the first time, please observe the following instructions during the initial six hours.

-The door should not be opened frequently.

-Appliance must be operated empty without any food in it.

-Do not unplug the appliance.

If possible, original packaging and foam materials should be kept for future relocations.

The baskets/drawers that are provided with the freezer compartment help to lower energy consumption and provide better storage conditions.

Food contact with the temperature sensor in the freezer compartment may increase energy consumption of the appliance. Therefore any contact with the sensor(s) must be avoided.

In some models, the instrument panel automatically turns off 5 minutes after the door has closed. It will be reactivated when the door is opened or any key Is pressed.

Using your refrigerator

Setting the operating temperature

The operating temperature of both the refrigerator and freezer compartments is regulated by the temperature control.

thermostat knob to the “0” position.

Please note that there will be different temperatures in the cooling area. The coldest region of the refrigerator compartment is immediately above the crisper drawers. The interior temperature also depends on ambient temperature, the frequency with which the door is opened and the amount of food kept inside. Frequent opening of the door causes the interior temperature to rise. For this reason, it is recommended to close the door as soon as possible after use.
