IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Before the refrigerator-freezer is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as
described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock or injury when usi n g this a ppli ance, follow ba sic pr ecaut ions, inclu ding t he f ollowi ng:
•Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, do not remove grounding prong, do not use an adapter, and do not
use an extension cord.
•It is recommended that a separat e circuit, serving only y our r efrigerator-freezer, be provided. U se
receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
• Never clean refrigerator parts with flammable fluids. These fumes can creat e a fire h azard or explosion.
• Do not store or use gasoline or ot her f lammable vapors and liquids inside or in the vicinity of this or any
other appliance. The fu m es can create a fire hazard or explosion.
• Do not use inflammable s pr ays in the vicinity of this appliance.
• Before proceeding with cl eaning and maintenance operati ons, make sure the power line of t he unit is
disconnected.
• Do not connect or disconnect the electric plug when y our hands ar e w et.
• Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before cl eaning or servicing. Failure to do so can result in

•Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your refri ger at or-freezer unless it is spec ifica l ly
recommended in this manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.
•This appliance is CFC- an d HF C-free and contains a small qu ant it y of Isobutane (R600a) which i s
environmentally friendly but flammable. It does not da mag e the ozone layer, nor does it increase the
greenhouse effect. Care mu st be taken dur ing tran sportatio n and setting up of the ap pliance that no parts
of the cooling system are damaged. Leaking coolant can ignite and may damage the eyes.
•In the event of any damage:
- Avoid open flames and anything that creates a spark,
- Disconnect from the el ectrical power line,
- Air the room in which the appliance is located for several minutes, and
- Contact the Service D epartment for advice.
•The more coolant there is in an appl iance, the larger the room it should be installed in. In the event of a
leakage, if the appliance is in a s ma ll room, there is the danger of combustible gases building up. For
every ounce of coolant, at least 325 cubic feet of room space is req uired. The amount of coolant in the
appliance is stated on the data plate either on the back of the a ppl iance or on an interior wall. It is
hazardous for anyone other than an authorized Serv ice Per son to carry out servicing or re pairs to this
appliance.
•Take serio us car e when handling, moving, and using the appliance to avoi d ei t her damaging the
refrigerant tubing or incre asing the risk of a leak.
•Replacing component par ts and servicing shall be d one by factory-authorized service personnel so as to
minimize the risk of possi ble i gnition due to incorrect parts or impr oper ser vice.

•DANGER!Risk of child entrapment!
Child entrapment and suffocation are not probl ems of the past. Junked or aba ndoned refrigerators are
still dangerous, even if they will "just sit in the garage a few days."
√Befor e you throw away your old refrigerator: Take off the doors. Le ave the shelves in place so
that children may not easily climb inside.
√ Never allow children to operate, play with, or cr aw l i nside the refrigerator.
• Use two or more people to move and install the refrigerator-freezer. Failure to do so can res ult i n back or
other injury.
•To ensure proper ventilation for your appliance, the front of the unit must be com pletely unobstructed.
Choose a well-ventilated ar ea w it h t emperatures above 60°F (16°C) and b el ow 90°F (32°C). This unit
must be installed in an are a pr ot ected from the elements, such as w ind, rain, water spray or dr ips.
• The refrigerator-freezer should not be located n ext to ovens, grills or other sources of high heat.
• The appliance must be installed with all electrical, water and drain connections in accordance with state
and local codes. A standard electrical supply ( 115 V AC only, 60 Hz), properly grounded in accordance
with the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordin ances, is required.
• Do not kink or pinch the power supply cord of the refrigerator-freezer.
• The fuse (or circuit brea ker) size should be 15 amperes.
• It is important for the appliance to be leveled in order to w or k properly. You may need to make several
adjustments to lev el it.
• Check for leaks after connect ion.
• Never allow children to oper at e, play with or crawl inside the refrigerator.
• This appliance is not intended f or use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•IMPORTANT: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accel er at e the defrosting process, ot her
than those recommended by the manufacturer.
• IMPORTANT: Do not damage the re frig er ant circuit.
• IMPORTANT: Do not use electrica l app liances inside the food storage compartments of the appl ia nce,
unless they are of a type recommended by the manufact ur er.
•Do not use solvent-based clea ning agents or abrasives on the int er ior. These cleaners may damag e or
discolor the interior.
•This type of refrigerator-freezer is widely use d i n pl aces such as hotels, offices, student dormitor ies and
houses. It is most suitable for refrigerating and storing food items. Do not use this apparatus for other
than its intended purpose.

Installation
Unpacking Your Refrigerator-Freezer:
WARNING: Use two or more people to move this appliance. Failure to do so can result in back or
other injury.
• Remove tape and any labels (except the rating label) from your refrigerator-freezer before using.
• To remove any remaining tape or glue, rub the area briskly with your thumb.
• Tape or glue residue can also be easily removed by rubbing a small amount of liquid dish soap over the
adhesive with your fingers . Wipe with warm water and dry.
• Do not use sharp instruments, rubbing alcohol, flammable fluids, or abrasive cleaners to remove tape or
glue. These products can damage the surface of y our refrigerator-freezer.
• When moving the appliance, do not tilt it beyond 45 ° from the upright position.
Cleaning Before Use:
After you remove all of the packaging materials, especially the foam between the outside condenser and
cabinet, clean the inside of your refrigerator-freezer bef or e using it. See Cleaning and M aintenance.
Space Requirements:
WARNING: Keep flammable materials and vapors, such as gasoline, away from this appliance.
Failure to do so can result in fire, burns, explosion or death.
• To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator-freezer, allow for 8” (about 200mm) of space on each
side, 8” between the back of your refrigerator-freezer and the wall, and 12” (about 300mm) above the
appliance.
• If you are installing your refriger ator-freez er next t o a fixed wall, leav e suffic ient space on t he hinge side to
allow for the door to swing open.
• Never install your refrigerator-freezer near a heat source (e.g., oven, r adiator) or in direct sunlight.
Electrical Requirements:
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE GROUND PRONG.
DO NOT USE AN ADAPTOR.
DO NOT USE EXTENSION CORD.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in electrical shock, fire or death.
Before you move your refrigerator-freezer into its final location, it is important to make sure you have the
proper electrical connection. A standard 115Volt AC only / 60Hz electrical supply is required, properly
grounded and with a 15 amp fuse. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only this appliance be
provided. Use a socket that cannot be turned off with a switch or pull chain. Do not use an extension cord.
NOTE: Before performing any type of installation, disconnect the refrigerator-freezer from the elect r ic al
source. When you are fini shed, reconnect the refrigerator-freezer to the electrical source and reset the
control to the desired setti ng.

Leveling:
If the appliance is not leveled during installation, the doors may not close or seal properly, causing cooling,
frost, or moisture problems. It is very important for the refrigerator-freezer to be level in order to function
properly.
To level your refrigerator-freezer you may either turn the adjustable foot clockwise to raise that side of the
appliance or turn it counter-clockwise to lower that side.
NOTE: Having someone push against the top of the refrigerator-freezer will take some weight off the
adjustable foot and make it easier to turn.
Operation
To obtain the best possible results from your appliance, it is important that you operate it properly.
Temperature Control Panel:

③ LED 3 – moderate operating temperature

⑤ LED 5 – coldest operating temperature
Display – When the ref rigerator-freezer is first turned on, the display screen is fully lit for 3
seconds, and then only LED 3 is lit, indicating normal operation.
Each time the SET key A is pressed, the next LE D will light. When the temperature setting has been
completed, the refrigerat or will operate according to t he set value after 5 minutes.
The order of the setting is as follows:

If the appliance is operating correctly, the actual operating position of the refrigerator will be on display.

Fresh Food Storage:
Wrap or store food in the refrigerator in airtight and moisture-proof material. This prevents food odor and
taste transfer throughout the refrigerator.
• Fruit – Wash, let dry and store in refrigerator in plasti c bags or cr i sper.
• Leafy vegetables – Remove wrapping and trim or tear off bruised and discolored areas, wash in cold
water and drain. Place in plastic bag or plastic container and store in crisper.
• Fish – Use fresh fish the same day as purchased.
• Meat – Store most meat in orig inal wrapping as long as it is airt ight and moisture-proof. Re-wrap if
necessary.
• Leftovers – Cover leftovers with p lastic w rap or alu minum foil. Plastic container s w ith tig ht l ids c an also be
used.
Frozen Food Storage:
Te mperature Control (Thermostat)
When usi ng the refrigerator-freezer for the first time or after
defrosting, turn the temperature control to the “MAX” setting
for at least two hours before introduc ing the food t o be stor ed.
All frozen food products y ou purc has e sho uld be p la ced in t he
freezer compartment as soon as possible to keep the frozen
food from defrosting.
Storage recommendations printed on the packaging of the
frozen food by the manufact ur er should always be followed.

Freezing Fres h Food
Ensure that your freezing oper ations are carried out under t he most hygienic conditions as freezing alone
does not sterilize the fo od. It is advisable to freeze the food by packing it into separate meal portions and not
in bulk form. Never put hot or even warm foodstuffs into t he freezer compartment. Prior t o st or ing the frozen
food, pack it in plastic bags, aluminum sheets or freezer containers and place into the fre ezer compartment.
Never overload the freezer compartment; leave room betw een packages for proper air circulation.
NOTE: Never put bottled food or drinks in the freezer compartment.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning Your A ppliance:
1. Before you start to clean your refrigerator-freezer, unplug it.
2. Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh
cleaners.
3. Hand wash, rinse and dry all surfaces t horoughly.
4. Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing petroleum on
plastic or rubber parts.
5. Never use paper towels, window sprays, scouring cleansers or flammable fluids on plastic parts as these
can scratch or damage material.
6. Clean with a cloth soaked in the mild deter gent solution and then dry w ith a sof t cloth.
Prolonged Off Periods:
If the refrigerator-freezer will not be in use for a long period of time, pr oceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the appliance by removing the plug from the w all soc ket.
2. Clean and dry the inside as instruct ed under the heading Cleaning Y our Appliance.
3. Leave the door open to prevent any unpleasant smells from building up while the refrigerator-freezer is
not in use.
Replacing the Light Bulb:
NOTE:Before removing the light bulb, unplug the
appliance. Failure to do so could result in electrica
shock or personal injury.
1. After unplugging the AC power cord, pull down the
lamp cover to remove it.
2. Unscrew the bulb.
3. Replace with a 15-watt bulb that is the same shape
and size.

Changing the Reversible Door:
Before reversing the door swing, be sure the appliance is unplugged and empty. Provide additional support
for the doors while hinges ar e being removed. Do not depend on the door magnets to hol d the door in place.
It is recommended that two people perform this task. DO NOT lay the appliance completely flat as this may
damage the coolant system.
Remove the screws from the
middle hinge. Lift the
refrigerator door up and away
from the appliance.
Remove right bottom hinge and reserve the
screws. Remove sc rew c ov ers a t l eft co rner
and put them into the screw holes at ri ght
corner. Install left hinge by using those
reserved screws.

Remove right pin assemblies from the bottom
of the freezer and refrigerator doors. On the
opposite side, attach the replacement pin
assemblies (located in the plastic bag with the
Use and Care Manual) with a screwdriver.
NOTE: You must re-use the screws from th e
pin assemblies that are removed in this step
when attaching the new assemblies.
Place the refrigerator door on the bottom hinge.
Be sure the door is aligne d horizontally and
vertically. Attach middle hinge to refrigerator door
and attach bolt washer to t he back of the hinge,
then fix them to middle beam and fasten them with
a screwdriver.
Place the freezer door on the middle
hinge. Ensure that the door is aligned
horizontally and vertically, and that the
gasket seals on all sides before attaching
the top hinge. Attach the top hinge and
replace the hinge cover.

Troubleshooting
In case of malfunction, y ou can solve many common problems easily.
If your refrigerator-freezer does not operate:
Is the power supply cord plugged in?
If the doors will not close completely:
Are the drawers out of position?
Are the gaskets dirty?
Is the refrigerator-freezer level?
If the refrigerator-freezer is noisy when r unning:
Check that the appliance is level and is not in contact with another appliance or ar t icle o f kitchen
furniture.
If the refrigerator-freezer does not cool sufficiently:
Have the doors been opened too often, or have t hey been left open for a while? If so, it will take time
for the refrigerator-freezer to reach its set temperature.
Has the airflow at the rear of the appliance been red uced due to insufficient cl ear ance?
The following c ha r acteristics should not be looke d upon as a problem :
• A gentl e t r ickling sound caused by coolant f lowing through the pipes.
• Compressor operating at high temperature.

Within the 48 contiguous United States, for one year from the date of purchase, when this appliance is operated and
maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, warrantor will pay for factory-specified
parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a designated service
company. Outside the 48 states, all parts are warranted for one year from manufacturing defects. Plastic parts, shelves
and cabinets are w ar ranted to be manufactured to commercially acc epta ble st andards, and are not c ov er ed from d ama ge
during handling or breakage.
5-YEAR COMPRESSOR WARRANTY
1. The compressor is covered for 5 years.
2. Replacement does not include labor.
