Before the refrigerator/freezer is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as
described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire,
electrical shock or injur y w hen us ing t his app lianc e, f ollow bas ic pr ecaut ion s, in cludin g the
following:
•Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, do not remove groundin g pr ong, do not use an
adaptor and do not use an extension cord.
•It is recommended that a separ at e circuit, serving only your refrigerator, be provided.
Use receptacles that cann ot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
•Never clean refrigerator parts with flammable fluid s. These fumes can creat e a fire
hazard or explosion. Also, do not store or use gasoline or other f la mmable vapors and
liquids in the vicinity of this or any ot her appliance. The fu mes can creat e a fir e haz ard
or explosion.
•Before proceeding with cl eaning and maintenance operat i ons, unplug the refrigerator
or disconnect power. Failure to do so ca n result in electrical shock or death.
• Do not connect or disconnect t he elect ric plug when your hands are wet .
• If the supply cord is damaged, it m ust be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid haz ar d.
•Do not attempt to repair or r eplace any part of your refrigerator unless it is specifically
recommended in this man ual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualifi ed
technician.
•This appliance is CFC- an d HF C-free and contains smal l quantities of Isobutane
(R600a) which is environ me nt ally friendly, but flamma bl e. It does not damage the
ozone layer, nor does it increase the greenhouse eff ect. Care must be taken during
transportation and setting up of t he appliance that no parts of the co oling system are
damaged. Leaking coola nt can ignite and may damage the eyes.
•In the event of any damage:
- Avoid open flames and anything that creates a spark,
- Disconnect from the el ectrical power line,
- Air the room in which the appliance is located for sever al minutes, and
- Contact the Service Department for advice.
•The more coolant there is in an ap plian ce, the larger the room it sho ul d be inst alled in.
In the event of a leakage, if the appliance is in a small room, there is t he danger of
combustible gases building up. For every ounce of coolant, at least 325 cubic feet of
room space is required. The amount of coolant in th e appliance is stated on the data
plate on the back of the appliance. It is hazardous for anyone other than an authorized
Service Person to carry out servicing or repairs to t his appliance.

•Take serious care when handling, moving, and usi ng the appliance to avoid eit her
damaging the refrigerant t ubi ng or increasing the risk of a leak.
•Replacing component par t s and ser vicing shall be done by factory aut horiz ed serv ice
personnel so as to minimi ze the risk of possible ignition du e t o incorrect parts or
improper service.
•DANGER: Risk of child entrapment!
Child entrapment and suffocation are not pro bl ems of the past. Junked or abandoned
appliances are still danger ous, even if they will "just sit in the garage a few days."
√Before you throw away your old refrigerator or freezer, take off the doors. Leave
the shelves in place so that childr en may not easily climb inside.
√ Never allow children to oper at e, play with or crawl inside the refriger at or.
• Use two or more people t o move an d inst all the r efrig erat or. Failure to do so can result
in back or other injury. When moving the appliance, do not tilt it beyond 4 5° from the
upright position.
•To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator, the front of the unit must be
completely unobstructed. Choose a well-ventilate d ar ea w it h t emperatures above
60°F (16°C) and below 90° F (32°C). This unit must be installed in an area protected
from the elements such as wind, rain, water spray or drips.
•The refrigerator should not be located next to ovens, grills or other sources of high
heat.
•The refrigerator must be i nstalled with an electrical connection in accordance w it h
state and local codes. A standard electrical supply (115-120V AC only, 60 Hz),
properly grounded in acco r dance with the National Electr ical Code and local codes
and ordinances is require d.
•If there is a sudden power out age, al low at lea st 5 m inutes b efore re-power in g the unit,
in order to protect the com pr essor.
• Do not kink or pinch the power su pply cord of the refrigerator.
• The fuse (or circuit breaker) size should be 15 amps.
• It is important for the r efr iger ator t o be leve led in ord er t o wor k pro perly. You may need
to make several adjust me nt s to level it.
• Do not overfill, to allow for free circulation of air.
• To avoid damaging your fingers, do not touch frozen food w ith wet hands.
• If the appliance will not be used f or a long time, it should be turned off.
• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting proce ss.

• Do not damage the refriger ant coils.
• Do not use electric appliances inside the food storage compartments of appliance,
unless they are of the type reco m me nded by the manufacturer.
•Do not use solvent-based clea ning agents or abrasives on the i nt er ior. These
cleaners may damage or disc olor the interior.
•This appliance is not intended f or use by young children or infirm per sons without
supervision.
•This appliance is intended for household use, and should not be used for any other
purpose.
