ABOUT THE MOMCUBE®
MOMCUBE® refrigerators are designed for the storage of breast milk. Units with prefix or suffix “MC”
are part of our value line for general purpose storage applications. For more advanced temperature
stabilization, we recommend our “MLRS” series.
Temperature Guidelines for Breast Milk Storage
Storing breast milk in either a refrigerator or freezer will prolong its usability by varying lengths of time.
In the Freezer
• Freshly expressed will last optimally for up to 6 months, however up to 12 months is acceptable.
• NEVER refreeze human milk after it has been thawed.
In the Refrigerator
• Freshly expressed milk will last for up to 4 days.
• Thawed milk will last for up to 24 hours.

EQUIPMENT SAFETY
Your safety and the safety of others are very important.
We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your unit. Always read
and obey all safety messages.
This is the Safety Alert Symbol. The symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can
kill or injure you and others. All safety messages will follow the Safety Alert Symbol
and either the words "DANGER" or "WARNING".

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Before the equipment is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as
described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire,
electrical shock or injury when using this equipment, follow basic precautions,
including the following:
• Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, do not remove grounding prong, do not use an adapter, and
do not use an extension cord.
• Replace all panels before operating.
• It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only your unit be provided. Use receptacles
that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
• Never clean the equipment parts with flammable fluids. These fumes can create a fire hazard or
explosion. And do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity
of this or any other pieces of equipment. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.
• Before proceeding with cleaning and maintenance operations, make sure the power line of the
unit is disconnected.
• Do not connect or disconnect the electric plug when your hands are wet.
• Unplug the unit or disconnect power before cleaning or servicing. Failure to do so can result in
electrical shock or death.
• Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your unit unless it is specifically recommended in
this manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.

• This unit is CFC- and HFC-free and contains a small quantity of Isobutane (R600a), which is
environmentally friendly but flammable. It does not damage the ozone layer, nor does it increase
the greenhouse effect. care must be taken during transportation and setting up of the unit that no
parts of the cooling system are damaged. leaking coolant can ignite and may damage the eyes.
• In the event of any damage:
o Avoid open flames and anything that creates a spark,
o Disconnect from the electrical power line,
o Air the room in which the unit isolated for several minutes, and
o Contact the Service Department for advice.
• The more coolant there is in a unit, the larger the room it should be installed in. In the event of a
leakage, if the unit is in a small room, there is the danger of combustible gases building up. For
every ounce of coolant, at least 325 cubic feet of room space is required. The amount of coolant
in the unit is stated on the data plate inside the unit. It is hazardous for anyone other than an
Authorized Service Person to carry out servicing or repairs to this piece of equipment.
• Take serious care when handling, moving, and using the unit to avoid either damaging the
refrigerant tubing or increasing the risk of a leak.
• Replacing component parts and servicing shall be done by factory authorized service personnel
so as to minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts or improper service.
FOLLOW WARNING CALLOUTS BELOW ONLY WHEN APPLICABLE TO YOUR MODEL
• Use two or more people to move and install unit. Failure to do so can result in back or other
injury.
• To ensure proper ventilation for your unit, the front of the unit must be completely unobstructed.
Choose a well-ventilated area with temperatures above 60°F (16°C) and below 90°F (32°C). [For
optimal performance, install the unit where the ambient temperature is between 72º and 78ºF
(23º-26ºC).] This unit must be installed in an area protected from the elements, such as wind, rain,
water spray or drips.
• The unit should not be located next to ovens, grills or other sources of high heat.
• The unit must be installed with all electrical, water and drain connections in accordance with state
and local codes. A standard electrical supply (115 V AC only, 60 Hz), properly grounded in
accordance with the National Electrical Code and local codes and ordinances, is required.
• Do not kink or pinch the power supply cord of the unit.
• The size of the fuse (or circuit breaker) should be 15 amperes.
• It is important that the equipment be leveled in order to work properly. You may need to make
several adjustments to level it.
• All installations must be in accordance with local plumbing code requirements.
• Make certain that the pipes are not pinched, kinked or damaged during installation.
• Check for leaks after connection.
• Never allow children to operate, play with or crawl inside the unit.
• Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents or abrasives on the interior. These cleaners may
damage or discolor the interior.
• Use this equipment only for its intended purpose as described in this Instruction Manual.
• Keep fingers out of the “pinch point” areas. Clearances between the door and cabinet are
necessarily small. Be careful closing the door when children are in the area.

Risk of child entrapment!
Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or abandoned appliances are
still dangerous, even if they will “just sit in the garage a few days.”

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before Using Your Refrigerator
• Remove the exterior and interior packing.
• Before connecting the unit to the power source, let it stand for approximately 2 hours. This will
reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during
transportation.
• Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.
Installing your Refrigerator
MC2
• This appliance is designed to be free-standing only, and should not be recessed or built-in.
• When installing the unit, allow 5 inches of space at the back, sides and top of the unit, which
will allow the proper air circulation to cool the compressor and condenser.
• Locate the unit away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.).
Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical
consumption. Extremely cold ambient temperatures may also affect the unit's
performance.
• Avoid locating the unit in moist areas.
• Plug the unit into an exclusive, properly installed and grounded wall outlet. Do not under
any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any
questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified
electrician or authorized service center.
• After plugging the appliance into a wall outlet, allow the unit to cool down for 2 to 3 hours
before placing food inside.
MC6BI
• This appliance is designed to be free-standing or built-in.
• Your refrigerator needs at least ¼” (6.35mm) of air space at the top and on the sides, and 2”
at the rear to allow for proper air ventilation. Be sure the airflow under the appliance is not
blocked. If the refrigerator is installed next to a fixed wall, provide at least 2 ½” (6.35cm) of
room on the hinge side to allow for the door to swing open.
• Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Light will discolor the outer finish. In addition, when placed near
a heat source, such as a stove or direct sunlight, the refrigerator will consume more electricity.
Similarly, avoid installing the relatively cold locations: do not install in a place where the
temperature will fall below 55°F (13°C).
• Avoid moisture. If placed near a sink or water faucet, the evaporator will frost faster because
of the higher humidity.
CP34WMC/CP34BSSMC
• This appliance is designed for free-standing use.
• Your refrigerator-freezer needs at least 2” (50.8mm) of air space at the top and at the rear, and
¾” of air space on the sides to allow for proper air ventilation. Be sure the airflow under the
appliance is not blocked.
• Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Similarly, avoid installing in cold conditions. Do not install in a
place where the temperature will fall below 55°F (13°C).

Adjusting the Refrigerator Legs for the MC2/MC6BI
If your refrigerator seems unsteady (or you would like to close the door more easily), you can use the
four leveling legs to adjust the tilt of the unit.
Be sure the refrigerator is in its final position when adjusting the tilt and that it is plugged in and
grounded.
• Turning a leveling leg to the right will lower the refrigerator toward the position of the leg.
Likewise, turning to the left will raise the unit away from the leg.
• Several turns of the leveling legs may be required before the refrigerator tilt is properly adjusted.
• Turning both front legs equally to left will tilt the refrigerator to the rear. This adjustment makes it
easier for the door to close.
Adjusting the Legs for the CP34WMC/CP34BSSMC
Your appliance has two leveling legs, which are located in the bottom front corners of the unit. Be sure
the appliance is in its final position when adjusting the tile and that it is plugged in and grounded.
Leveling legs can be adjusted by turning them clockwise to raise the height and turning them
counterclockwise will lower the height. The doors of the appliance will close easier with the leveling
legs extended.
NOTE: It is easier to adjust the leveling legs if someone else pushes against the top of the
refrigerator to take the weight off of the legs.
Electrical Connection
This unit should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this unit is equipped with a
three-prong plug which mates with a standard three-prong wall outlet to minimize the possibility of
electrical shock.
Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third ground prong from the power cord supplied.
For personal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded.
This unit requires a standard 115-volt AC/60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong ground. Have the
wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is properly
grounded. When a standard 2-prong wall outlet is encountered, it is your responsibility and
obligation to have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet.
To prevent accidental injury, the cord should be secured behind the unit and not left exposed or
dangling.

The unit should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet which has a voltage rating that
matches the rating label on the appliance. This provides the best performance and also prevents
overloading house wiring circuits that could cause a fire hazard from overheated wires. Never unplug the
unit by pulling on the power cord.
Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the receptacle. Repair or replace immediately
any power cord that has become frayed or otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows
cracks or abrasion damage along its length or at either end. When moving the unit, be careful not to
damage the power cord.
Extension Cord
Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified
electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance.
Reversing the Door Hinge (MC6BI model)
Follow these steps if you would like to reverse the direction your appliance door opens.
NOTE: You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to reverse the door swing of this unit.
1. Unplug the appliance from the power supply.
2. Remove each of the screws on the top of the unit. There should be a total of seven (three on the
side hinge, four on the unhinged side). Be careful not to lose or discard the screws.
3. Remove the TOP HINGE and WASHER, and set aside.
4. Lift the door straight up and off of the BOTTOM HINGE.
5. Remove the screws fastening the BOTTOM HINGE and COVER to the bottom of the refrigerator
cabinet. There are five screws total, four for the hinge, one for the over.
6. Move the BOTTOM HINGE and COVER each to the opposite side of the bottom of the
refrigerator cabinet. Completely tighten the four BOTTOM HINGE screws, and tighten the
COVER screw gently.

7. Remove the two screws fastening the DOOR STOP SPACER and the DOOR STOP to the
bottom of the refrigerator door, and move the spacer and stop to the opposite side.
8. Re-insert and completely tight the screws.
9. Install the refrigerator door onto the washer and hinge pin of the BOTTOM HINGE.
10. Align the top hinge WASHER with the HINGE HOLE in the top of the door. Then, insert the TOP
HINGE pin through the WASHER and into the HINIGE HOLE.
11. Fasten the TOP HINGE with three screws and move the remaining four screws to the opposite
side. Completely tighten the seven screws.
Removing/Replacing the Base Grille (MC6BI model)
Follow these steps if you would like to remove or replace the grille at the base of your appliance.
NOTE: You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to reverse the door swing of this unit.
1. Open the refrigerator door.
2. Remove the two SCREWS. Release and remove the base grille from the refrigerator by pushing
both TABS in toward the center.
To replace the base grille:
1. Open the refrigerator door.
2. Align both TABS into position, such that the base grille snaps into place.
3. Replace and tighten the two SCREWS.

Reversing the Door Swing (CP34WMC/CP34BSSMC)
The doors of the CP34WMC refrigerator-freezer can be hinged on either side so the door swing can be
suited to the location of the installation.
1. Remove the upper hinge cap.
2. Remove the upper hinge screws. The top hinge and the freezer door can now be removed. Be sure
to place the freezer door on a soft surface to prevent any damage.
3. Remove the middle hinge screws. The middle hinge and the refrigerator door can now be removed.
4. Remove the cover for the middle hinge holes and re-attach the hinge symmetrically to the holes on
the other side, making sure the plastic hinge pin is facing upward to support the door when
reversed.
5. Tilt the refrigerator back or lay it on its back for steps 6, 7 and 8. Use a pad or blanket to protect the
floor and to avoid scratching the painted finish.
6. Remove the lower hinge screws.
7. Attach the bottom hinge symmetrically to the other side of the cabinet, making sure the hinge pin is
facing upward to support the door when reversed.
NOTE: There may be screws already in the opposite side of the cabinet for use. If not, use the screws
removed in Step 6.
8. Remove the upper hinge plastic covers and insert them in the holes from which the screws were
removed in Step 2.
9. Take off the hinge hole caps from both the freezer and refrigerator doors using a screwdriver and
insert them in the hinge holes on the opposite side.
10. Rotate the middle hinge 180°. Attach it to the refrigerator door and secure it with screws. (Do not
tighten screws completely.)
11. Attach the upper hinge to the freezer door. Attach the freezer door to the middle hinge and use the
screws to attach the upper hinge. (Do not tighten screws completely.)
12. The direction in which the doors open has now been changed.
Freezer Door Alignment (CP34WMC/CP34BSSMC)
1. Remove the top hinge cover.
2. Loosen the top hinge screws using a Phillips head
screwdriver.
3. Adjust the door or put a spacer in between, and then
tighten the screws.
4. Replace the top hinge cover.

OPERATING YOUR APPLIANCE
Temperature Controls
For the MC2 Model:
• Your unit has only one control for regulating the temperature. The temperature control is located on
the upper side of the compartment.
• The first time you turn the unit on, set the temperature control to “MAX”.
• The range of the temperature control is from position "OFF” to “MAX”. After 24 to 48 hours,
adjust the temperature control to the setting that best suits your needs. The setting of
“NORMAL” should be appropriate for most uses.
• To turn the appliance off, turn the temperature control to “OFF”.
For the MC6BI Model:
• The refrigerator’s temperature is preset at the factory for your convenience.
When first installing your refrigerator, be sure that the control is still in the midpoint setting as shown below:
• The mid-setting indicated in the section above should be ideal for regular use.
• If you need to adjust the temperature, be sure to wait at least 24 hours
between adjustments.
Storage:
For model MC6BI, we recommend not storing breast milk or other sensitive materials on the lower
door shelf or interior floor, as these locations may experience more temperature variation.
For the CP34WMC/CP34BSSMC:
• When you first start your appliance, set the dial to 4 and allow 24 hours to pass before adjusting the
temperature to your needs.
• Your unit had a temperature control dial numbered from 0 to 7. 1 is the warmest setting, and 7 is the
coldest setting. Turning the dial to 0 stops cooling in both the refrigerator and freezer sections.
Defrosting:
The MC2 and MC6BI models defrost automatically.
To defrost the freezer section of the CP34WMC:
1. Remove any stored items, and turn the temperature dial to 0. Defrosting may take a few hours.
To speed the defrosting process, keep the door open.
2. During the defrosting, water will accumulate. Use a towel to wipe off any excess water. Do not
leave your appliance unattended.
3. After defrosting, simply wipe out the interior of the freezer.
4. Reset your appliance to the desired temperature and resume normal use.
NOTE: If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off, you must wait three to five
minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the
refrigerator will not start.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning your Refrigerator
1.
Turn the refrigerator temperature control to OFF, unplug the unit and remove the contents,
including shelves.
2.
Wash the inside surfaces with a solution of warm water and baking soda. The solution
should contain about 2 tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water.
3.
Wash the shelves with a mild detergent solution.
4.
Wash the outside cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe
dry with a clean soft cloth.
5.
Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth before cleaning the area of the controls, or any
electrical parts.
CAUTION: Failure to unplug the unit could result in electrical shock or personal injury.
Replacing the Lightbulb (MC6BI model)
NOTE: The bulb should be exchanged with one of the same size, shape, and wattage, as not all
appliance bulbs are suited for your refrigerator.
1. Unplug the appliance from the power supply.
2. Remove the screw located at the back of the light shield with a Phillips head screwdriver. By
pulling the light shield back, remove the tabs attached to the refrigerator, and detach the light
shield.
3. Replace the bulb.
4. To reattach the light shield, push the tabs back in. Align the holes and insert the screw,
tightening as needed.
5. Connect the appliance to the power supply.
Replacing the Lightbulb (CP34WMC/CP34BSSMC)
1. Switch off the power to the appliance.
2. Gently pull out the clear cover.
3. Replace with the same type of lightbulb, rated at 10 watts.
4. Push the clear cover back into place.
Power Failure
Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your
unit if you minimize the number of times the doors are opened. If the power is going to be off for a
longer period of time, you need to take the proper steps to protect your food.
Vacations
Short vacations: Leave the refrigerator operating during vacations of less than three weeks.
Long vacations: If the refrigerator will not be used for several months, remove all food and unplug
the power cord. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth, leave
the door open slightly, blocking it open if necessary.

Moving your Appliance
1.
Remove all stored items.
2.
Securely tape down all loose items inside your unit (shelves).
3.
Turn the leveling legs up to the base to avoid damage.
4.
Tape the door shut.
5.
Be sure the unit stays secure in the upright position during transportation. Also, protect the
outside of the unit with a blanket or similar covering.
Energy-Saving Tips
• The unit should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing appliances
and out of direct sunlight.
• Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing in the unit. Overloading the unit forces the
compressor to run longer.
• Be sure to wrap foods properly and wipe containers dry before placing them in the unit. This cuts
down on frost build-up inside the unit.
• The unit's storage area should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper or paper toweling.
Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the unit less efficient.
• Organize and label stored items to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as
many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.

TROUBLESHOOTING
You can easily solve many common refrigerator problems, saving you the cost of a possible service
call. Try the suggestions below to see if you can correct the problem before calling the service provider.
Problem

Vibrations
Check to be sure the unit is level.
The unit seems to be making
too much noise.
A rattling noise may come from the flow of
refrigerant, which is normal.
As each cycle ends, you may hear gurgling
sounds caused by the flow of refrigerant in
your unit.
Contraction and expansion of the inside walls
may cause popping and crackling noises.
The unit is not level.
The door will not close properly.
The unit is not level.
The gasket is dirty or bent.

LIMITED WARRANTY
ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Within the 48 contiguous United States, for one year from the date of purchase, when this appliance is operated
and maintained according to instruction attached to or furnished with the product, warrantor will pay for factoryspecified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service might be provided by a
designated service company. Outside the 48 states, all parts are warranted for one year from manufacturing
defects. Plastic parts, shelves, and cabinets are warranted to be manufactured to commercially acceptable
standards, and are not covered from damage during handling or breakage.
5-YEAR COMPRESSOR WARRANTY
1. The compressor is covered for 5 years.
2. Replacement does not include labor.
ITEMS WARRANTOR WILL NOT PAY FOR:
1. Service calls to correct the installation of your appliance, to instruct you how to use your appliance, to replace
or repair fuses or to connect wiring or plumbing.
2. Service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs or broken shelves. Consumable parts (such as filters)
are excluded from warranty coverage.
3. Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation,
installation not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes, or use of products not approved by warrantor.
4. Replacement parts or repair labor costs for units operated outside the United States.
5. Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance.
6. The removal and reinstallation of your appliance if it is installed in an inaccessible location or is not installed in
accordance with published installation instructions.
