24” Freestanding Electric Ranges
Blomberg BERU 24100 SS Blomberg BERU 24200 SS Summit CLRE24
Affected Products: Above three 24” electric range models sold between
October 2012 to July 2017 with below described serial number range.
About the Recall
A voluntary recall has been issued for Summit CLRE24 electric range through Arcelik, its manufacturer.
Ranges produced between October of 2012 and September of 2016 may carry a potential shock hazard if
they are installed incorrectly. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commission.
While no Summit-branded ranges have encountered this issue, we believe it is important for our customers
to check the status of their range and follow recall procedure to prevent any possible accidents. Below are
some questions you may have about this recall.
Why is there a recall?
The recall is in place because it was determined that IF this particular model of range were to be improperly
installed on a three-wire supply infrastructure without proper grounding, the range can become energized
and pose an electric shock hazard.
Is it safe to use my range?
If the range was properly installed and grounded, it will be safe to use. However, until proper installation is
confirmed, we strongly recommend that customers immediately stop using the recalled ranges and avoid
direct contact with the product until the electricity supply is shut off.
How do I know if my range is subject to recall?
You can identify whether your CLRE24 is subject to recall by inspecting the serial number located on a tag
inside the oven. Ranges with serial numbers that begin with a 12, 13, 14, 15, or if they begin with a 16 and
end anywhere between 01 and 08 are subject to the recall. You can find your unit’s serial tag by opening the
oven door and locating the product label towards the bottom of the oven.
Do I have to return my range?
No. The range itself was built correctly and should be completely safe. However, the manufacturer is offering
to have a professional service company check your connections to ensure installation was done properly in
order to prevent any shock hazard. Please visit arcelikrange.expertinquiry.com for information on how to
have your installation checked and corrected at no cost.
Are other products affected?
No, this issue was unique to the CLRE24. No other Summit ranges are subject to recall.
