L.P. TANK INFOR M AT ION
Never use a dented or rusted L.P . ta nk or cylinder with a damaged valve.
L.P. c ylinders are equipped with an O.P .D. (Overfilling Pre v ention Device). The device
shuts off the f low of gas to a c y linder after 80% ca pacity is reac hed. This limits the pote nt ial
for re lease of gas whe n the cylinder is heated, aver ting a fire or pos s ible injury.
The L.P. cylinder m ust have a shut-off valve ter minating in an L.P. gas s upply c y linder
outlet specified, as applicable, for co nnecti
on No. 510 in the standard for compressed gas
cylinder valve outlet a nd inlet conne ction ANSI/ CGA-V - 1. Cylinders must not be sto r ed in a
buildin g, garage, or any other enclosed area. (The L.P. cylinder must have an overfill
prot ection de v ice and a collar to protect the cylinder valve.)
The L.P. gas supply c y linder must be constructed and marked in acco r danc e with the
specifications for L.P. gas c y linders of the U.S. Department of Transpo rtat ion (DOT) or the
National Standard of Canada, CAN/ CA S-B339, “ Cy linders, Spheres and Tubes for the
Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Commission.”
L.P. TANK USE
• When turning the L.P. tank on, make sure to open the valve SLOWLY two (2)
complete turns to ensure proper gas flow. Most gas tanks now come equipped with a
leak detector mechanism internal to the tank. When gas is allowed to escape rapidly,
it shuts off the gas supply. Opening the valve rapidly may simulate a gas leak,
causing the safety device to activate, restricting gas flow and causing low flames.
Opening the valve slowly will ensure this safety feature is not falsely triggered.

PRE-OP ER ATION LE AK TE STIN G
Alt hough all gas connections on the oven are leak tested prior to shipment , a complete gas
tightness chec k m us t be per formed at the ins tallation site due to possible shift ing dur ing
shipment, installation or excessive pr essure unknowingly being applied to the unit .
Periodically check the whole system for leaks and immediately check the system if the
smell of gas is detec ted.
1. Do not smoke while leak test ing.
2. Ext inguis h all open flames .
3. Nev er leak test with an open fla m

connected to t he re gulator. Hav e a qualifie d s ervice technicia n leak test the oven any time
a part of the gas system is repla
ced.
It is als o recommended that you perform a leak test at least onc e a y ear whether or not the
L.P. gas supply cylinder has been disconnected.
WARNING When leak testing this appliance, make sure to test and t ighten all lo ose
conne ct ions. A slight leak in the system can result in a low flame or hazardous condition.
Most L.P. gas tanks now come equippe d with a leak dete c tor mechanis m internal to the
tank . When gas is allowed to escape rapidly, it s huts off the gas s upply . A leak may
significantly re duc e the gas flow , ma k ing the oven diffic ult to light o r ca us ing low flame s .
If you cannot stop a gas leak, tur n off the gas supply a nd c all your lo ca l gas compa ny . If
necessary, replace the faulty part with the manufacturer’s recommended replacement part.
A slight leak could cause a fire.
20
WARNING Do not use the oven in garage s, bree zewa ys, sheds or any enclos ed ar ea.
Never operate the oven in e nc losed areas as this could lead to a ca r bon m onoxide buildup,
which could result in injury or death. Place t he oven on a level surface. Avoid moving the
oven while it is in operation.
NOTE: The oven will operate best i f it is not facing directly into the wind

All pipe sealants must be an a pproved type and
resistant to the actions of L.P. gases. Never
use pipe sealant on f lare fittings. All gas connect ions should be made by a competent qualified
serv ic e technician and in accordance with local codes and ordinances. I n the absence of loc al
codes, the installation must comply with the National Fuel Gas Code, NFPA 54-2002/ANSI
Z223.1-2002. Ga s co nv ersion kits may be pur c hased separately. When ordering gas
conversion kits, have the model number and the type of gas (N.G. or L.P.) used for your
oven on hand.
This oven must be isolated fro m the ga s s upply piping system by closing its individual ma nual
shut-off valve during any pressure testing o f the gas supply piping system at test pressures
equa l to or less than 1/2 PSIG (3.5 kPa ).
The installation of this o ve n must co nform with lo ca l codes, or in the absence of lo ca l c odes,

2. Connect power plug to properly gr ounded outlet.
3. Turn the light’s power switch to “ON.”
WARNING
Keep any electrical supply cord away from any heated surface.
IMPAIRED VENTILATION OF HOT AIR FROM OVEN - In order for the burners to function
properly, hot air created by the burners must have a way to escape. The burners may become
deprived of oxygen, causing them to back f ir e, especially if the bur ner output is set at HIGH. If
this occurs repeatedly, the burners may crack. This is the rea son yo ur oven was designed with
ventilation louve rs. These design feat ure s give the hot air an escape route. Accordingly, never
o
perate yo ur oven with very lit tle or no open space at the cooking surfac e ( the cooking grids
provide sufficient space). Also, never cover the ventilation louvers with foil or other materials
that prevent air flow. Specifically, do not cover the entire surface with foil, a large pan, etc.
