The key pad on the cont rol panel allows you to decrease the tem perature in the co rresponding zone by one degree each t ime you depress the key pad. Remember that t he temperature range in each zo ne is 3°C to 18°C and you can set two different temperature s—one for each zone.

VISUAL SERVICE DI SPLAY
The electronic c ontrol system moni tors temperatures as well as the uni t’s operation. If there is a temperature or operation proble m, you will noti ce the symbol ill uminated in the LE D display on the control panel. Before calling for ser vice, please check to see if your condenser area needs cleani ng. Refer to condenser cleani ng on page 11.
You should not leave the lights on overnight or for extremely long periods of time. T he heat from the lights will cause the unit to work unnecessaril y hard.
Refrigerator Drawers—Model ICB427R
T
EMPERATURE CONTROL
For model ICB42 7R, the refrigerator drawers ha ve their own microprocessor and control panel located in the top drawer. The preset tempera ture is 3°C from the factory, b
ut you have the option of adjusting the temp erature within the rang e of 1°C to 7°C. The LCD disp lay on the c
ontrol panel dis plays the actual temperature of both
drawers in your unit.
T

When the alarm is activated, a symbol will be i lluminated in the LC D display of the control panel. When the alarm is deacti vated, the symbol will not be visible.
Temperature Settings
I
n all instances , the temperature settings are y our individual preference, and with the wi ne storage model you p
urchased, you can be confident the unit will m aintain those temperatu res. A chart wit h suggested sto ring and s
erving temperat ures can be found on page 12.
While each temp erature zone of your wine stora ge unit has a
range of 3°C t o 18°C, you can set the tempe ratures at the exact tempe rature you think best—whether i t’s for consumption or for duplicating the temperatu res of cellars for long term s torage.

Storing and Serving Wine
T
here is a right w ay to store and serve wine. And there is a wrong way. The Sub-Zero win e storage equipment is comm
itted to the ri ght way. Wine enthusia sts know that wine, optimally, likes to be stored for long periods of time in c
aves that are vi bration free, dark , damp and kept at a
c
onstant 13°C. H owever, how many of us h ave these situ-
ations availab le?
When you think about wine, thin k about preserving fruit and the fact th at you must refrigerate it at t he proper temperature before it spoils. After a ll, wine is the juice of g
rapes in its si mplest interpretation.
W
ine needs to be selected and cared for properly. The wine aficionado knows that proper storage will ensure the wine is served at the best conditions.
You have taken the extra s tep to ensure that your wine is kept in the bes t possible environment by purcha sing your Sub-Zero wine sto rage unit. Now how you use th e unit is up to you.
Y
ou can devote t he entire wine storage unit to long-term storage and hav e the temperature set to 13°C i n both z
ones—the ideal temperature for long-term stor age or aging. If, howe ver, you want to devote only a small portion o
f the unit to t hat feature, you can adjust the temperature i
n the smaller z one to long-term storage and adjust the other temperatu re zone to accom modate the wine you will be enjoying soo n.
The temperature i n this zone can be anything y ou choose. Sure, there are ideal temperatures for serving wine , but it i
s very subjecti ve, with everyone’s palate reacting di fferently to different temperatures.
The following c hart offers some universally a ccepted storing and ser ving temperatures for the most common wines consumed today.
Enjoy the wine and your Sub-Zero wine storage unit. And thank you for y our trust in Sub-Zero.
