Aside from the full-size units,
Sub-Zero offers in its Built-In and Integrated lines of refrigeration, we round out our product line-up with a line of traditional undercounter refrigeration which meets all of the exacting standards you have grown to expect from Sub-Zero.
This beautifully crafted automatic ice maker is the only unit Sub-Zero offers that has the capability of providing clear ice. The ice is not crescent shaped, but instead resembles a small barrel.
Keep in mind that special plumbing requirements are necessary to install and have this unit function properly.

INSTALLATION NOTES
This ice maker unit can be ordered with a pump (Model 315IP) or without a pump (Model 315I). Models without a drain pump, drain their water by gravity. However, gravity drain models may be converted to pump models through the installation of a drain pump kit and drain pump.
Specific step-by-step instructions are included with the drain pump kit. Contact your Sub-Zero dealer for details. To obtain local dealer information, visit the Locator section of our website, subzero.com.
The drain and inlet water tubes must be plumbed before connecting to the ice maker. For the gravity drain, all horizontal runs of drain lines must have a 1/4" (6) per 1' (305) fall. An air gap will likely be required between the ice maker drain tube and the drain/ waste receptacle. A stand pipe with a trap below it would be acceptable for the drain / waste receptacle. Refer to the installation illustrations for the Model 315I (gravity drain) and the Model 315 IP (drain pump).
For Model 315I (gravity drain), the drain must be located in a 2" (51) area centered in the opening for the unit, 23" (651) back from the front door.
Poor draining will cause a high rate of ice melting in the bin.
Rough in the water supply line. Connect a
1
/4" OD copper line to the house supply, being sure to use an easily accessible shut off valve between the supply and the unit.
Do not use self-piercing valves. A saddle valve kit (4200880) is available from your Sub-Zero dealer. To obtain local dealer information, visit the Locator section of our website, subzero.com.
A line filter is required when water conditions have a high sediment content. The ice maker operates on water pressure of 20 psi (1.4 bar) to 100 psi (6.9 bar). In some cases a reverse osmosis water filter system may not be able to maintain the minimum water pressure consistently.
A 115 V AC, 60 Hz, 15 amp fused electrical supply is required. It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only this appliance, be provided.
All Undercounter models are equipped with a power supply cord with a 3-prong grounding plug which must be plugged into a mating 3-prong grounding type wall receptacle. Locate electrical within the shaded area shown in the illustration.
You must follow all National Electrical Code regulations. In addition, be aware of local codes and ordinances when installing your service.
