* Grip the driver’s door handle to unlock the
driver’s door. Grip the front passenger’s door handle to unlock all doors, the rear gate and fuel lid.
All doors, the rear gate and fuel lid will be locked/unlocked by the following procedures carrying the access key on your person. (The driver should always carry the access key.)

Start/Stop engine
To start engine:
STEP1: Carry the access key fob, and sit in the driver’s
seat.
STEP2: Apply the parking brake. STEP3: Shift the select lever into the P position. STEP4: Depress the brake pedal until the indicator on
the push-button ignition switch turns green.
STEP5: While depressing the brake pedal, press the
push-button ignition switch.
To stop engine:
STEP1: Stop the vehicle completely. STEP2: Move the select lever to the P position. STEP3: Press the push-button ignition switch.

Change of the power supply (Without starting engine)
The key can be turned from ACC to LOCK only when the key is pushed in while turning it and the select lever is in the P position.

Continuously variable transmission
Shift paddle:
Gearshifts can be performed using the shift paddle
behind the steering wheel.
With the brake pedal depressed, shift while pressing the Select lever button in.
Shift while pressing the Select lever button in.

With the vehicle either moving or stationary, move the select lever from the D position to the M position to select the manual mode.

The high beam assist function automatically changes the headlight from high beam to low beam (or vice
versa).
The high beam assist function is activated when:
1. The light control switch is in the AUTO position and
the low beam headlights are on automatically.
2. The turn signal lever is pushed forward.
When the high beam assist function is activated, the indicator (green) on the combination meter will illuminate.

Turn the dial to adjust the illumination brightness of the instrument panel.
To brighten, turn the control dial upward. To darken, turn the control dial downward. When the control dial is turned fully upward, the
illumination brightness becomes the maximum and the automatic dimming function does not work at all.

Press the switch to deactivate the Vehicle Dynamics Control system. It may be helpful to temporarily deactivate the Vehicle Dynamics Control system to escape from the following
situations.
- a standing start on a steeply sloping road with a snowy, gravel-coverd, or otherwise slippery surface
- extrication of the vehicle when its wheels are stuck in mud or deep snow
Do not deactivate the system except when absolutely necessary.

If the BSD/RCTA OFF switch is pressed, the BSD/RCTA
OFF indicator appears on the combination meter, and
the BSD/RCTA is deactivated.
The BSD/RCTA consists of rear radar with Blind Spot
Detection and Rear Cross Trafc Alert. These functions enable the system to detect objects
or vehicles to the rear, drawing attention to the driver when changing a lane or when driving in reverse.

X-MODE assists driving more comfortably even in slippery road conditions including uphill
and downhill.

OFF : The Auto Vehicle Hold ON indicator light will turn off.

The Auto Vehicle Hold function will automatically
keep the vehicle stopped even after releasing the
brake pedal when the vehicle is at a complete stop,such as at trafc signals.

X-MODE has the following functions.
Hill descent control function:
Using this function, you can keep the vehicle at a consistent speed driving downhill. If the vehicle
speed is likely to increase, the brake control system will be activated to adjust the vehicle speed.
Driving ability control:
This mode increases the hill-climbing ability and driving ability as well as enabling smooth application of torque for easier control of the steering wheel.

Press the front seat heater switch.Each time you press the switch, the mode will change as follows.

Steering Responsive Headlight (SRH) (if equipped)
SRH is a function that automatically moves the headlight beam to the left or right in accordance with
the steering angle and vehicle speed. This function
helps to improve the visibility at night by illuminating
the road ahead at corners and intersections.

turns off when SRH is turned on.

Press the ventilated seat switch. Each time you press the switch, the mode will change as follows.

To open or close the sunshade using the automatic
function, slide and hold the switch toward the open/ close and release. To stop the sunshade halfway, slide the switch again
to stop it halfway or any time.
To raise or lower the sunroof using
automatic function,

The EyeSight system warns the driver to help prevent or minimize a collision when there
is a risk of collision with an obstacle detected in front. If the driver does not take evasive
action after the obstacle is detected, the brakes will be automatically applied in order to reduce impact damage, or if possible, prevent the collision. If the driver takes evasive
action to avoid the collision, Pre-Collision Brake Assist will operate in order to assist the driver to prevent the collision.

Press and hold this switch for approximately 2 seconds or longer to turn off the Pre-Collision Braking System and Pre-Collision Throttle Management.
Lane Departure Warning OFF switch
Press and hold this switch for approximately 2 seconds
or longer to turn off the Lane Departure Warning and Lane Sway Warning functions.
This function warns the driver if the system detects that the vehicle is likely to depart the trafc lane when the vehicle speed is approximately 50 km/h (30 MPH) or more.

Some warning/indicator lights illuminate for a few seconds in order to check themselves
when the ignition switch is turned ON.

If necessary, consult your authorized SUBARU dealer.
Oil pressure warning
The engine oil pressure is too low.
Engine low oil level warning
The engine oil level decreases to
the lower limit.
All-wheel Drive warning

SRS airbag system warning

Anti-lock Brake System malfunction/EBD System malfunction (Brake System warning light illuminates simultaneously).
Vehicle Dynamics Control warning/Vehicle Dynamics Control operation indicator
Warning : Vehicle Dynamics Control system malfunction. Indicator : Flashes during activation of the skid suppression function and the
traction control function.
Steering responsive headlight warning/ Steering responsive headlight OFF indicator
Warning : The steering responsive headlight system malfunction. Indicator : The steering responsive headlight system is deactivated.
Icy road surface warning screen
When the outside temperature becomes 3°C (37°F) or less, the icy road surface warning screen interrupts to inform the driver that the road surface may be
frozen.
EyeSight warning
The EyeSight systems malfunction.
LED headlight warning
The LED headlights malfunction.
High beam assist warning
The high beam assist function malfunction.
Access key warning
The access key is not inside the vehicle. For other situations, refer to your Owner’s Manual.
RAB warning
Reverse Automatic Braking System malfunctions.
