SUPPLEMENTARY INSTALLATION AND SERVICING

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE STRAXGAS THEME GAS FIRES

WITH ALTERNATIVE SLIDE CONTROL

(To be left with the appliance)

Important: These instructions are to be read in conjunction with the installation
and service instructions for the appropriate Straxgas Theme gas fire.

Before Installation

1. Remove gas assembly from convector box.

2. Undo nut on pivot arm and rotate linkage to right hand side. Temporarily refit nut to
avoid loosing it.

3. Remove screws from legs of burner and slide out burner assembly.

4. Refer to installation instructions to fit convector box.

Refit Burner Assembly

1. Place assembly into base of convector box and refit mounting screws through burner
legs.

2. Refit pivot linkage (ensure two washers are fitted under the pivot arm and the locknut

is loosely tightened).

3. Check operation of linkage and if it is not operating freely slacken the locknut on the
pivot arm.

4. Fit 1.5v AA battery supplied into battery holder in centre of burner ensuring the polarity
markings on the battery corresponds with the markings on the battery holder.

5. Check the spark generator clicks when the control linkage is depressed downwards.

6. Refer to installation instructions to continue installation.

Maintenance

Replacement of ignition and pilot assembly

Turn off gas supply at the isolation valve on the fire and disconnect gas connection. The burner
assembly should be removed from the fire box as described above.
Follow the steps laid down in the installation and service instructions for the replacement of the
pilot assembly with the addition of disconnecting and reconnecting the thermocouple
connections to the linkage micro switch. On completion carry out gas soundness test and
functional test.

Replacement of the spark generator

Remove screws holding spark generator in place, disconnect leads noting the position and
remove from fire. Replace in reverse order.

For spare parts, contact Straxgas with serial number and type of fire.
