I. IRIS CYCLORAMA LUMINAIRES
A. GENERAL
1. The Iris cyclorama luminaires shall be of modular construction to allow for four basic versions: one, two, three
and four light units. Each compartment shall accommodate 1000W or 1500W double-ended tungsten-halogen
lamps.
B. MECHANICAL
1. The sockets shall be mounted within a multi-curve, anodized, high purity aluminum reflector designed for
maximum efficiency and smoothness of field.
2. The housings shall be of sheet steel with a specially designed serrated diffuser edge at the base of each
compartment.
3. Both the reflector and the housing shall be vented to allow the use of high-temperature plastic color media. A
3mm wire mesh safety screen shall be provided with all luminaires of this type.
4. Exterior finish shall be black baked enamel
5. The weight shall be:
a. Iris 1:15lbs (8.5kg)
b. Iris 2: 27lbs (15.5kg)
c. Iris 3: 39lbs (22.5kg)
d. Iris 4: 53lbs (28.5kg)
6. The luminaire shall have the following dimensions:
a. Iris 1: 9.75" (247mm) D x 20.4" (517mm) W x 15.8” (402mm) H
b. Iris 2: 9.75" (247mm) D x 36.29" (922mm) W x 15.8” (402mm) H
c. Iris 3: 9.75" (247mm) D x 52.7" (1327mm) W x 15.8” (402mm) H
d. Iris 4: 9.75" (247mm) D x 36.29" (922mm) W x 28.8” (757mm) H
7. The color frame size shall be : 16" x 12 1 /4" (405 x 310mm).
C. ELECTRICAL
1. The supply voltage shall be 120V, 60Hz. 220V versions shall be available.
2. The maximum lamp wattage shall be 1500W.
3. A 3 feet 3 x 14 AWG power cable shall be supplied.
4. The unit shall utilize double ended tungsten halogen lamps (R7 base).
5. The entire unit shall be UL listed and CSA approved.
D. OPTICAL SYSTEM
1. The sockets shall be mounted within a multi-curve, anodized, high purity aluminum reflector designed for
maximum efficiency and smoothness of field.
2. Lamp access shall be through the front of the open face of the unit, after the color frame and wire guard are
removed.
E. ENVIRONMENTAL
1. The maximum ambient operating temperature shall be 115°F.
2. The angles of use shall be from vertical to -45°. The cyclorama lights shall be designed to evenly illuminate
cycloramas up to 23’ high with maximum illumination at performer head height of 6’. The units shall rely on the
overlap of light from adjacent units which should be installed on 8’ centers and tilted down 20° from vertical.
F. PERFORMANCE

2. The unit shall produce a smooth uniform field with less than +5% deviation from top to bottom on a 24' (7.3m)
cyclorama using units on 8' (2.4m) centers.
3. Horizontal deviation shall not exceed +3%.
