Equip ment
·
“Equip ment” can mean an in di vid ual unit, a ma chine or an in stal la tion.
Op er ating per son nel
·
The “op er at ing per son nel” are per sons op er at ing the equip ment on their own re ­spon si bil ity or ac cord ing to in struc tions (min i mum age: 16).
Op er a tor
·
The “op er a tor” of the equip ment (pro duc tion man ager, fore man, etc.) is the per ­son re spon si ble for all pro duc tion se quences. The op er a tor in structs the op er at ­ing per son nel of what is to be done.
Op er ating in struc tions
·
The “plant op er at ing in struc tions” de scribe the in ter ac tion of the equip ment, pro ­duc tion se quences or meth ods. The plant op er at ing in struc tions must be com ­piled by the op er a tor of the equip ment.
Equip ment fore man
·
When sev eral op er at ing per son nel work on one ma chine, the “equip ment fore ­man” co or di nates the se quences. The equip ment fore man must be ap pointed by the op er a tor.
Trained per son nel
·
“Trained per son nel” are per sons who, due to their train ing, are au tho rized to carry out the re quired work in good prac tice.

Per son nel us ing these in stal la tion in struc tions must be in ­structed in the reg u la tions for the pre ven tion of ac ci dents, the op er at ing con di tions and safety reg u la tions and their im ple ­men ta tion.
En sure in each case that the per son nel are in formed.
The in stal la tion in struc tions pro vided in the cor re spond ing op er at ing in struc tions ap ply for all con nected equip ment.
Ob serve safety reg u la tions with re gard to lift ing gear han ­dling

All in stal la tion work must be car ried out with the equip ment dis con nected from elec tri cal power and com pressed air sup ­ply.

For in stal la tion work tak ing place at heights of over approx. 6 feet, use only lad ders or sim i lar equip ment and work ing plat ­forms in tended for this pur pose. At greater heights, the proper equip ment for pro tec tion against fall ing must be worn.
Use only suit able lift ing gear which is in proper work ing or der and load sus pen sion de vices with suf fi cient car ry ing ca pac ­ity. Do not stand or work un der sus pended loads!

2.1. Trans port
The unit is de liv ered as a com plete sub-assembly. Trans port the unit on a pal let. Lift the unit only by the wall sup port flange (B) or by the sep a ra tor con tainer (A). Use only suit able lift ing gear (e.g. hoist ing crane or fork lift).
Ob serve the car ry ing ca pac ity of the lift ing gear.

Never lift the unit by the pneumatique valve.

For in stal la tion, the wall sup port flange (A) is used.
In stall the safety fil ter by means of four screws which guar an ­tee a car ry ing ca pac ity of at least 100 kg (220 lbs.).

Con nect the line to the con veyor units to the tube of the hop per loader (B) by means of a flex i ble hose. Screw both parts to gether by means of a hose clamp.
Con nect the line to the vac uum gen er a tor to the tube of the com pressed-air valve (C) by means of a flex i ble hose. Screw both parts to gether by means of a hose clamp.

2.3. Com pressed air sup ply
For op er a tion of the valve, a com pressed-air sup ply (1/4 “) is needed.
Check com pressed air pip ing for cor rect in stal la tion and as sem bly.
Check fit tings, length and qual ity of the hose con nec tions for agree ment with re ­quire ments.
The op er at ing pres sure is 5-6 bar (72-87 PSI) (sys tem overpressure).
Check the com pressed air sup plied by the plant’s sup ply net work.
Ad just com pressed air pres sure to 5-6 bar (72-87 PSI) (sys tem overpressure).
Com pressed air must be dewatered and oiled.
In stall a main te nance unit (pres sure re ducer with wa ter sep a ra tor and oiler) if re ­quired.
Con nect the unit to the plant’s sup ply net work by means of a hose.

The reg u la tions of the lo cal Elec tric ity Board must be ob ­served.
All work must be car ried out with the unit dis con nected from volt age and pres sure sup ply.
It is not per mit ted for other per sons to un der take the elec tri cal con nec tion.

3.1. Gen eral
The safety fil ter is used to clean the vac uum air of the en tire sys tem and must be in stalled in ev ery multi-location suc tion con veyor sys tem .
A fil ter car tridge in side the safety fil ter sep a rates the vac uum air from the dust par ti cles flow ing along with it. Vac uum pres sure is built up in the safety fil ter fol ­low ing a fil ter mon i tor ing pe riod. Sur rounding air is con ducted into the safety fil ter by means of a valve. The di rec tion of flow is op po site to the nor mal di rec tion of flow. The dust is blown through the fil ter car tridge and col lected in a re cep ta cle.
No ma te ri als are con veyed dur ing the clean ing pro ce dure. The cy cle, dur ing which the fil ter car tridge is cleaned, is ad just able. Ob serve the op er at ing in struc ­tions of the con veyor sys tem.

The col lect ing con tainer can be opened by hand for clean ing. The cor rect seat ing of the col lect ing con tainer is mon i tored by a safety switch.
The num ber and way of the set ting de pends on the con nected con vey ing con trol.

The fil ter clean ing pro ce dure is car ried out while the vac uum gen er a tor is run ning.
The fil ter can not be cleaned un less the col lect ing con tainer is cor rectly in serted.

4.1. Check ing the set tings of the con vey ing con trol
The num ber and way of the set ting de pends on the con nected con vey ing con trol. This is a de scrip tion of two pos si bil i ties.
Sur veil lance time
This is safety fil ter mon i tor ing time be tween two cleanings. Has this time passed, the safety fil ter ist cleaned au to mat i cally.
Cleaning cy cles
Num ber of clean ing pulses dur ing a clean ing pro cess.
4.2. Check ing the line sys tem
Re move the flex i ble line from the con nected ma te rial re cep ta cle.
Start a con vey ing pro ce dure.
Use your hand to cover the open end of the line.
As the vac uum gen er a tor runs up, you must feel the suc tion with your hand within a few sec onds.
If no vac uum pres sure is felt, the sys tem of lines is leak ing.
Check the sys tem of lines and seal off the leak.
Start the con vey ing pro ce dure.
Con nect the con veyor line again.

Daily: Check warn ing signs on equip ment for good
leg i bil ity and com plete ness.
Check the oil level in the oiler.
Empty the wa ter sep a ra tor.
Check op er at ing pres sure of the plant’s sup ply net work (5-6 bar (72-87 PSI) sys tem
overpressure).
Check waste level in the col lect ing con tainer.
Weekly/monthly: Clean fil ter car tridge in the safety fil ter
(de pend ing on ac cu mu la tion of dust ear lier!).

Re place the fil ter car tridge (de pend ing on ac cu mu la tion of dust ear lier!).
Check the seal ing rings of the nonreturn valve and the out let flap.
This main te nance sched ule is cal cu lated for 3-shift op er a ­tion.
Only the Ster ling ser vice should put the one-way restrictor into ac tion.
The given main te nance in ter vals are av er age val ues.
Check whether in your in di vid ual case the main te nance in ter ­vals must be short ened.

5.2. Clean col lect ing con tainer

For clean ing of the col lect ing con tainer, the plant should be switched off.
Open the tog gle-type fas ten ­ers (C) on the sup port (B). The col lect ing con tainer (A) turns down to gether with the hold ing clamp.
Pull the col lect ing con tainer (A) out of the holder.
Clean the col lect ing con tainer (A).
Re in stall the col lect ing con ­tainer (A) in the holder.
Close the holder (B) and close the tog gle-type fas ten ers (C).

Stop the con vey ing pro ce dure.

Switch off the con vey ing sys tem at the main switch.
In ter rupt the mains sup ply.
Set all com pressed-air lines at zero pres sure.

Loosen the tight en ing strap (B) be ­tween the sep a ra tor lid (A) and sep a ra ­tor con tainer (C).
Re move the sep a ra tor lid (A) from the sep a ra tor con tainer (C).
Pull the fil ter car tridge out of the sep a ­ra tor con tainer (C).
Use com pressed air to blow through the fil ter car tridge from the in side to the out side or re place the fil ter car tridge.
Clogged fil ter car tridges re duce con veyor per for mance.
