LO SHOCK ELETTRICO PUÒ UCCIDERE
- Disconnettere la macchina dalla rete di
alimentazione prima di intervenire sul generatore.
- Non lavorare con i rivestimenti dei cavi deteriorati.
- Non toccare le parti elettriche scoperte.
- Assicurarsi che tutti i pannelli di copertura del
generatore di corrente siano ben fissati al loro posto
quando la macchina è collegata alla rete di
alimentazione.
- Isolate Voi stessi dal banco di lavoro e dal
pavimento (ground): usate scarpe e guanti isolanti.
- Tenete guanti, scarpe, vestiti, area di lavoro, e
questa apparecchiatura puliti ed asciutti.
IL RUMORE PUÒ’ DANNEGGIARE L’UDITO.
- Proteggersi adeguatamente per evitare danni.
I FUMI ED I GAS POSSONO DANNEGGIARE LA
VOSTRA SALUTE.
- Tenere il capo fuori dalla portata dei fumi.
- Provvedere per una ventilazione adeguata dell’area
di lavoro.
- Se la ventilazione non è sufficiente, usare un
aspiratore che aspiri dal basso.
Prendere le seguenti precauzioni per evitare incendi:
- assicurarsi un estintore nell’area di saldatura.
-allontanare il materiale infiammabile dalla zona
immediatamente vicina all’area di saldatura.
- raffreddare il materiale saldato o lasciarlo raffreddare
prima di toccarlo o di metterlo a contatto con materiale
combustibile
- non usare mai la macchina per saldare contenitori di
materiale potenzialmente infiammabile. Questi
contenitori devono essere puliti completamente prima
di procedere alla saldatura.
- ventilare l’area potenzialmente infiammabile prima di
usare la macchina.
- non usare la macchina in atmosfere che contengano
concentrazioni elevate di polveri, gas infiammabili o
vapori combustibili.
PREVENZIONE CONTRO SHOCK ELETTRICI
Prendere le seguenti precauzioni quando si opera con
un generatore di corrente:
- tenere puliti se stessi ed i propri vestiti.
- non essere a contatto con parti umide e bagnate
quando si opera con il generatore.
- mantenere un isolamento adeguato contro gli shock
elettrici. Se l’operatore deve lavorare in ambiente
umido, dovrà usare estrema cautela, vestire scarpe e
guanti isolanti.
- controllare spesso il cavo di alimentazione della
macchina: dovrà essere privo di danni all’isolante. I
CAVI SCOPERTI SONO PERICOLOSI
Non usare la macchina con un cavo di alimentazione
danneggiato; è necessario sostituirlo
immediatamente.
- se c’è la necessità di aprire la macchina, prima
staccare l’alimentazione. Aspettare 5 minuti per
permettere ai condensatori di scaricarsi. Non
rispettare questa procedura può esporre l’operatore a
pericolosi rischi di shock elettrico.
- non operare mai con il generatore, se la copertura di
protezione non è al suo posto.
- assicurarsi che la connessione di terra del cavo di
alimentazione, sia perfettamente efficiente.
Questo generatore è stato progettato per essere
utilizzato in ambiente professionale ed industriale. Per
altri tipi di applicazione contattare il costruttore. Nel
caso in cui disturbi elettromagnetici siano
individuati è responsabilità dell’utilizzatore della

DESCRIZIONE GENERALE
Il gruppo di raffreddamento STEL è stato
appositamente studiato per ottenere le massime
prestazioni con le macchine STEL.
L’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL infatti è in
grado di erogare 2 litri/min (con torcia collegata)
con una potenza di 60W assicurando sempre un
perfetto funzionamento, anche usando la torcia in
condizioni gravose.
L’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL possiede un
circuito di protezione, che in caso di anomalia nell’
impianto di raffreddamento, interviene segnalando
la disfunzione (si accende il LED giallo del
pannello e l’allarme acustico).

RICEVIMENTO
L’imballo contiene:
- N. 1 Gruppo di Raffreddamento
- N. 1 manuale istruzione
Verificare che siano compresi nell’imballo tutti i
materiali sopra elencati. Avvisare il Vs. distributore se
manca qualcosa. Verificare che il generatore non sia
stato danneggiato durante il trasporto. Se vi è un
danno evidente, vedere la sezione RECLAMI per
istruzioni. Prima di operare con il generatore leggere
attentamente questo manuale di istruzioni.
RECLAMI
Reclami per danneggiamento durante il trasporto:
Se la Vs. apparecchiatura viene danneggiata durante
la spedizione, dovete inoltrare un reclamo al Vs.
spedizioniere.
Reclami per merce difettosa: Tutte le
apparecchiature spedite da STEL sono state
sottoposte ad un rigoroso controllo di qualità. Tuttavia
se la Vs. apparecchiatura non dovesse funzionare
correttamente, rivolgetevi al Vs. concessionario
autorizzato.

INSTALLAZIONE
ATTENZIONE:
Il buon funzionamento dell’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL è assicurato da una sua adeguata
installazione; è necessario quindi:
Sistemare la macchina in modo che non sia
compromessa la circolazione d’aria assicurata dal
motoventilatore interno (i componenti interni
necessitano di un adeguato raffreddamento).
Evitare che il ventilatore immetta nella macchina
depositi o polveri.
E’ bene evitare urti, sfregamenti ed in maniera
assoluta l’esposizione a stillicidi, fonti di calore o
comunque situazioni anomale.
COLLEGAMENTO
- L’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL deve
essere collegato alla Vs. macchina tramite

speciale spina multipolare ILME in dotazione con
L’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL.
- Prima di effettuare connessioni elettriche tra
L’A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL ed il Vs.
generatore, assicurarsi che quest’ultimo sia spento
e scollegato dalla rete.
-Se si desidera collegare l’A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL alla tensione di rete trifase, sostituire
alla speciale spina ILME 4 VIE una normale spina
trifase collegando i fili di alimentazione a SOLO
DUE dei contatti della spina ed il conduttore di
terra al contatto di terra.
- Se si desidera collegare L’A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL alla tensione di rete monofase,
sostituire alla speciale spina ILME 4 VIE una
normale spina monofase collegando i fili di
alimentazione ed il conduttore di terra al contatto di
terra.
Tutte le operazioni devono essere effettuate da
un’operatore qualificato.
MESSA A TERRA
- Per la protezione degli utenti il generatore dovrà
essere assolutamente collegato correttamente
all’impianto di terra (NORMATIVE INTERNAZIONALI
DI SICUREZZA).
- E’ indispensabile predisporre una buona messa a
terra tramite il conduttore giallo-verde del cavo di
alimentazione, onde evitare scariche dovute a contatti
accidentali con oggetti messi a terra.
Lo chassis (che è conduttivo) è connesso
elettricamente con il conduttore di terra; non collegare
correttamente a terra l’ apparecchiatura può provocare
shock elettrici pericolosi per l’utente, e un non corretto
funzionamento del generatore.
ATTENZIONE: Alla prima accensione l’AWC
MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL potrebbe segnalare
allarme (mancanza liquido). Questo perche’ i tubi
possono essere vuoti. Aspettare qualche minuto
affinché il liquido entri in circolo oppure effettuare
qualche riaccensione.
ATTENZIONE: Se la torcia non viene collegata
l’AWC da’ sempre segnale di allarme.
COLLEGAMENTI IDRAULICI:
Collegare al raccordo di uscita acqua all’ A.W.C.
MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL il tubo di mandata
dell’acqua della torcia.
Collegare al raccordo di ingresso acqua all’ A.W.C.
MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL il tubo di ritorno
dell’acqua della torcia.
AVVERTENZA
POSIZIONAMENTO
PRECARIO
Se il generatore cade può causare infortuni.
Non mettere in funzione o spostare il generatore
nel caso si trovi in posizione precaria. Non

posizionare il generatore su piani inclinati superiori
a 10°.

MESSA IN OPERA
- Eseguire tutti i collegamenti elettrici ed idraulici.
- Azionare l’interruttore generale della saldatrice in
modo da dare tensione all’A.W.C. MP/MP HD/ MP
VERTICAL.
- Azionare l’interruttore generale portandolo in
posizione “ON” per far funzionare l’ A.W.C. MP/MP
HD/MP VERTICAL .
- Verificare che l’acqua circoli nel circuito idraulico
della torcia e ritorni nel serbatoio.
- Controllare periodicamente che il livello
dell’acqua non sia sceso, eventualmente
rabboccare.
MANUTENZIONE ORDINARIA
L’efficienza dell’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/ MP
VERTICAL nel tempo, è direttamente legata alla
frequenza delle operazioni di manutenzione, in
particolare:
Per il gruppo di raffreddamento autonomo è
sufficiente avere cura della sua pulizia interna, che
va eseguita tanto più spesso, quanto più è
polveroso l’ambiente di lavoro.
Sfilare l’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL dal
carrello.
-Togliere ogni traccia di polvere dalla parte interna
dell’ A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL mediante
getto d’aria compressa con pressione non
superiore a 3 bar.
TORCIA
-Controllare che tutte le connessioni elettriche
siano ben fissate.
-Controllare che tutte le connessioni idrauliche
siano ben serrate ed efficienti.
-Non esitare nel sostituire i componenti deteriorati.
-Reinserire A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL nel
carrello.
PRIMA DI OGNI INTERVENTO SCONNETTERE
LA MACCHINA DALLA RETE PRIMARIA
(SCOLLEGARE IL CONNETTORE ILME 4 VIE
DALLA VOSTRA SALDATRICE).

SAFETY
ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN KILL
- Disconnect the machine from the power line
before working on the generator.
- Do not work with deteriorated cable sheaths.
- Do not touch bare electrical parts.
- Ensure that all the panels covering the current
generator are firmly secured in place when the
machine is connected to the mains.
- Insulate yourself from the work bench and from
the floor (ground): use isolating footwear and
gloves.
- Keep gloves, footwear, clothes, the work area
and this equipment clean and dry.
NOISE CAN DAMAGE YOUR HEARING.
- Protect yourself suitably so as to avoid damage.
FUMES AND GASES CAN DAMAGE YOUR
HEALTH.
- Keep your head out of the reach of fumes.
- Provide suitable ventilation of the work area.
- If the ventilation is not sufficient, use an exhaust
fan that sucks up from the bottom.
PREVENTION OF ELECTRIC SHOCKS
Take the following precautions when working with
a current generator:
- keep yourself and your clothes clean.
- do not be in contact with damp or wet parts when
working with the generator.
- maintain suitable insulation against electric
shock. If the operator has to work in a damp
environment, he must take extreme care and wear
insulating footwear and gloves.
- check the machine power cable frequently: it
must be free from damage to the insulation. BARE
CABLES ARE DANGEROUS. Do not use the
machine if the power cable is damaged; it must be
replaced immediately.
- if it is necessary to open the machine, first
disconnect the power supply. Wait 5 minutes to
allow the capacitors to discharge. Failure to take
this precaution may expose the operator to
dangerous risks of electric shock.
- never work with the welding machine if the
protective cover is not in place.
- ensure that the earth connection of the power
cable is perfectly efficient.
This generator has been designed for use in a
professional and industrial environment. For other
types of application contact the manufacturer. If
electromagnetic disturbances are found it is the
responsibility of the machine user to solve the
problem with the technical assistance of the
manufacturer.
PREVENTION OF BURNS
To protect your eyes and skin from burns and
ultraviolet rays:
- wear dark glasses. Wear suitable clothing, gloves
and footwear.
- use masks with closed sides, having lenses and
protective glass according to standards (degree of
protection DIN 10).
- warn people in the vicinity not to look directly at
the arc.

GENERAL
CHARACTERISTICS
The STEL cooling unit has been specially studied
to obtain maximum performance with STEL
machines.
The A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL is able to
distribute 2 litres/min (with torch connected) with a
power of 60W, always ensuring perfect operation,
even when using the torch in extreme conditions.
The A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL has a
protection circuit which intervenes in the event of a
fault in the cooling system, signalling the
malfunction (the yellow LED lights up on the panel
and the acoustic alarm sounds).
DELIVERY OF THE MATERIAL
The package contains:
- N. 1 AWC MP
- N. 1 instructions manual
Check that all the material listed above is included
in the package. Inform your distributor if anything is
missing.
Check that the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/ MP VERTICAL
has not been damaged in transport. If you see any
sign of damage, consult the COMPLAINTS section
for instructions.
Before working with the A.W.C. MP/ MP HD /MP
VERTICAL read this instructions manual carefully.
COMPLAINTS
Complaints for damage during transport: If your
equipment is damaged during transit you must
present a claim to the carrier.
Complaints for faulty goods: All the equipment
shipped by STEL is subjected to strict quality
control. However, if your equipment does not work
properly, consult your authorise dealer.

INSTALLATION
WARNING
The good operation of the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL is ensured by correct installation; you
must therefore proceed as follows:
Position the machine in such a way that there is no
obstacle to the air circulation ensured by the
internal fan (the internal components require
suitable cooling).
Ensure that the fan does not send deposits or dust
into the machine.
Avoid impacts, rubbing, and - absolutely exposure to dripping water, excessive heat
sources, or any abnormal situations.
CONNECTION
- The A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL must be

connected to your machine by means of the
special ILME multi-pole plug supplied with the
A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL.
- Before making the electrical connections between
the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL and your
generator, ensure that the latter is switched off and
disconnected from the mains.
- If you want to connect the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL to the three-phase mains voltage,
replace the special ILME 4-WAY plug with an
ordinary three-phase plug, connecting the supply
wires to ONLY TWO of the contacts of the plug
and the earth lead to the earth contact.
- If you want to connect the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL to the single-phase mains voltage,
replace the special ILME 4-WAY plug with an
ordinary single-phase plug, connecting the supply
wires and the earth lead to the earth contact.
All the operations must have effected from a
qualified operator.
EATHINING
- To ensure user protection the welding machine
must absolutely be correctly connected to the earth
system (INTERNATIONAL SAFETY
REGULATIONS).
- It is indispensable to provide good earthing by
means of the yellow-green lead in the power cable,
in order to avoid discharges due to accidental
contacts with earthed objects .
- The chassis (which is conductive) is electrically
connected with the earth lead; if the equipment is
not suitably connected to earth it may cause
electric shocks which are dangerous for the user.
WARNING: At the first set-up the cooler might
have the alarm on because the liquid is not
present on the pipes. Wait few minutes or turn on
and off the cooler few times.
WARNING: If torch is not connected the coller will
aways have the alarm on.
HYDRAULIC CONNECTION:
Connect the water delivery pipe of the torch to the
water output coupling on the A.W.C. MP/MP
HD/MP VERTICAL.
Connect the water return pipe of the torch to the
water input coupling on the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL.
PRECARIOUS POSITION
WARNING
If the generator falls it may cause injuries. Do not
operate or move the generator if it is in a
precarious position. Do not place the generator on
inclined surfaces at an angle of more than 10°.

STARTING UP
- Make all the electrical and hydraulic connections)
- Turn the main switch of the welding machine so
that it feeds the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL.
- Turn the main switch to “ON” position to make the
A.W.C. MP/MP HD/HD VERTICAL work.
- Ensure that the water is circulating in the
hydraulic circuit of the torch and returning to the
tank.
- Periodically check that the level of the water has
not fallen, topping up if necessary.
MAINTENANCE
The lasting efficiency of the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP
VERTICAL is directly linked with the frequency of
maintenance operations, in particular:
For the cooling unit it is sufficient to keep the inside
clean; the dustier the working environment, the
more frequently the inside should be cleaned.
-Take out the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL
-Remove every trace of dust from the inside of the
A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL using a jet of
compressed air with pressure not higher than 3
bar.
-Check that all the electrical connections are firmly
tightened.
-Check that all the hydraulic connections are firmly
tightened and efficient.
-Do not hesitate to replace worn components.
-Put in the A.W.C. MP/MP HD/MP VERTICAL.
BEFORE ALL OPERATIONS, DISCONNECT
THE MACHINE FROM THE PRIMARY SUPPLY
MAINS (DISCONNECT THE ILME 6-WAY
CONNECTOR FROM YOUR WELDING
MACHINE).
DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL

Do not dispose of electrical
equipment together with normal
waste! In observance of European
Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment
and its implementation in
accordance with national law, electrical equipment
that has reached the end of its life must be
collected separately and returned to an
environmentally compatible recycling facility. As
the owner of the equipment, you should get
information on approved collection systems from
our local representative. By applying this European
Directive you will improve the environment and
human health!

1_Remove screws M5x12 (8) and door panel (7)
2_Insert the input cable with plug into the trolley. Take it out from
the back hole (remove first the plastic cap).
Fasten the input cable with screws M5x12 (3) on the back panel
(see view “A”).
IMPORTANT OPERATION
1_Remove the plastic cap (5)
2_Once the Cooler is install fasten the safety screw M6x16 (6)
COOLING LIQUID FILL UP
1_Turn off Cooler and Power Source and remove the cooler plug
before filling up with liquid.
2_Remove the safety screw (6)
3_Pull out the Cooler and fill up with liquid.
4_Push back the Cooler and fasten the safety screw (6).

ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE
n.1 Fix the gas cylinder trolley and the gas cylinder holder to the welding machine.
(provided in the water version of the welding machines with code
600437000L);
n.2 Place the water cooler on the new gas cylinder trolley and secure it by means of
4 screws placed under the base;
n.3 Secure the water cooler to the upper gas cylinder holder;
n.4 Connect the power plug to the machine;
n.5 Fill up the water cooler with STELFreeze liquid (code 600239000L);
n.6 Connect the water pipes to the welding machine by means of the water pipes
KIT (code 600443000L) in the compact version or by means of interconnecting
cables in the separate version;
n.7 Start the water cooler by means of the 0-1 switch;
