PROCEDURE:
1. REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION. WARNING: ALLOW TIME FOR THE MUFFLER TO COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE INSTALLING REAR BUMPER GUARD BRACKETS.
2. Start installation on the passenger side of the vehicle. Select the passenger side Mounting
Bracket. Temporarily hold the Bracket up in place on the crossmember to determine correct hole locations for mounting hardware, (Figure 1).
3. Remove the factory hex bolt on back of crossmember, (Figure 1). Insert Long 12mm Rod Bolt into the hole in the bottom of the crossmember and out the outer hole, (Figures 2A & 2B). Hold the Bracket up in place over the threaded end of the Rod Bolt. Insert the factory hex bolt through the tab on the Mounting Bracket and back into the crossmember. Secure the Bracket to the Rod Bolt with (1) 12mm Flat Washer and (1) 12mm Nylon Lock Nut, (Figure 4). Do not tighten hardware at this time. NOTE: 12mm Plastic Retainers have been provided to help hold the Rod Bolt in place during Bracket installation. Thread the Retainer onto the Rod Bolt and tight against the frame to hold Rod Bolt in place if needed.
4. Repeat Steps 2 - 3 for driver side Mounting Bracket installation, (Figures 3A & 3B).
5. Carefully unwrap the Bumper Guard. Bolt the Bumper Guard to the inside of the Brackets with (4) 12mm Hex Bolts, (8) 12mm Flat Washers and (4) 12mm Nylon Lock Nuts, (Figure 4).
6. Level and adjust the Bumper Guard and Brackets and tighten all fasteners.
7. Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight.
To protect your investment, wax this product after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to
add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. For stainless steel: Aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs on the finish. Mild soap may be used also to clean the Bumper Guard. For gloss black finishes: Mild soap may be used to clean Bumper Guard.
