PROCEDURE:
1. REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ INSTRUCTIONS
CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION. CUTTING IS REQUIRED. ASSISTANCE IS
RECOMMENDED.
2. Start installation under the driver side-front of the vehicle. Remove the two factory bolts holding the tow
hook in place, (if equipped), and remove the tow hook from the vehicle, (Figure 1).
3. Select the driver side Frame Mounting Bracket. Insert the Bracket through the opening for the tow hook
and up to the outside of the frame channel. Line up the (2) holes in the Bracket with the holes for the
tow hook hardware. NOTE: To protect the plastic bumper cover from damage during Grille Guard and
Bracket installation, apply a protective layer of removable tape, (masking tape for example), to the
inside of the openings in the bumper for the tow hooks, (Figure 2). IMPORTANT: On some model
years and all vehicles without tow hooks, it may be necessary to cut out the openings in the plastic
bumper cover for Bracket and Grille Guard clearance, (Figure 2).
4. Insert the (2) factory bolts through the Mounting Bracket and back into the tow hook. NOTE: For
vehicles without tow hooks, hex bolts have been provided to bolt the Bracket to the frame channel. Use
the included (2) 12mm x 40mm Hex Bolts, (4) 12mm Flat Washers, (2) 12mm Lock Washers and (2)
12mm Hex Nuts to bolt the Bracket to the frame, (Figures 2 & 6). Do not tighten hardware at this time.
5. Repeat Steps 2 - 4 for passenger side Frame Mounting Bracket installation.
6. Open the hood on the vehicle. Remove the plastic cover on top of the grille between the radiator and
the grille. Carefully release the factory clips holding the plastic grill in place. NOTE: Use a pair of needle
nose pliers to gently squeeze the back of the clips to release. Place the grille insert on a clean surface.
7. Select (1) Top Bracket and (1) Top Support Bracket. Bolt the (2) Brackets together as pictured in
Figures 3 & 6 with the included (1) 8mm Hex Bolt, (2) 8mm Flat Washers, (1) 8mm Lock washer and
(1) 8mm Hex Nut. Remove the factory hex bolt on the top of the bumper bracket visible behind the
bumper cover, (Figures 4 & 6). Bolt the end of the Top Bracket (large hole) to the bumper bracket with
the factory hex bolt. Do not tighten hardware at this time.
8. Repeat Step 7 for passenger side Top Bracket and Support Bracket installation.
9. With assistance, hold the Grille Guard up to the outside of the Frame Mounting Brackets. Align the
holes in the Frame Mounting Brackets with the Grille Guard and bolt together using the included (6)
12mm x 40mm Hex Bolts, (12) 12mm Flat Washers and (6) 12mm Nylon Lock Nuts, (Figures 5 & 6).
Do not tighten hardware at this time.
