INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

TAILLIGHT GUARD

PARTS LIST:

1 Driver Side Taillight Guard 4 6-1.00mm x 30mm Phillips Screws
1 Passenger Side Taillight Guard 1 6-1.00mm x 25mm Hex Head Bolt
2 Support Brackets 5 6mm Flat Washers
2 4-.70 mm x 15mm Philips Screws 4 6mm Metal Inserts
2 4mm Lock Washers 1 Metal Insert Tooling
2 4mm Flat Washers

PROCEDURE:

1. REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.

2. Open the rear door and remove the driver’s side screws holding the taillight assembly.

3. Grasp the taillight assembly with one hand and pull gently. NOTE: Be sure to pull straight
out to avoid possible damage. This is the same procedure required to change a burn out
taillight in the assembly. For more info see owner’s manual on replacing burn taillight
bulbs.

4. Once you have removed the taillight assembly, carefully disconnect the wire harness on
the taillight assembly from vehicle and set aside.

5. Prepare the Insert Tooling as shown in Figure 1. Place the Metal Insert on one side of the
Tooling, (1) 10mm Washer on the other side and attach them together with (1) 6-1.00mm
x 25mm Hex Head Bolt. IMPORTANT: Do not tighten Hex Bolt, doing so it will compress
the Metal Insert and you will not be able to place Metal Insert into factory hole.

6. Place Metal Insert with tooling assembly into upper taillight mounting location (Figure 2).

7. Use a socket wrench to tighten the Hex Head Bolt and compress the Metal Insert in place

(Figure 2).

8. Once the Metal Insert is fully compressed remove the Hex head Bolt and tooling assembly
from Metal Insert.

9. Repeat steps 5-8 for bottom mounting location.

10. Connect the wire harness from the taillight assembly back onto vehicle.

11. Attach (1) Support Bracket to lower locating stud located behind taillight housing (Figure

3).

12. Hold Support Bracket in place as you re-install the taillight housing back onto vehicle.

13. Carefully position Taillight Guard onto vehicle. Use the included (2) 6-1.00 x 30mm

Phillips Screws and (2) 6mm Flat Washers to mount Taillight Guard to Metal Inserts
(Figure 4). Do not tighten at this time. NOTE: If Mounting Brackets don’t fit properly, they
can be adjusted to fit properly using a pair of pliers.

14. Attach Taillight Guard to Support Bracket using the included (1) 4-.70mm x 15mm Phillips
Screw, (1) 4mm Lock Washer, (1) 4mm Flat Washer (Figure 5). Do not tighten at this time.

Installation Complete

15.Align and center Taillight Guard; then tighten all hardware at this time.

16. Repeat steps 2-15 for passenger side Taillight Guard.

17. Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and

tight.
