INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

TAILLIGHT GUARD

02-06 DODGE RAM 1500/2500/3500

PARTS LIST:

1 Driver/Left Taillight Guard 4 ST5 x 30mm Sheet Metal Screws

1 Passenger/Right Taillight Guard 4

PROCEDURE:

1. REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ INSTRUCTIONS

CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.

2. IMPORTANT! Cover the bed edge around the taillight housing with masking tape to protect the finish of the

vehicle when removing the taillight housing and installing the Taillight Guard.

3. Open the tailgate and remove the driver’s side screws holding the taillight housing (Figure 1).

4. Grasp the taillight assembly with one hand and pull gently. NOTE: Be sure to pull straight out towards the

rear of the vehicle to avoid possible damage. This is the same procedure required to change a burn out
taillight bulb in the assembly. For more info see owner’s manual on replacing burn taillight bulbs.

5. Once you have partially removed the taillight assembly, carefully engage the Taillight Guard from the top of

the taillight housing (Figure 2). NOTE: You do not need to disconnect the wire harness.

6. Carefully position Taillight Guard assembly onto vehicle and snap taillight housing back into place. Replace

the factory screws with the included (2) ST5 x 30mm Sheet Metal Screws and (2) 6mm Flat Washers to
secure Taillight Guard (Figure 3). Tighten hardware at this time. NOTE: If Mounting Brackets don’t fit
properly, they can be adjusted to fit properly using a pair of pliers. Before adjusting make sure to protect the
Taillight Guard mounting brackets with masking tape to protect the finish.

7. IMPORTANT! Carefully close the tailgate to make sure the Taillight Guard does not interfere with tailgate. If

so, remove Taillight Guard and adjust the Mounting Brackets to fit properly.

8. Repeat steps 2-7 for passenger side Taillight Guard.

9. Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight.
