About
TENS
and
EMS
TENS
(Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)
is
used by
delivering stimulating pulses across
the
surface
of
the
skin and
along
the
nerve strands. The stimulating pulses help
to
relief
pain
by
preventing pain signals
from
reaching
the
brain.
It also help stimulate
your
body
to
produce higher levels
of
Endorphins (your body's natural painkiller).
EMS
(Electrical Muscle Stimulation)
is
used effectively
to
prevent,
or
reduce muscle atrophy which
commonly
occurs
after injuries
or
surgeries.
EMS
also helps
by
increasing blood
flow
to
muscles, range
of
motion,
muscle strength,
as
well
as
enhancing muscle endurance. It also helps
to
relief muscle
related
pain, such
as
spastic muscle, sore muscle and
tight
muscles
Both methods have been proven
to
be
an
effective pain
therapy
option
to
help
ease
the
effects
of
acute
or
chronic pain.

Tips and Device Care
High intensity settings are
not
necessarily more effective.
We
recommend setting
the
intensity level you are most comfortable
with,
or
start
with
a lower intensity for a
few
sessions first before
increasing.
If
you should feel stinging
on
your
skin,
it
could be an indication
that
the
electrode pads are
not
properly adhered
to
your
skin.
It
occurs when
the
electrode pads are drying out,
or
your
skin
is
dry
(especially
during
winter).
In
such event,
we
recommend
wiping
your
skin
with a wet
towel first before applying
the
electrode pads.
Also, in some cases, electorde pads
might
not
attach well
on
hairy skin
or
skin
with
excessive oil.
Electrode
pads need
to
be replaced over a period
of
time.
To
extend
the
life
of
electrode pads, you can
try
rising
it
under
tap
water and
let
it
dry.
If
you are finished using
the
device, please always adhere
the
pads back
to
the
small square plastic sheets
that
were
on
the
electrode pads originally. Always keep
the
adhesive side clean.
If
you plan
not
to
use
the
device
for
an
extended period
of
time,
please always
remove
the
batteries
to
prevent acid leaks
from
the
battery, resulting damage
to
the
device.
Auto Safety Feature
MT-600
is
equipped
with
Auto Safety Feature which cuts
off
both
channels'
output
pulse automatically once
it
detects
the
electrode pads are
not
making proper contacts
to
your
skin.
It
will stop
the
device automatically and resume all intensity
settings back
to
zero
(0)
to
prevent discomfort or shock.
In such event, you should check
if
any electrode pads are
not
properly adhere
to
your
skin.
You
can
also
try
rinsing
the
adhesive side
of
the
electrode pads under
tap
water or
wipe
your
skin
with a wet
towel.
If
not
improved,
it
could be
the
time
to
replace
your
electrode pads.
