Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox® for your automotive sound system. With proper
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox® installed by your authorized JL Audio
dealer. The installation professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools and experience
to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle properly. Also, keep in mind that your warranty coverage
extends to 2 years if your system is installed or approved by your authorized JL Audio dealer. If you
prefer to perform your own installation, please read this installation guide completely
before beginning the process.
If you choose to per form the installation yoursel f, it is abso lutely vital that the Stealthbox
®
be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these
instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure caused by the force e xer ted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision or sudden deceleration.
STEP 1
Empty out the trunk of the vehicle so that you have a clean area to work in.

STEP 2
Remove the trunk flo or, as well as the rear sill panel, by pulling up on the panel to release the clips.
STEP 3
Lift up on the covers of each tie down hook to expose the screws, and remve both screws and hooks.

STEP 7
Remove the two nuts holding the top of the enclsoure in place. Continue by removing the two nuts holding the bottom of the enclosure in place. Disconnect the sub wiring and remove the factor y sub enclosure. Retain all four nuts for the installation of the Stealthbox®.
STEP 6
With the side panel out of the vehicle, the factor y sub enclosure can now be removed.
STEP 5
Pictured is the weatherstripping removed from the side panel. Starting here, begin unclipping the side panel and continue toward the rear of the vehicle, and remove the panel.
STEP 4
Open the rear passenger side door. Pull up the weatherstripping to allow access to the sill panel and side panel. Remove the sill panel by pulling up on the panel to release the clips.

STEP 9
Attach the two Upper Brackets to the Stealthbox® as shown using a 1/4” Flat Washer, 1/4” Lock Washer, and 6mm x 25mm Bolt on each. Hand tighten to allow the bracket s to be adjusted later.
STEP 11
Set the Stealthbox® in place by sliding the bottom of the enclosure behind the Lower Brackets, and aligning the Upper Brackets with the upper threaded studs. Hand tighten the factory nuts on the threaded studs, and mark the location of the Upper Brackets on the top of the enclosure. Firmly press the enclosure toward the side of the vehicle, slide the Lower Brackets into place, and mark the location of the Lower Brackets on the floor of the vehicle.
Remove the Stealthbox®, align the Upper Brackets with the marks on the enclosure, and firmly tighten. Align the Lower Brackets with the mark s in the vehicle, and firmly tighten.
STEP 10
Attach the two Lower Brackets to the threaded studs using the factory nuts, as shown. The smaller, angled bracket goes on the stud closest to the rear of the vehicle. Hand tighten to allow the brackets to be adjusted later.
STEP 8
Pictured without the factory sub enclosure are the threaded studs that held the bottom of the enclosure in place. It is not necessary to remove the bracket for the foam floor support.
