This box contains one (1) Color Bilingual Laptop Plus™ unit and a User Instruction Guide.
Please read the Notice to Parents carefully before you allow your child to use this device. Reading through this User Instruction Guide with your child can be a valuable learning experience. To help ensure your child’s safety, please discard any packing materials such as plastic sheets, wire ties, tags, etc.

Notice to Parents
Battery Installation
Note: Do not allow children to install batteries.
• This unit requires four (4) AA batteries. We recommend the use of
alkaline batteries.
• Open the battery compartment found on the back of the unit.
(See Fig.1)
• Insert the batteries correctly, as indicated by the polarity symbols
(+) and (-) marked inside the battery compartment. (See Fig.2)
• Make sure to correctly replace the battery compartment door and screw it fi rmly back in place.
Battery Precautions
• Install batteries for your child.
• Do not use rechargeable batteries.
• Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc), or rechargeable
(Nickel-Cadmium) batteries.
• Do not short circuit the supply terminals.
• Only use batteries of the same type, or ones that are equivalent to
those recommended.
• For best operation, always use new alkaline batteries.
• Insert batteries following the correct polarity.
• Replace the batteries if the sound weakens or the display dims.
• Remove exhausted or weak batteries from the unit.
• Remove batteries if you are not going to use the unit for more than
one (1) week.
• This unit is not to be connected to more than the recommended
number of power supplies.
AC Adaptor
Using the Adaptor NOTE: The use of an adaptor will override the batteries. When this unit
is not going to be in use for an extended period of time, we recommend unplugging the adaptor.

• Use a standard 6V --- 300mA AC/DC adaptor recommended for this unit.
• Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
• Plug the power jack into the 6V DC socket located at the back of the unit.
• Plug the AC adaptor into a wall socket.
AC Adaptor Precautions
• Do not hold the adaptor with wet hands.
• Do not use an adaptor if it has damaged, split or broken wires or cords.
• Do not play with the adaptor or cable. Do not wrap the adaptor or
cords around your neck as strangulation might result.
• Do not insert many plugs into one connection.
• When disconnecting the adaptor, pull it out by the plug. Never pull by the cord.
• Do not wind the adaptor cable around the adaptor.
• Do not place furniture or any heavy objects on top of the adaptor or
adaptor cable.
• Do not use more than one (1) adaptor for the unit simultaneously
• Do not plug in the adaptor for extended periods of time.
• For safety purposes this adaptor is not intended for use by children
under the age of three years old.
• The adaptor is not a toy.
• Adaptors used with this unit are to be regularly examined for damage to the
cord, plug enclosure and other parts; and in the event of such damage,
this unit must not be used with the adaptor until such damage has been repaired.
• This unit must only be used with the recommended adaptor.
• The adaptor must be disconnected before cleaning this unit.
Care and Maintenance
Clean this unit with a slightly damp cloth.
Do not use any chemical solvents or abrasives on this unit.
Do not spill any liquids on this unit.
Avoid dropping this unit on hard surfaces.
Do not expose this unit to moisture or immerse it in water.
Do not try to disassemble this unit.
It is best to switch off this unit when your child is not playing with it.
Please remind your child to do so.
• Use only a soft cloth for cleaning the LCD screen. Never use solvents,
abrasives or a moist cloth.

Getting Started
General Operation
On/Mode / Off / Auto Power Off
On/Mode Key: Press this key once to turn the unit ON. Once the unit is ON, a prompt to “Select an activity” is displayed.
OFF Key: Press this key once to turn the unit OFF.
Auto Power Off: A screen saver will be activated automatically when
no key is touched for more than sixty seconds. This screen saver will be displayed for a further two (2) minutes before the unit turns itself OFF. Please note that when the unit automatically turns OFF, any created data that has not yet been saved to the main unit will be lost.
Activity Selection
There are 100 activities available in two (2) languages. To select an activity or folder, you can use either the On/Mode key or one of the seven (7) category keys on the keyboard. If you choose to use the
keyboard, press the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW key to select a category. Press the ENTER key or SELECT key to
confi rm your selection.
Keyboard Layout
ON/MODE key Press this key once to turn the unit ON. Once the unit is ON, a prompt to “Select an activity” is displayed.
POWER OFF key Press this key to turn the unit OFF.

LANGUAGE key Press this key once to select one (1) of two (2) built-in languages. Press it again to select the second language.
ESC key Press this key to close the current activity.
ARROW key Press these letter keys (‘T’, ‘Y’, ‘U’, ‘J’, ‘N’, ‘B’, ‘V’, and ‘F’) to select an option or to control the cursor in certain activities. For details, please refer to Description of Activities.
CAPSLOCK key Press this key, and then press any letter key to display the upper case of the selected letter. Press this key once more to return to the display of the lower case of the selected letter.
SHIFT key Hold this key down and press a letter key to display the upper case of the selected letter.
ENTER key
Press this key to confi rm a selection.
SELECT key
Press this key to confi rm a selection (equivalent to ENTER key).
PAUSE key Press this key to pause game play.
VOLUME key
Press this key to adjust the volume.
15 Second Game key Press this key to open a random activity every 15 seconds.

Description of Activities
15 Second Game
When the game starts, one of the activities will be selected randomly.
Your objective is to win the game within 15 seconds. If you give a wrong
answer or lose the game, you will return to the main menu; if you win the game or the time is up, the unit will randomly select another game and play continues.

1. Letter Pair
When the game starts, you will be shown an upper case letter to the left side of the screen and some options for a lower case letter on the right
side. Your task is to fi nd the corresponding lower case letter to match the
upper case letter to the left. When you match a pair of letters, you will receive 100 points. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or alternatively press the ESC key
to quit this game.

2. Letter Order I

When the game starts, you will be shown a letter sequence question. Your task is to identify the letter that completes the sequence. 4. Letter Attack
When the game starts, letters or symbols will cross the screen at random. Your task is to press the matching letter or symbol keys to clear it. When a letter or symbol is cleared, you will receive 100 points. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or alternatively

5. Stained Glass Letters
When the game starts, you will be shown a blurred picture with a hidden letter inside. Your task is to correctly identify the letter. to quit this game.

6. Picture Search
When the game starts, a number of pictures and a question are displayed on-screen “Which word begins with … ?”, where “…” stands
for a letter. Your task is to fi nd the correct picture.
When you answer the question correctly, you will receive 100 points. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or alternatively press the ESC key
to quit this game.

7. Typing

When the game starts, you will be shown a picture on the left side and
the corresponding word with the fi rst letter missing will drop down on the

24. Find a Shape
When the game starts, you will be shown a target shape that you will need to identify, and then you will be shown a picture with some shapes inside it. Your task is to identify all of the target shapes within the picture displayed. When you win, you will receive 500 points. You can continue to play this

them all. Then six (6) shapes will be shown on the next screen in a random order. Your task is to place all of the shapes in the same
sequence as they were displayed on the fi rst screen.

When the game starts, you will be shown some different colored balls on one line on the top of the screen and a single colored ball on the bottom of the screen. Your task is to aim and shoot the colored balls on the top of the screen. The balls will be cleared when there are three (3) balls of the same color in a row. You will receive 100 points for clearing a set of three (3) balls. Try to clear as many as possible to get a high score. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or

29. Colored Ice Cream
When the game starts, you will be shown a target ice cream cone with a sequence of three (3) colored scoops on the right side of the screen while ice cream scoops of different colors drop down on the left side of the screen. Your task is to move your ice cream cone to catch the falling ice cream scoops. Once your ice cream cone contains the same sequence of scoops as the target cone on the right side, you will receive 100 points. Try to catch as many ice cream scoops as possible to get a high score. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or alternatively press the ESC key

30. Color Crossing
When the game starts, you will be shown two (2) color boxes with one (1) box marked with a question mark on the left side of the screen. Your task is to select the box of the correct color that can be used to connect the two (2) colored boxes displayed on the left side of the screen from the colored boxes displayed on the right side of the screen. Once you answer the question correctly, you will receive 100 points. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or
alternatively press the ESC key to quit this game. Time limit: 99 seconds Control keys: ‘Y’ and ‘B’ keys.

31. Fireworks
When the game starts, a series of rising animated lights is displayed
on-screen randomly, from one (1) to fi ve (5) different colors. Your task is
to press the corresponding number keys to make these animated lights
“explode” to become fi reworks.
Number 5 = Red Area Number 6 = Yellow Area Number 7 = Pink Area Number 8 = Green Area Number 9 = Purple Area
For each fi rework that is “exploded” on top of the screen, you will receive 100 points; for each fi rework that is “exploded” in the middle of the screen, you will receive 200 points; for each fi rework that is “exploded”

32. Color Collection
When the game starts, a series of colored grids will appear on the screen for a few seconds. Try to remember them all. Afterwards, these colored grids will all be covered. Your task is to turn them all over. You will receive 100 points for each set of three (3) grids of the same color that you turn over. If no matches are found, the grids will be covered again. Try to turn over as many grids as you can to get a high score. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900

When the game starts, a piano keyboard will be displayed on-screen. Play it freely by pressing the musical keys. You can press the ESC key

34. Music Composer
When the game starts, a piano keyboard will be displayed on-screen, along with a musical staff. You can compose your own melody step­by-step. Press a musical key on the keyboard to insert a music note on the staff; press the left or right arrow key to go to the previous or next musical note; press the up arrow key to play the entire melody that you have composed; press the down arrow key to stop melody playback.
You can press the ESC key to quit this game at any time. Control keys: Number keys. ‘F’ or ‘J’ key: To go to a previous or next musical note. ‘Y’ key: To play the composed melody. ‘B’ key: To stop melody playback.

35. Follow Me
When the game starts, a piano keyboard is displayed on-screen while musical notes scroll from right to left across the screen. Your task is to press the corresponding musical keys before the musical notes reach the left side of the screen. You will score 100 points for each correct note you press. 36. Musical Information
When the game starts, you will be shown a musical symbol on the screen. You will be asked a question about it. Your task is to select an answer from the options provided. More detailed information about the displayed musical symbol will be shown once you give the correct answer. Control keys: ‘Y’

37. Dictionary
When the application starts, the letters of the alphabet are displayed on-screen. Select a letter to check for words that begin with that letter. You can then select the word from the list displayed to open a detailed
explanation. Press the ESC key
to quit this application. Control keys: ‘F’ , ‘J’ , ‘Y’ and ‘B’ keys: To select a letter of the alphabet. ‘Y’ and ‘B’ keys: To select a word from the word list.

38. Calculator
When the application starts, a basic calculator pad is displayed on-
screen. You can then input numbers and use the PLUS, MINUS and EQUAL signs to do basic calculations. You can clear the result by
pressing the ESC key or selecting the AC sign on the calculator pad. Press the ESC key
to quit the application.

39. Conversion
When the application starts, the screen will display fi ve (5) different
icons. The icons represent the following categories:
Weight (kilogram, gram, pound, tonne and ounce)
Temperature (degrees celsius and degrees fahrenheit)
Speed (km/hour, and mile/hour)
Length (inch, centimeter, foot, yard, mile, meter, kilometer, and millimeter)
Volume (gallon, cup, ounce, litre, tablespoon, and teaspoon)
Select a category by pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard. Once you have entered a category, various measurements will be displayed on-screen. First select both the source measuring unit and the target measuring unit. You can then input the numbers to obtain the conversion result. You can input a maximum of four (4) digits (decimal points cannot be entered). Press ESC key to return to the previous screen. 40. Translator
When the application starts, the letters of the alphabet are displayed on­screen. Select a letter to check for words beginning with that letter. You can then select the word from the list displayed to view its translation in another language. Press the ESC key to quit this application. When the game starts, 24 grids are displayed on-screen. One by one, letters will appear. Your task is to type in the corresponding letter before it disappears. Time limit: 99 seconds Control keys: Letter keys.
42. Catcher
When the game starts, a catcher will be displayed on the right side of the screen while some colored blocks scroll from left to right. Your task is to catch as many of the scrolling color blocks as possible. Whenever you collect a pair of blocks of the same color blocks, you will receive 100 points. If the color blocks collected are each of a different color, you will not receive any points for clearing them. You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or alternatively press the ESC key

43. Brick Builder
When the game starts, a brick wall is displayed on the left side of the screen that has one part missing. On the right side of the screen, the missing part is displayed, but in the wrong orientation. Your task is to
change the orientation of the missing part to make it fi t in the brick-wall. Each time you completely fi x the brick wall, you will receive 100 points.
You can continue to play this game until your score reaches 9,900 or alternatively press the ESC key

44. Color Separation
When the game starts, 32 grids containing two (2) different colors are displayed on-screen. Your task is to separate them using the left and right parts of the screen into two (2) sections of 16 grids containing only
one color. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select the grid, and the ENTER and SELECT keys to confi rm the exchange. Only grids that are adjacent to each other can be exchanged.
Once the grids have been separated into two sections of a single color, you will receive 100 points. Press the ESC key to quit this game.
