Preparing Your Site
1. Determine where the display will be located and place/ mount the
display appropriately.
NOTE: The maximum distance of the display adapter is limited to the distance of your
802.11n/g Wireless network device. If the wireless signal is obstructed by walls, or other
interference the signal quality and maximum distance will likely be reduced.
Ensure the Receiver Unit is situated near an available AC electrical outlet.

Hardware Installation
1. Connect an HDMI video cable from the HDMI out port on the Wireless Video
Adapter to the HDMI in port on the HDMI enabled display device.
2. Connect the power adapter from an available AC outlet to the power adapter port
on the Wireless Video Adapter.

Connect the USB to power cable from an available USB power source to the power
adapter port on the Wireless Video Adapter.
3. Press the Power button to the in position to turn on the device, the Power LED will
be activated.
4. (Optional) If you intend to use the device for Screen sharing over a wired LAN
Network, connect an Ethernet cable from the RJ45 LAN port on the Rear of the
WIFI2HDMC, to an available LAN port on your local network gateway device
(router/hub).
5. (Optional) If you intend to output to an analog audio or video source, connect
the included “4 Position A/V cable” from the Analog Audio/Video out port to
Component video/RCA Audio input source on your analog audio or video device.
Note: Analog output will only work with the included 4 Position A/V cable. Analog
Audio/Video is not supported in Miracast mode.

Initial Setup
Once the WIFI2HDMC device is connected to your TV and powered on, the following
screen will show on the display.
1. Connect your Smartphone / Tablet or Notebook to the SSID of the device. By default
the SSID for the device is “WIFI2HDMC xxx” with no security key.
2. Once you have connected to the device, open your web browser and enter the
Setup IP address listed on the display which will bring up the remote control
interface. The default is http://192.168.59.254/remote
3. Select OK on the remote interface.

4. From the Initial Setup menu, modify the following options to suit your application.
Language: Select your desired language for the interface.
TV System: Congure WIFI2HDMC to use a specic resolution if needed. Note: It is
recommended to leave this option as HDMI Auto
WiFi Connection (optional): You may want to connect the device to your WiFi
network for one of the following reasons.
a. Create a network bridge. When your mobile device is connected to the WIFI2HDMC
SSID directly, this option enables you to still browse the internet or access your LAN,
through the WIFI2HDMC device.
b. Enable the WIFI2HDMC to access DLNA servers on your network.
c. Access the WIFI2HDMC remote interface from your LAN instead of a direct
connection to WIFI2HDMC SSID.
Virtual AP Bridge: Select one of the following options.
a. Bridge to Wireless – This will bridge the WIFI2HDMC network with your wireless LAN
so that you can access the internet or LAN devices through the WIFI2HDMC.
b. Bridge to Ethernet– This will bridge the WIFI2HDMC network with your wired LAN so
that you can access the internet or LAN devices through the WIFI2HDMC.
c. Virtual AP only – Devices connected to the WIFI2HDMC network can only access the
WIFI2HDMC device.
Save Change: Saves all changes.

5. Once complete, you should see the following screen to indicate the device is ready
to stream media.
Playing Media from a USB Stick
1. Connect your Smartphone / Tablet or Notebook to the WIFI2HDMC device and
navigate to the Setup (remote) page using a web browser.
2. Plug your USB stick into the port located on the side of the WIFI2HDMC device.
3. Navigate the USB stick contents using the web remote to choose the video, music or
picture le you would like to view.

AirFun Utility
Installation
The AirFun utility is available for PC (on the included software CD), iPhone or Android
platforms.
Android / iPhone
1. Download and install the latest version of the AirFun utility from your mobile app
store
PC
1. Insert the included software CD into the computer’s CD/DVD drive, or download the
latest drivers from http://www.starTech.com.
2. Run the Autorun.exe application from the Autoplay menu. If Autoplay is disabled
on your system, browse to your CD/DVD drive and run the application.
3. Select Software Installation from the menu.
4. Choose Typical Installation from the following screen and click Install.
Note: This will install both the AirFun and the ScreenShare utilities (outlined later in
this manual). Should you only desire to install only the AirFun utility, choose Custom
Installation and de-select Screenshare.
